MOORESBORO - Mrs. Mary Bostic Street, 67, of 644 Gantt's Grove Church Road, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Worthy Jane Eaker Bostic. She was a homemaker and a member of Gantt's Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie David Street.
She is survived by one son, Roger Dale Street of Mooresboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Street and Lynn Miller of Mooresboro; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Joe Bennett, Lib and Oscar Patty and Mattie Sue and Larry Whitener, all of Mooresboro, and Alice and Bobby McKinney of Shelby.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gantt's Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Caris Owens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home in Cliffside.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

Sarah Miller
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Sarah Carroll Miller, 81, of 205 McGill Court, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at her home.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.
The family will greet friends after the service.
Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey Johnson
FOREST CITY - Mr. Jeffrey Kenneth Johnson, 34, of 260 Vance Price Road, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000.
The funeral will be today at 3:30 at Alexander Baptist Church with the Revs. Tom Elkins and Jack Pennington officiating.
Burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday at Harrelson Funeral Home.

Raymond Geiser
ELLENBORO - Mr. Raymond Allen Geiser, 38, of 588 Sunshine Lake Road, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000.
A rosary will be held tonight at 6 in the chapel of Crowe Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Cilone officiating.
Burial will be at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, N.Y.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the rosary service.

Edward Starr
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Edward Napolean "Pumpkin" Starr, 61, of 555 Marys Grove Church Road, died Friday, October 27, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p. m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. R. W. Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 8 in the chapel of Ebony & White's Funeral Service.

Charlotte Steinweg
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Charlotte J. Steinweg, 89, of Homestead Manor, Homestead, Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Homestead Hospital.
A graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Norman Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 3:30 to 5:30 at Harris Funeral Home.

Thomas Trott
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Thomas L. Trott, 84, of Kings Mountain, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Belaire Health Care Center.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church with the Revs. James Dougherty and Ralph Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Harris Funeral Home.

Jospeh Kemp
SHELBY - Mr. Jospeh McGlother Kemp, 75, of 2229 McBrayer Springs Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Fitts officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home.

Jack Scruggs
GAFFNEY, S.C. - Mr. Jack Scruggs, 70, of 110 Hampton Ave., died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at his home.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Richard Thomas and Nora Harris Scruggs. He was a retired security officer with Cone Mills, Cliffside Plant and was a member of West End Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Scruggs.
He is survived by a son, Wade A. Scruggs of Gaffney; a daughter, Jackie S. Gettys of Gaffney; and two sisters, Catherine Greene and Louise Conner, both of Boiling Springs.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Childs officiating. Burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Mattie Whitener
MOORESBORO - Mrs. Mattie Sue Bostic Whitener, 60, of 640 Gantt's Grove Church Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Rutherford Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Worthy Jane Eaker Bostic. She was a homemaker and a member of Gantt's Grove Baptist Church and W.M.U.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Willie Street.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Whitener of the home; a daughter, Tammy Whitener of the home; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Joe Bennett, Lib and Oscar Petty of Mooresboro and Alice and Bobby McKinney of Shelby; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elbert and Mattie Whitener of Rutherfordton; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gantt's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Caris Owens officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Lib and Oscar Petty, 638 Gantt's Grove Church Road, Mooresboro. Meals will be served at Gantt's Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Building.

Graham Cummings
SHELBY - Mr. Graham Cummings, 67, of 1206 Sulphur Springs Church Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at his home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.

Margaret Grigg
BESSEMER CITY - Mrs. Margaret "Ila" Ross Grigg, 97, of 126 Hastings Road, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Carolina Care Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Missouri Green Ross. She was a homemaker and a farmer and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.A. Grigg; a step-mother, Mildred Outlaw; a daughter, Ellen Grigg; six brothers, Raymond Ross, J.L. Ross, Lawrence Ross, J. Fred Ross, Clyde Ross and Carris Ross; and two sisters, Genelle Thrift and Josephine Grigg.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Sue Grigg and Carris and Reba Grigg, all of Kings Mountain, Clyde and Dot Grigg of Grover; four daughters and sons-in-law, Earsie and Don Wood of Kings Mountain, Margaret and T.C. Hastings, Helen and Roy Rayfield Jr., all of Bessemer City, and Ola and Larry Harmon of Shelby; three brothers, Claude Ross of Charlotte, James Ross of Rock Hill and John Ross of Mansfield, Ohio; three sisters, Nannie Lee Lovelace of Kings Mountain, Lois Couick of Rock Hill and Mary Beaver of Charlotte; 33 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kings Mountain with the Revs. Ron Caulder and Keith Love officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 to 9 at Greene Funeral Service, Westside Chapel, in Gastonia and at other times at the home of Brenda Hastings, 125 Hastings Road, Bessemer City, NC 28016.

Lorene Wortman
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Lorene Jones Wortman, 81, of 1234 Oak Grove-Clover Hill Church Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born on Oct. 1, 1919, in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Hampton and Carie Deviney Jones. She was retired from Miliken and was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buren Wortman; a brother, Bela Jones; two sisters, Ethel Jones Mauney and Estelle Jones Brackett; and a granddaughter, Carla Carpenter.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Van Wortman of Shelby and Wayne and Debbie Wortman of Lawndale; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Don Carpenter of Shelby; two grandsons, Jonathon Wortman and Jeffrey Carpenter; and a granddaughter, Lisa Wortman.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Sanford officiating.
The body will be placed at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston and at other times at the home of Wayne and Debbie Wortman at 1228 Oak-Grove Clover Hill Church Road, Lawndale.

Horace Lee Price
BELWOOD - Mr. Horace Lee Price, 83, of 124 Old Belwood Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Hospice of Wendover.
Born on Dec. 23, 1916, in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Roland Lee and Annie Flo McMurry Price. He retired after 45 years as co-owner of Price & Huss Masonry and Construction. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, J.P. Price and Paul Price, and two sisters, Edna Price and Virginia Price.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Gold Price of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Margaret Price of Belwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Hoyte Cline Jr. of Lawndale; a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Marshall Wilson of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Vertie Price of Kingsport, Tenn., and Nancy Price of Lawndale; two granddaughters and their husbands, Susan and Tony Fogleman of Shelby and Marla and Dan McCabe of Prescott, Ariz.; two grandsons and their wives, Matthew and Dacia Price of Asheboro and Shannon and Lisa Price of Belwood; and five great-grandchildren, Daniel Fogleman, Mary Catherine Fogleman, Bethany McCabe, Natalie McCabe and Mallory Price.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronell Owensby officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.

SHELBY - Mr. George Archie Jr., 76, formerly of Shelby, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

Graham Cummings
SHELBY - Mr. Graham Cummings, 67, of 1206 Sulphur Springs Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000.
A native of Lodge, S.C., he was the son of the late Heber and Dena Hires Cum-mings. He was retired from Nestle, formerly Stouffer's Foods Inc., where he worked in the maintenance facility.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Cummings
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley Glover Cummings; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Steve Sipes of Lenoir and Melody and Phil Roberts of Shelby; a brother, Gerard Cummings of Varnville, S.C.; three sisters, Ruth Beddingfield of Dublin, Ga., Grace Wilson of Walterboro, S.C., and Mildred C. Knight of Charleston, S.C.; two granddaughters, Tina Nicole Lovelace of Shelby and Kelly Cherrie Costner of Casar; and great-grandson, Keenan Terrell Lovelace of Shelby; two special sisters-in-law, Gradys Glover of Cherryville and Louise K. Cummings of Lodge; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Webb officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home, 1206 Sulphur Springs Road.
