HOWARD
LEXINGTON — Mrs. Randall Howard, 72, of Lexington passed away on Friday morning, Jan. 26, 2001, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 31, in Timonium, Md. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain will be assisting in the services.

JOHNSON
William M. Johnson Sr., 95, of Winston-Salem went home to be with his Lord Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001. A native of Yadkin County, he was born Jan. 1, 1906. He was one of 10 children of Rommey and Mary Lou Ada Cockerham Johnson in the community of Boonville. He was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, his wife Jessie Reece, daughter Clara Renegar and grandson Brent Johnson Mackie. He was a longtime member of Salem Baptist Church and until recent years was very active serving as deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Johnson came to Winston-Salem to operate a streetcar and was an employee of Duke Power Company for 42 years. Mr. Johnson is survived by three sons, William M. Johnson Jr. and Carolyn Birmingham, Ala., Rex L. Johnson and Betty of Clemmons and Dr. J. Barry Johnson and Marilyn of Winston-Salem; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Mackie of Yadkinville; one brother, P.M. Johnson of Mocksville; one sister, Lucille Gross of Hickory; and 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Vogler’s Clemmons Chapel conducted by Rev. Floyd Boles, Dr. Gary Chapman and Dr. William Campbell with entombment in Westlawn Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Clemmons Chapel. Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 S. Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.

LANE
PINNACLE — Mrs. Tennie Elvira Baker Lane, 90, of 3815 Quaker Church Road passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001. She was born Jan. 30, 1910, in Yadkin County to John Absalom Albert (Bud) and Bettie Jane Denny Baker. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Survivors are three sons, Willie G. (Billy) Lane and wife Velma Lee of 2669 Shoals Road, Pinnacle, Robert Alan Lane and wife Glenda of 2628 Shoals Road, Pinnacle, and Jackie Clay Lane and wife Martha of 118 Forrest Drive, Advance; five grand-children, Sheryl Gay (Max) Butcher, Donnie (Joye) Lane, Kimberly (Lenny) Marion, Tina (John) Heafner and Joel (Krista) Lane; eleven great-grand-children, Jackie Leigh Ragland, Steven Lane, Josh Lane, Nikki Collins, Tyler Marion, John Rusnak, Jacob Rusnak, Patrick Marion, Caroline Marion, Katherine Lane and Sarah Lane; four great-great-grandchildren, Meagan Baker, Abbi Ragland, Amber Collins and April Collins; one brother, Floyd Baker of Corner Road, Pinnacle; two half brothers, Frank and Ray Baker; and three half sisters, Frances Hancock, Ola Mae Blakley and Peggy Coffer of Sanford. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband M. Gray Lane, granddaughter Martha Rusnak, great-grandson Jody Butcher, sister Cloa Baker, brothers Paul, Willie and Golden Baker, half sister Hester Smith and half brother Odell Baker. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Fairview United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Amy Coles. Mrs. Lane will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The lane family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain. Memorials may be made in floral tribute or to the Building Fund at Fairview United Methodist Church, c/o Glenda Lane, 2628 Shoals Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043. The Lane Family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain.

LINDSEY
JONESVILLE — Mrs. Betty Couch Lindsey, 63, of Jonesville died Saturday, Jan. 27, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lindsey was born May 10, 1937, in Yadkin County to Jessie Sexton and Bessie Carter Couch. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother and was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her parents and by three brothers, Roscoe, Robert and Dallas Couch. Surviving are her husband, James L. Lindsey of the home; five children, Randy (Teresa) Lindsey of King, Robin (Ginger) Lindsey of Elkin, Ronnie (Crystal) Lindsey of Westfield, Jeannie (Robert) Kent of Jonesville and David (Carrie) Lindsey of Denver, N.C.; ten grandchildren, Chris Lindsey, Brian Lindsey, Casie Lindsey, Sheena Lindsey, Steven Lindsey, Heather Lindsey, Nina Lindsey, Kristi Kent, David Hemrick and Nicole Lee Hemrick; one great-grandchild, Jessica Frazier; one sister, Neallie Sale of Hamptonville; and three brothers, Clifton Couch of Hamptonville, David Monroe Couch of Rural Hall and Jessie D. Couch of Hamptonville. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Swan Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Nat Thompson and Mr. Terrell Gilley. Mrs. Lindsey will lie in state 1:30-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Gentry Family Funeral Home, 4517 Little Mountain Road, Jonesville, N.C.

McGEE
MOUNT AIRY — Miss Willie Lou McGee, 86, of 243 McGee Road, Mount Airy, died Sunday morning, Jan. 28, 2001, at her home. She was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Surry County to the late Job and Eliza Jane Taylor McGee. Miss McGee was a retired school-teacher in Surry County, having taught at Copland School, Mount Airy High School, Pilot Mountain High School and later at East Surry High School and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She was an outstanding math teacher and basketball coach. Surviving are six nieces, Lorene Turpin Clay of Greenville, S.C., Magdalene Turpin Comer of Mount Airy, Arlene Williams Hodge of Charlottesville, Va., Rachel McGee Bondurant of Maryland, Peggy Chilton Gordon of Ararat and Betty Chilton Rierson of Ararat and five nephews, Robert McGee of Raleigh, Ralph Williams of Mountain Park, Grady Adams of Mount Airy, Grey Boyles of Mount Airy and Jimmy Boyles of Rockhill, S.C. In addition to her parents, Miss McGee was preceded in death by six sisters, Mallie Turpin, Sena Williams, Alice Adams, Ida McGee, Emma Boyles and Vilena Chilton and by two brothers, Arthur and Allen McGee. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mount Airy, conducted by Mr. Grey Boyles with burial to follow in the McGee Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the funeral service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

MOORE
Mrs. Lucille Moore, 81, of Winston-Salem passed away Jan. 27, 2001, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1919, in Davie County to Minnie McCullough and Ernest V. Garwood. Mrs. Moore was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church for 54 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Cecil '`Ace’‘ Moore. Surviving are two sons, Richard '`Eddie’‘ Moore (wife Gloria) and Terry L. Moore (wife Avis), both of Sunset Beach, one sister, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Gary A. Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

MOSER
Mrs. Katie Belle Crouch Moser, 79, of Meadowbrook Manor, Clemmons, died after a lengthy illness Friday, Jan. 26, 2001. She was born Jan. 24, 1922, to Edward L. and Nadia Puryear Crouch in Forsyth County. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Moser was preceded in death by two brothers, John Crouch and Walter Crouch. She is survived by her husband Thurman C. Moser of Meadowbrook Manor in Clemmons; two daughters, Thurma Moser Dudley of Winston-Salem and Linda M. Brewer and husband Tommy of Lexington; three grandchildren, Melinda Dudley Odom, Jeffrey Dudley and Pamela D. Brewer; three great-grandchildren, Justin and William Odom, and Joseph Dudley; two brothers, Frank Crouch of Greensboro and Carl Crouch of North Miami, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held noon Monday, Jan. 29, at Trinity United Methodist Church by Rev. Ervin Houser. The family will receive friends following the service at the church, 3819 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, N.C., with food and fellowship to follow the service.

MUTO
Mr. Anthony Falcon Muto, 69, of Winston-Salem died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1931, in Harrisburg, Pa., to Phillip Anthony and Geneva Kost Muto. Mr. Muto was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Exchange Club, SCAN Foundation and a former board member of Northwest Forsyth American Little League. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Elizabeth McCullough Muto. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Peggy Howard Muto of the home; three daughters, Ms. Toni Workmen of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Susan Davis and husband Frank of Rocky Mount and Mrs. Regina Grady of Clemmons; two sons, Michael Muto and wife Dana, and William Muto of Winston-Salem; 10 grandchildren, Benjamin, Daniel and Katherine Muto; Emily and Sarah Workmen; Jan Marie Hanes; Jonathan Davis; and Chris, David and Jonathan Grady; two great-grandchildren, Ana Hanes and Brina Grady; and one brother and one sister, Phillip Muto and Mrs. Rosanna Dulak of Pennsylvania. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank O’Rourke officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Winston-Salem/-Forsyth County, 1100-C S. Stratford Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

RAULERSON
Baby Abigail Marie Raulerson died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Forsyth Medical Center. Surviving are her parents, Mark and Debbie Salling Raulerson of Clemmons; maternal grand-parents, Mary and Don Salling of Winston-Salem; and paternal grandparents, JoAnn and Charles Dunn of Clemmons. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons with Dr. George Carpenter officiating. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

SAPP
PINNACLE — Mr. Eugene Clinton Sapp Jr., 35, of Pinnacle died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born March 11, 1965, in Forsyth County to Eugene Clinton and Bonnie Marlow Sapp Sr. Mr. Sapp was of the Baptist faith, an avid outdoorsman, loving husband and father-to-be. Survivors are his wife, Sabrina D. Sapp with the impending birth of the first child of the home; his parents; three sisters, Debbie Fulk and husband Mark of Roaring River, Gail Smith and husband Mike of Clemmons and Becky Gibertsen of Courtney; maternal grand-mother Oma Marlow of Lewisville, paternal grand-mother Sarah Flynt of Winston-Salem, several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Grapevine Baptist Church by Rev. Ronnie Comer and Rev. Otis Clampitt. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
