WALLS
Mr. Bennie Henry Walls Sr. of 1811 Campbell Drive, Suitland, Md., passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 in Suitland, Md. Mr. Walls was a resident of Winston-Salem for many years before relocating to the Washington area. He was a graduate of Atkins High School, Class of 1943, attended N.C. A&T State University and Kentucky State University in Frankfor t , Ky. and graduated with a B .S. degree from Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa in 1975. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Ruth Crockett Walls of the home; two daughters, Bendaiqua Walls of the home and Benita (Dwayne) Laurence of Washington ; a son, Bennie Henry Walls Jr. of Washington ; two grandchildren; two nephews, Reginald Wall and Ronald Wall , both of Winston-Salem; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Ceda r Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Md. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Washington . John T. WALSH
NORTH WILKESBORO -- Mr. Thomas J. ''Tom'' Walsh, 78, of Hamby Mountain Road, died Saturday morning, Sept. 30, 2000 at his home. Mr. Walsh was born March 13, 1922 in Wilkes County to Thomas Jefferson and Victoria Beshears Walsh. Mr. Walsh was a member of Purlear Baptist Church, a member of VFW Post 1142 and New Hope Jr. Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from First Union National Bank. Surviving are two daughters, Marcella Frye of Laurel Fork, Va. adn Katherine Berrong of North Wilkesboro; a brother, Gurney Walsh of Millers Creek; two sisters, Lillie Mae Yates of Purlear and Thelma Chaney of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Purlear Baptist Church, 413 Purlear Road, Purlear , with the Rev. Tim Wilcox and the Rev. Hunter Church officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Miller Funeral Service, 180 Sparta Road, North Wilkesboro from 6 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Purlear Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Linda Hamby, 413 Purlear Road, Purlear, NC 28665 or to Hospice of Wilkes, 1907 West Park, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. The family has requested no food.

BOLTON
MACON, Ga. -- Mr. George Thomas Bolton, formerly of 5325 Houston Road, Macon, Ga., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000. Mr. Bolton was the son of George Sylvester and Annie Dye Bolton and lived in Macon most of his life before moving to North Carolina. He was a machinist retired from Southern Railroad and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Snow's Memorial Chapel in Macon, Ga., conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Woods. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery entering through the main gate. His wife, Mildred Cranfod Bolton preceded him in death. Surviving are his daughters, Frances B. Montaquila of Winston-Salem and Helen B. Dundee of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Lila Bolton of Macon, Ga.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue in Macon, and other times at the home of Elaine and Mel Cranford, 711 Ormond Terrace, Macon, GA 31206. Snow's Memorial Chapel in Macon is serving the Bolton family.

BREWER
Mr. Edward Eugene Brewer, 66, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Charles Martin officiating. BURCHETT
CLEMMONS -- Mrs. Deborah Marshall Burchett, 52, of Lavale Drive died Dec. 31, 2000, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born Oct. 11, 1948, in Knox County, Tenn. to John and Bonnie Adams Marshall. Mrs. Burchett retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System as an elementary music teacher. She received her bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University and her master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church; a volunteer at the Oncology Department at NC Baptist Hospital; a volunteer with Cancer Services; and helped start a Cancer Support Group in Clemmons. Mrs. Burchett is survived by her husband, Al; two sons, Heath and his wife Amanda of Winston-Salem and Sean of the home; her parents of Morristown, Tenn.; a sister, Janet Kay Manning and her husband Wayne of Kingsport, Tenn.; and her mother-in-law, Ruth Burchett of Morristown. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Clemmons United Methodist Church with the Rev. David L. Baxter, the Rev. Allan Wright, the Rev. Karla Farabow and the Rev. David Cunha officiating. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel in Advance. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Debbie Burchett Breast Cancer Fund, Clemmons United Methodist Church, 3700 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC 27102. CAMPBELL
PURLEAR -- Mrs. Iola Church Campbell, 81, of Purlear Road, widow of Edward Montroe Campbell died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Fellman Cheek officiating. Burial will be in the Church of Christ Cemetery in the Rock Creek community. Mrs. Campbell was born in Ashe County, June 8, 1919, to Will D. and Mary Phillips Church. She was a member of the Church of Christ in the Rock Creek community. Mrs. Campbell is survived by two daughters, Kaye Reid of Purlear and Jane Bouchelle of North Wilkesboro; two sons, Bobby Campbell of North Wilkesboro and James E. Campbell, PhD of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Leida Vannoy of Purlear, Josephine Blackburn of Millers Creek and Kathleen C. Harrison of Elizabethton, Tenn.; three brothers, Hal Church of Winston-Salem, Guy Church of Millers Creek and Kyle Church of Rock Hill, S.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 10 to 11 prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Bless Their Hearts, c/o Sharon Bouchelle, 113, Gentry St. Apt. 15, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Bless Their Hearts is a non-profit organization for persons with congenital heart defects. Their goal is to offer scholarships, annual week long day camp to encourage blood and organ donations to help families of CHD patients with hotels and meals during hospital stays. The long term goal is to help fund CHD research. These donations will be in honor of Sharon Bouchelle, Mrs. Campbell's granddaughter, who is a recipient of a heart and lung transplant. Ms. Bouchelle is on the board of directors and vice chairman of Bless Their Hearts.

CHURCH
TOBACCOVILLE -- Mrs. Hazel Reeves Church, 88, formerly of Purlear, Wilkes County and recently residing in Forsyth County died Dec. 30, 2000, at the High Point Regional Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Wilkes County, she was born June 12, 1912, to the late Mitchell and Jennie Hacket Reeves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Harrison Reeves. On July 6, 1935, she married Richard Ray Church, with whom she spent more than 65 wonderful years. Her family was the center of her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her husband of the home; her daughter, Jewel C. McInnis and husband William of High Point; her son, Benny M. Church and wife Phyllis of the home; three granddaughters, Barbara J. Cannon of High Point, Patsy Y. Cannon of Huddleston, Va. and Catherine C. Shallow and husband Rodney of Germanton; a grandson, Richard L. Church of Winston-Salem; and a great-grandson, Mitchell E. Church and his mother, Euna W. Church of Rural Hall. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Zeno Groce officiating. There will not be a public visitation or viewing at the funeral home, however, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Gideons International, 2900 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN 37214. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and nursing assist ants who lovingly and tenderly cared for our loved one. CRANFILL
YADKINVILLE -- Mr. B. Stephen Cranfill, 32, of Styers Mill Road died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at his home. Mr. Cranfill was born Feb. 25, 1968, in Yadkin County to Burley C. Cranfill and the late Lois Cranfill Cornelius. He was employed with Greg's Painting Co. and was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church in Yadkinville. Surviving are his wife, Christy Brannon Cranfill of Yadkinville; two sons, Bradley Stephen Cranfill and Colby Seth Cranfill of Yadkinville; his father of Yadkinville; a sister, Janice Cantrell of Yadkinville; a niece, Brittany Morawitz of Weaverville; and a nephew, Joshua Morawitz of Yadkinville. His funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Bruce Freeman. Burial will follow in the Peace Haven Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Highway 601 N., Yadkinville.

DAVIS
EAST BEND -- Mrs. Geneva Lineberry Davis, 88, of 3913 Mount Bethel Church Road passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Yadkin County Dec. 31, 1911, to Doc and Myrtle Sears Lineberry. She was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, William Fred Davis and a granddaughter, Pam Davis Garcia. Surviving are two daughters, Ann Davis Long and Myrtle Davis Freeman of East Bend; three sons, Howard June Davis of Clemmons, Bobby B. Davis of Yadkinville and William R. Davis of East Bend; a sister, Callie Logan of Winston-Salem; three brothers, Everett ''Beauty'' Lineberry, Lawrence ''Codger'' Lineberry and Frank Lineberry all of East Bend; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Huff Funeral Home Chapel in East Bend by the Rev. Jerry Atkins and the Rev. Ottis Hurst. Burial will follow in the Mount Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

DREW
Mr. John Reese Drew Jr., 44, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Drew was born May 25, 1956, to John Reese Drew Sr. and Alice Zimmer Drew in Johnstown, Pa. He was retired from the U.S. Army. Mr. Drew enjoyed golf, cooking, gardening and reading. Mr. Drew was of the Presbyterian faith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Alice Jean Zimmer Drew. Surviving are his wife, Alexandra Drew of the home; two daughters, Melanie and Maike of the home; a son, Jeremy of the home; his father, John Reese Drew Sr. of Winston-Salem; and two aunts and uncles, Karen and John Bowden of Springfield, Va. and Rosemarie and Edward Zimmer of Johnstown, Pa. A graveside funeral service will be conducted with full military honors at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. Maggi Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel and other times the family can be contacted at Mr. John Drew Sr.'s home at 815 Westview Drive, Winston-Salem. The family wishes to acknowledge the many remem brances of lifelong friends.
