TEAGUE
KERNERSVILLE -- Mr. Thomas Harold (Tommy) Teague, 82, of 496 Morro Drive, Kernersville, formerly of Greensboro, died Sunday, Oct . 10, 1999 at the Human Service Alliance in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will he conducted on Tuesday, Oct . 12, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service Chapel. Reverend Gerald Primm will officiate. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mr. Teague was born on April 21, 1917 in Guilford County to Thomas Hector and Glennie Helen Dupree Teague. He was long-time employee of Cone Mills Revolution Plant and was a self-employed painter. Mr. Teague was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bertie Louise West Teague in 1984; his second wife, Madge Parker Teague in 1996; and his brothers, James Teague and Luther Teague. Survivors are his daughter, Patricia Teague Swisher of Kernersville; one sister, Ruth T. Willard of Greensboro; brothers, William (Bill) Teague of Greensboro and Roy C. Teague of Morrow, Ga.; grandchildren, Kimberly S. Idol, Kelly Michelle Swisher, and Curtis Lee Swisher, all of Kernersville; and many nieces and nephews. The family willl receive friends from 7 -9 p.m. Monday, Oct . 11, 1999 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Human Service Alliance, 3983 Old Greensboro Rd., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27101 or Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27045.

TAYLOR
Mrs. Marie Gibson Taylor, 78 of Springwood Care Center of Forsyth and formerly of Crystal Towers, West 6th Street, died Saturday, January 8, 2000 at Spring wood Care after a period of illness. She was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. to the late Millege and Lula Lyons Gibson on November 11, 1921. She attended the Public Schools of this city and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She served faithfully in the Sunday School, the Sarah Missionary Group, Mt. Pleasant Chapel Choir, Amanda Galloway Aide Society, and the Forsyth County Sunday School Union. She was also a member of the Martin Luther King Senior Citizen's Club. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by one daughter, Audrey Taylor Mewborn. Surviving, with memories to cherish are one son, Winslow Taylor and spouse, Cynthia of Grapevine, Texas; three grandsons, Winslow of Texas, Michael Mewborn of Greenboro, and Quincey Tatum of Charlotte; a devoted niece, Theresa Gill Rowls; two nephews, Garland and Cedric Gill of Winston-Salem; devoted cousins, Pauline and Oliver Benbow; and devoted friends, Leon and Edna Randleman and Malloy Bohannon of this city. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Douglas Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Forsyth Directors is in charge of arrangements.

TILLEY
WALKERTOWN -- Mrs. Lucy Ann Noah Tilley, loving, sweet mother, and wonderful grandmother, who is now with Jesus, was born on March 31, 1903 and died at Pellcare Nursing Home in Walkertown on January 10, 2000. She was 96 years old. Mrs. Tilley was born to John Wesley and Viola Nester Noah. Her step-mother was Emma Noah. She was the wife of the late John Ernest Tilley. She is survived by one daughter, Lois Tilley Keye of Winston-Sale; five sons, Jessie J. Tilley and wife, Dot Shaver Tilley, Charlie J. Tilley and wife, Nancy Jones Tiley, Junior W. Tilley and wife, Betty Yates Tilley, and Loyd E. Tilley and wife, Marie Sturms Tilley all of Winston-Salem, and John E. ''Johnny'' and wife, Vivian Fulk Tilley of Pinnacle, N.C.; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Virlie Childress and Mrs. Frances Tuttle of Winston-Salem and Mrs. Annie Belle Bowman of Tobaccoville; and one brother, Howard Noah of Clemmons. Mrs. Tilley was preceded in death by three sisters, Essie Hayden Secrest and Bessie Pedigo of Virginia, and Dora Woods of Winston-Salem and two brothers, Lawton Noah and Lewis Noah of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at Family Funeral Chapel, S. Main Street in Kernersville by Rev. John Lee. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Loyd and Marie Tilley, 5133 Davis Road, Winston-Salem, N.C.

THOMPSON
FREDERICKSBURG, VA. -- Wheeler T. Thompson, 94, of Fredericksburg, Va., died January 9, 2000 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a former owner of Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Service. Surviving are his wife, Margaret French Kirkpatrick Thompson; four children, Elizabeth Jane Thompson of Richmond, Va., Wyatt Wheeler Thompson and John Kirkpatrick Thompson, both of Fredericksburg, Va., and Margaret Anne Thompson McCain of Winston-Salem; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2000 at Fredericksburg Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Fredericksburg City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 444, Fredericksburg, Va. 22404.

WILLARD
CLEMMONS -- Marilyn Fowler Willard, 53, of 118 RoquemoreRoad, passed away January 12, 2000 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was born February 9, 1946 in Winston-Salem, N.C. to the late Ruby and Wesley Fowler. Marilyn attended R.J.Reynolds High School and graduated with honors from UNC-Greensboro. Prior to starting a family, Marilyn worked at Western Electric. She lived with her husband, Ron L. Willard and her son, Bradley Scott Willard. Surviving are her two daughters, Brooke Allison Willard and Meredith Paige Willard; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald Fowler and Anna Fowler; and her two nephews, Scott and Michael Fowler. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at Clemmons Vogler and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Clemmons Moravian Church. Memorial gifts may be directed to Cancer Services, Inc. 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103 attn. Elizabeth Thornton.

WILSON
MEBANE -- Mrs. Beatrice D. Wilson, 90, of 1405 Buckhorn Road, Mebane, died Jan . 12, 2000 at her home in Orange County. Funeral arrangements are incomplete . Walkers Funeral Home of Mebane is in charge of arrangements.

SMITH
Dr. Thomas A. Smith, age 81, of Atlanta, Ga., and formerly of Winston-Salem died January 12, 2000. Dr. Smith was born December 3, 1918, in Atkinson and was the son of the late Thomas A. and Hattie Watson Smith. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Burkheimer. Dr. Smith practiced dentistry for over thirty years in Winston-Salem. He graduated from Emory School of Dentistry in 1950 and was a member of the Honorary Society ''Omicron Kappa Upsilon'' and Xi Psi Fraternity. During WWII he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army under General Patton and was decorated with the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He was a 32nd degree mason. Surviving are his children, Alex Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Yvette Putt and husband, John of Evergreen, Colo., Jeanmarie Molnar and husband, Oszkar of Elkin and Kathleen Smith and husband, Gary Tice of Tucker, Ga.; grandchildren, J.T. and Davis Putt and Ralena, Jason, Ryan and Thomas Molnar; sisters, Hariett Reynolds of Wilmington and Katherine S. Willis of Jacksonville, Fla.; former wife and friend, Ghisaline G. Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; and nieces, Peggy Burkheimer, Kitty Hageman, Debbie West, and Susan Healy. Graveside funeral service and interment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, at Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson N.C., with the Rev. Douglas Warnock officiating. The family will receive friends at Atkinson Baptist Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the graveside service. I lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the Foundation of Wesley Woods, 1817 Clifton Road, N.E. Atlanta, Ga., 30329. Thomas A. Smith will be remembered for his sense of humor, his enjoyment of music, golf and ice cream. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.

WADKINS
NORTH WILKESBORO -- Mrs. Garnett Joines Wadkins, age 85, of Sunset Drive, North Wilkesboro, widow of William S. Wadkins died Thursday, January 13, 2000 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 at Gordon Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Adams officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Watkins was born in Wilkes County, May 11, 1914. She was a member of Gordon Baptist Church. Mrs. Watkins is survived by four daughters, Betty Weaver of Kannapolis, Jeanie Renegar of Wilmington, Linda Johnson of North Wilkesboro, and Gail Musgrave of Goldsboro; one son, William S. Wadkins, Jr. of Winston-Salem; one sister, Marie Eller of Wilkesboro; one brother H.C. Joines of Greensboro; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. The family will be at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in North Wilkesboro from 7:00 until 9:00 tonight.

WALKER
ELKIN -- Mrs. Irene Sumner Walker, 79, of 452 North Elkin Dr., Elkin died Wednesday January 12, 2000 at 6:45 p.m. at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church by Rev. H.R. Compton and Rev. Harold Smisor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Mrs Walker was born in Carroll County, Virginia May 24, 1920 to Andrew Porter and Margaret Chrisley Sumner. Mrs. Walker, a Registered Nurse was a graduate of Martin Memorial School of Nursing and was employed in the office of Dr. Seth M. Beale for thirty years. She was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Paige Walker in 1988. Surviving are 2 sisters, Colene (Bud) Cromer of Roanoke, Va., and Delta Burcham of Woodlawn, Va.; one brother, Wayne (JoAnn) Sumner of Woodlawn, Va.; one sister-in-law, Beulah Sumner of Hillsville, Va.; one brother-in-law, Eldon Vass of Woodlawn, Va.; extended family, Cecil Crouse, Jane & Bill Reynolds, Ann Cook, Bud Crouse, and Nancy Gullatt, all of Elkin.; several nieces and nephews; and four great godchidren, Sarah Pinnix Krista Seagrave, Caleb Gullett and Shane Seagraves. Family received friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to Grassy Creek United Methodist Church, 145 Klondike Rd., State Rd., N.C., 28676.

WALL
JEFFERSON -- Jack Wall, age 81 of South Main Street in Jefferson died Thursday morning at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 2:00 p.m. at the West Jefferson First Baptist Church with Rev. Kennith Morris and Rev. Kermit Dancy officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rites. Mr. Wall was born in Rutheford County on November 27, 1918 to Crawford and Rebecca Ledbetter Wall. He was married to the late Dot Walls Wall on June 1, 1952. He served his country during WWII in the United States Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Wall was the owner of Jon-Marc Department Store of West Jefferson where he worked for the past 35 years. He began his life long career as a merchant with the Spainhour's Department Store. Jack loved to play Golf and was a former Golf Coach at the Ashe Central High School and a member of the Mountain Aire Golf Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a member of several different civic clubs including the Civitan Club. Mr. Wall is survived by two daughters, Jackie Wall Hartsog of Jefferson, and Mrs. Alan (Libby) Cockerham of West Jefferson; one brother, Malcolm Wall of Forest City, N.C.; and one sister, Mrs. Coleen Wall Mauney of Rutherfordton, N.C.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the West Jefferson First Baptist Church Building Fund, 8 West Second Street, West Jefferson, N.C. 28694. Boone Family Funeral Home, 2005 Mt. Jefferson Road, West Jefferson, N.C. is in charge of the arrangements.
