CANTON - Nancy Castle Guest, 64, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. A native of Houston, she had lived in Canton since 1995. She was a 1956 graduate of Houston High School and a 1960 graduate of the University of Mississippi. She taught schools in the Jackson Public Schools and in other area schools, retiring two years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, where she taught Sunday school for 28 years. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Canton. Burial will be in the Canton Cemetery. Breeland Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Guest of Canton, whom she married June 3, 1995; her mother, Inez Livingston Castle of Houston; a son, John Thomas Morgan of Jackson; two stepsons, Thomas Guest Jr. of Madison and Tal Guest of Jackson; three stepdaughters, Cathy Horne of Brandon, Mary Ann Guest of Flora and Lucy Slaughter of Madison; two brothers, Thomas Castle of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Johnny Castle of Hendersonville, N.C.; two sisters, Judy Gordon of Houston and Jennifer Biggs of Portland, Ore.; three stepgrandchildren. Mary Bolen
OXFORD - Mary Moore Dooley Bolen, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was a retired Oxford school teacher and University of Mississippi instructor. She was a member of the Mississippi Retired Teachers Association and the last living founder of the Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional society of women educators. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She was the widow of Lee N. Bolen Sr. Services will be at noon Saturday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Oxford with the Rev. George T. Walker Jr. and the Rev. Penny Sisson officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include a stepson, Lee N. Bolen Jr. of Oxford; a sister, Lillian Trumbull of New Tripoli, Pa.; a niece, Elise Trumbull-Salzman of Oakland, Calif.; a grandchild, Brett Bolen of Oxford. CALHOUN CITY - Elma Faye Harrison Allred, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Yalobusha County. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City with the Rev. Buford Usry and the Rev. Jimmy Vance officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Joan Allred of Pontotoc and Brenda Mann of Calhoun City; four sons, Wayne Harrison of Bruce, James Allred of Maben, Anthony Allred of Calhoun City and E.B. Allred of Mathiston; two sisters, Irene Anderson of Woodland and Earlene White of Coffeeville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Allred; her parents, Albert Lawrence Harrison and Maude Estell Usry Harrison; a grandson, Jason Harrison; four brothers and one sister. FALKNER - Josephine Gillard died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at the Tippah County Hospital. She was a caretaker and a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church, where she served on the Mother Board and in the Missionary Society. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem M.B. Church with the Rev. James Howell officiating. BOONEVILLE - Milton "Jake" Rinehart, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Boonville after a long illness. He was a grocery store owner and a farmer. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Robert McCoy officiating. William Butler
William O'Neil Butler, 80, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at his home in Tupelo after a sudden illness. He was born May 6, 1922, in Starkville to the late Robert Lee and Willie Earry Butler. He grew up in Aberdeen. After retiring in 1995 he moved from Cashiers, N.C., to Tupelo. He married Emily Jane McKinney Butler on March 3, 1946. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a salesman for Monsanto in Chicago, serving as district manager until his retirement. He was a Presbyterian. He enjoyed doing yard work. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Masonic Cemetery in Amory with the Rev. McCoy Franklin officiating. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Emily McKinney Butler of Tupelo; two sisters, Peggy Butler Meaux and Bobby Lee Butler West and her husband, James, all of Aberdeen; 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be James E. West, Dan McKinney, Bob McKinney, John McKinney, Bill Benson and Larry Huey. NASHVILLE - Dr. Richard Jarvis Enochs, 61, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, suddenly. He received his B.A. degree from Morehouse College in 1965, an M.S. degree from Atlanta University, and an MPH and DrPH from UCLA. For 18 years he served as director and professor of health care administration and planning at Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical College. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Temple Church in Nashville with Bishop Michael Lee Graves and Elder Harold Hockett officiating. Burial will be Saturday at Shady Grove M.B. She was the co-owner and operator of R&W Cleaners, and a seamstress. She was a member of Baldwyn First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and nursery worker. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Waters Funeral Home with Dr. Gayle Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Garden Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Leland Roberts of Baldwyn; a son, Dr. Lee Roberts and his wife, Kelly, of New Albany; three sisters, Ruby Darwin of Blacksheer, Ga., Dorothy Moore and her husband, the Rev. Murke Franklin Harrison, 79, formerly of Corinth, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He graduated from Alcorn Agricultural High School in 1942. He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a farmer and landowner, and manager of the Co-ops in Corinth and Holly Springs. He was a member of Holly Springs First United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Mitchell and the Rev. Smith Whiteside officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Kossuth. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Mae Lamberth Harrison; a son, Dr. M. Franklin Harrison IV of Mt. He was a member and dedicated worker at Greater New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. AMORY - Vera Grace May Burroughs, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory after an extended illness. She was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Lamar County, Ala., to the late Benton and Cornelia Pridmore May. She lived in Columbus before moving to Amory more than 50 years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amory and an active member of the Sunday school. She was employed by the Amory Garment Company and Glenn Manufacturing until retiring. She also worked for Kenwin of Amory and Aberdeen. She loved her family. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Allen Simpson and the Rev. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery in Steens. He was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in World War II. He was a member of Springdale Baptist Church. She was retired from teaching at Tremont Elementary School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Tremont. She was the widow of Murray Dyer, who died in 1994. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Ray Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Donnie Roberts of Red Bay, Ala., Sarah and Bobby Walker of Fulton, and Nancy and Richard Wilson of Tupelo; a son, Richard Dyer of Tupelo; a brother, Elmo Howell of Memphis; 12 grandchildren, Laura Beth Blair of Florence, Ala., Luke Roberts and Leah Roberts of Red Bay, Liz Walker, Bubba Walker and Anna Grace Walker, all of Fulton, Mary Ellen Allen of Golden, Garry Boyd of Memphis, Nikki Gardner, Shelly Dyer, Matthew Dyer and Peyton Dyer, all of Tupelo; two great-grandchildren, Chandler and Chase Allen. Pallbearers will be Garry Boyd, Luke Roberts, Parker Blair, Bubba Walker, Joey Allen and Matthew Dyer. Visitation will be from 7 a.m. to service time today. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Tremont.

M.W. Haynes Jr.
Milford Woodrow "Skeezix" Haynes Jr. died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Dec. 2, 1937, to Milford Woodrow Haynes and Ruth Orr Haynes. He worked for 37 years as a project manager at JESCO. He spent 11 years in the Army and Mississippi National Guard and earned th rank of 1st lieutenant. He was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church. He enjoyed working with cattle, MSU football and fishing. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fulton United Methodist Church with Bro. Tommy Winders and the Rev. Ray Stokes officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Jimmie Ann Haynes of Tupelo; two sons, Rusty Haynes and his wife, Rhonda, of Tupelo, and John Andrew Haynes of Alexandra, Va.; a sister, Mollye Haynes Sheffield of Tupelo; a grandson, Dalton Hoye Haynes of Tupelo. Pallbearers will be Rusty Haynes, John Andrew Haynes, Kelly Martin, Carl Comer, Bobby Fowler and Gus Staub. Visitation will be from noon to service time Saturday at the church.

Jerry B. Edwards
WEST POINT - Jerry B. Edwards, 53, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at the Clay County Medical Center. He was born July 16, 1949, in Monroe County. He was a truck driver for Bacco Material Inc., and he worked on cars. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Stronghill M.B. Baptist Church with the Rev. Israel Lee officiating. Burial will be in Stronghill Cemetery. Carter's Mortuary Service is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Edwards; two sons, Eric Holder and McShell Holder; four daughters, Cynthia Edwards, Leketia Edwards, Nichole Edwards and Keunna Edwards; eight brothers, T. Russell Edwards, Jeff Edwards, Aaron Edwards and his wife, Peg, Jimmy Edwards, Aaron Edwards, Willie L. Edwards, William W. Edwards and Issac T. Edwards; two sisters, Betty Moore and Mary E. McFarland; nine grandsons; five granddaughters; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Louise Edwards, and a brother, Richard L. Edwards. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Felks
RIENZI - John William Felks, 64, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born Jan. 22, 1939, to John David and Velma Jewell Felks. He was a retired butcher for C.P. Gray Meat Market. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Corinthian Funeral Home with the Rev. James Voyles and Bro. Wilford Knight officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and John Godinez of Chicago, and Lola and Robin Hollins, and Sandra and Sean Stacy, all of Corinth; a son-in-law, Eddie Joe Burrell of Corinth; two brothers, Tommy Felks and Leroy Felks of Rienzi; a sister, Marie Mullins of Walnut; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; two special friends, Pat Braddock and Myrtle Hamm. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Patsy Burrell; a grandson, Eddie Joe Burrell; a sister, Gladys Studdard; three brothers, Oscar Felks, James Felks and David Felks. Pallbearers will be John Godinez, Robin Hollins, Johnny Price, Michael Duer, Pete Baswell and William Ford. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time today.

Ealam Prather
FALKNER - Ealam E. Prather died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at his home. He was retired. He was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church, where he was a deacon, a trustee, and a Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He was a member of Heroines of Jericho Court No. 553 and the Bethlehem Lodge No. 336. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem M.B. Church at Falkner with the Rev. James Howell officiating. Burial will be in Ruckersville Cemetery at Falkner. Foster and Son Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Sallie L. Prather of Falkner; a son, Charlie Ratliff of Falkner; a sister, Lillian Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis.

Elihu Salters
Elihu Salters, 74, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of Hopewell M.B. Church of Belden. He was a retired nurse with Kaise Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell M.B. Chuch with the Rev. Ben Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Verona is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include three sisters, Mamie Ramsey of Belden, Annie Hall and her husband, Willie, of Battle Creek, Mich., and Lenora McBride of Chicago; two brothers, James Salters and his wife, Lovie, of Battle Creek, and Paul Salters of Belden; two special nieces, Dorothy Morris and her husband, James, of Belden, and Geneva Dabbs and her husband, Michael, of Fulton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ammie Salters; his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Plummer Salters; and a stepson, Carl C. Wade Jr. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today. The body will be placed in the church one hour before services.
