Malcolm P. Jones
GREAT FALLS, S.C. - Mr. Malcolm P. Jones, 79, of 46 Oak St., died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
Born in Gaffney, S.C., April 28, 1921, he was the son of the late Victor Jones and Belle Blanton Jones. He was retired from J.P. Stevens Co. and was a member of Great Falls First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Burns.
He is survived by his wife, Ossie Sisk Jones; a daughter and son - in - law, Van and Wayne Crocker of Shelby; six grandchildren, Wayne Furr, Charles Furr, Pamela Crocker, Camela Patty, Denise King and Susan Rudisil; nine great - grandchildren, Krista Anderson, Curtis Anderson, Misty Hamrick, Alisha Furr, Christopher Furr, Michael Furr, Johnathon King, Ronnie King and Brandon Petty; two sisters, Evelyn Walker of Cherryville and Marie Stanley of Shelby; and one brother, Robert "Bobby" Jones of Smyrner, S.C.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Dantzler - Baker Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Roberts and John Mullis officiating.
Burial will be Monday at 5 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association of S.C., P.O. Box 23128, Columbia, SC 29224.

Sarah Dixon
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Sarah Robbins Dixon, 57, of 804 Borders Road, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Buford Adam and Annie Laura Troutman Robbins. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stevan Newall Robbins.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Dixon Sr. of Shelby; a son, Mike Dixon Jr. of Gastonia; a grandson, James Michael Dixon II; three brothers, Ray Robbins of Union, S.C., David Robbins of Cheraw, S.C., and Adam Robbins of Lincolnton; and a sister, Marguerite Phillips of Clover, S.C.
A memorial service will be Tuesday night at 7 at First Baptist Church Webb Chapel, Shelby, with the Rev. Tony Tench officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Ladies Parlor of the church.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Road, Shelby, NC 28150

Wade Johnson
FOREST CITY - Mr. Andrew Wade Johnson, 78, of 244 Windover Drive, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Hillcrest Senior Citizens Home.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Alexander United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.J. Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Alexander Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Padgett and King Mortuary.

Aggie Toms
GROVER - Mrs. Aggie Bell Toms, 83, of 219 Roseborough Road, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Lee and Mary Roseboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Toms, and a sister, Amie Jones.
She is survived by a former husband, Truman Jones; a stepmother, Cora Lee Roseboro of Grover; five sons, Truman Toms Jr. of Lynchburg, Va., Harvey Toms and Frank Toms, both of Grover, James Toms of New Bern and Gilbert Toms of Bridgeport, Conn.; six daughters, Willie Mae McCluney and Mary M. Piet, both of Charlottesville, Va., Louise Thigpen and Helen Thigpen, both of Stratford, Conn., Mary A. Toms and Judy A. Jackson, both of Grover; seven sisters, Ludester Hopper, Pauline Hopper and Dorothy Haynes, all of Grover, Marie Dawkins of Gaffney, S.C., Geraldine Allen of Shelby, Annie White and Patricia Anderson, both of Charlottesville; four brothers, Richard Roseboro, Robert Roseboro and John Hopper, all of Grover, Winfred Roseboro of Lawndale; three daughters - in - law, Nancy Toms, Marylin Toms and Joann Toms; two sons - in - law, Joe Thigpen and Leon Jackson; 48 grandchildren; 91 great - grandchildren; four great - great - grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Ellis Chapel with the Rev. Walter B. Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at the chapel.
Withrow's Funeral Home of Kings Mountain is in charge of arrangements.

Mark Jenkins
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Mark Lewis Jenkins, 35, of 305 N. Gaston St., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
A native of Gaston County, he was the son of Wallace Eugene Jenkins and Lowell and Diane Baker Campbell, all of Ranlo. He was a machinist with Advantage Machine Co., in Clover, S.C.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Daniel Jenkins of Rutherfordton and Eric Jenkins of Shelby; one daughter, Samantha Jenkins of Rutherfordton; six brothers, Jimmy Jenkins of Belmont, Greg Campbell of Cramerton, Jerry Campbell of Dallas, Jimmy Campbell of Kings Mountain, Kenny Young of Gastonia and Terry Young of McAdenville; three sisters, Barbara Glover of Mount Holly, Tracy Jenkins of Bessemer City and Connie Jordan of Cramerton.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia with the Rev. A.F. Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Greg Campbell, Jerry Campbell, Jimmy Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, Stephen Rabb and Michael Arnold.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home in Gastonia.
A trust fund is being set up for his children. Donations may be mailed to Jerry Campbell, 1028 Rosewood Drive, Dallas, NC 28034.

Mary Gordon
SHELBY - Mrs. Mary Lee Gardner Gordon, 78, of 814 N. Post Road, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she was born Dec. 1, 1922, the daughter of the late Carl and Addie Davis Gardner. She was employed by Mauney Hosiery in Kings Mountain. She attended Elizabeth Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Gardner.
She is survived by her husband, Gus Gordon of the home; one daughter and one son - in - law, Vickie Lynn and Ken Webb of New London; three sisters and one brother - in - law, RaDel Wall, Lynn and Jim Laude and Mozelle Mickal, all of Shelby; two grandchildren, Andrew Webb and Daniel Webb, both of New London.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry Jordan and Jeff Brendle officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her sister, Mrs. Laud, 1506 Lackey St., Shelby.
Memorials may be made to Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 N. Post Road, Shelby, NC 28150.

J. Packard Elliott
SHELBY - Mr. J. Packard Elliott, 85, of 738 College Ave., died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was born Jan. 27, 1916, the son of the late Dathia and Johnnie Packard Elliott. He was the retired owner and operator of Packard Elliott Sand, Stone, Excavation and Demolition Co.. He also was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and Sharon United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph S. Elliott Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Gantt Elliott of the home; one daughter and son - in - law, Mary Lillian and Dragan Stankovic of Gaffney, S.C.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Dr. James B. Richardson and the Rev. Robin R. Kingston officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
Memorials may be made to the Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 1106 Poplar Springs Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152, or to Sharon United Methodist Church, 871 College Ave., Shelby, NC 28152.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Mozelle Lovelace Bullard, 76, of 406 Tate Terrace, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
The graveside service will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Eddie Gray and Rick Martin officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at Harris Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Jessica Falls - Mitchem
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Jessica Sharon Falls - Mitchem, infant daughter of Jeff Mitchem and Beth Falls, of 176 Patterson Road, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
The graveside service will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Sloan officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at 176 Patterson Road, Kings Mountain.

D.R. Mauney Jr.
CHERRYVILLE - Mr. D.R. Mauney Jr., 86, of 301 Old Post Road, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cherryville, he was born Nov. 17, 1914, the son of the late David Rudisill and Lura Lassiter Perry Mauney. He was the retired president of Mauney Cotton Co., Cherryville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Payne.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Bagby Mauney of the home; four daughters and three sons - in - law, Martha and Troy Moses of Rocky Face, Ga., Caroline Mauney of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Anna and Ronald Spence of Virginia Beach, Va., and Harriett and John Cordray of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren, David Mauney Phillips, Lura Lenore Cummings, William Carson Spence and John William Cordray III; and two great - grandchildren, David Lucas Phillips and Ian Thomas Cummings.
Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday anytime in the afternoon or evening at the home.
Carpenter's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kelly Huss
CHERRYVILLE - Mr. Kelly William Huss, 98, of 111 Harrelson Road, formerly of 143 Church St., died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Carolina Care Center.
The graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. at the City Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Perry Holleman officiating. The body will be at Carpenter's Funeral Home until 10:30 a.m. today.

Gilman Brown
SHELBY - Mr. Judson Gilman Brown, 88, of 914 E. Marion St., died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of South Corolina, he was the son of the late Judson and Elsie Brown. He was a car dealer and partner with Brown and Hopper Motors and later as Brown Motor Sales. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks No. 1709.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Avis Smith Brown, and a brother, Malcolm Brown.
He is survived by one son and daughter - in - law, Douglas G. and Joyce Brown of Shelby; one sister, Loree B. Foster of Nashville; two grandchildren, Douglas G. Brown Jr. and his wife, Susan, and Susan Brown Monroe and her husband, Chris, all of Shelby.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry Jordan and Jeff Brendle officiating.. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Doug Brown, 108 Wyndham Cove, Cherryville.

Grace Toney
FOREST CITY - Mrs. Grace Toney, 74, of Forest City, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at her home.
Funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Harmon Street Baptist Church with the Revs. Charlie Blackwll, Claude White and Tom Frady officiating. Burial will be in the Cliffside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Padgett and King Mortuary.

Willie Edwards
SHELBY - Mr. Willie "Will Ross" Edwards 76, of 823 N. Morgan St., died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Hezakiah and Donie Ross Edwards and a native of Cleveland County. He was a member of Eskridge Grove Baptist Church and was retired from Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Edwards and Harold Ross, and one sister, Sis Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Netter Waddell Edwards; one son, Matthew Eskridge of Shelby; two daughters, Marie Williams and Brenda Roseboro, both of Shelby; four grandchildren; and four great - grandchildren.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Eskridge Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Strickland Maddox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service at the church.
Enloe Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Conley
HIGH SHOALS - Mr. Robert Lee Conley, 75, of 301 S. Lincoln St., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hosptial.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Link's Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Michael Rollins officiating.
Ebony & White's Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Carter
PINEVILLE - Mr. Robert M. "Bob" Carter, died Sunday, April 1, 2001.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Kinman, Dr. J. Dixon and the Rev. Stan Heiser officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Thrift Road, with Masonic graveside services.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the chapel of McEwen Pineville Funeral Services .

Rosie Lee Watson
SHELBY - Mrs. Rosie Lee McDuffie Watson, 81, of 503 Oakland Drive, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Bishop - ville, S.C., and the daughter of the late Ben Lawson and Amy Chambers McDuffie. She was a former employee of the Theological College of Washington and was founder and pastor of Trinity Zion Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Watson Sr.; one son, John Henry Watson Jr.; two brothers; and eight sisters.
She is survived by one son, Joe Watson of Perrine, Fla.; one daughter, Geroline S. Watson of the home; two brothers, Willie Rob McDuffie and Edward McDuffie, both of Washington; seven grandchildren; and 12 great - grandchildren.
Funeral will be Thursday at noon at Trinity Zion Pentecostal Church with Pastor Donagrant McCluney officiating. Burial will be in the White Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
