SMITH
ADVANCE -- Mr. John D. Smith, 61, of 801 South, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2000, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Mr. Smith was born March 31, 1939, to the late J.D. and Ferol Ogletree Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Smith. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith and a faithful employee of Crown Wood for 17 years. He is survived by his mother , Maggie S. Shook of Hildabran; three brothers, Robert H., James A. and David C. Smith; a sister, Patricia G. Smith; and several nieces and nephews that were very special to him. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Rose Cemetery with the Rev. Shelby Harbour and the Rev. Dwight Durham officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Davie Funeral Service Chapel. Memorials can be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Chair man, P.O. Box 182, Mocksville, NC 27028. Davie Funeral Service, LLC, 416 Valley Road, Mocksville, NC 27028 will be serving the Smith family.

SMITH
HARMONY -- Mr. William Floyd Smith, 70, of Butler Mill Road died Monday, July 31, at Statesville Brian Center. Brother of John B. Smith and Lee Roy Smith of Harmony, Glenn B. Smith of Concord, Bondelia Wooten of Harmony, Molly Jo McClamrock of Mocksville and Wilma R. Smith of Dobson. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. this evening at Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony Chapel. Visitation will follow the service in the chapel. Entombment will be at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

TITTSWORTH
Mr. Larry Clifton Tittsworth, 62, of Yadkinville passed away Monday, July 31, 2000, at his home. He was born July 20, 1938, in Tennessee, to the Rev. Clifton A. Tittsworth and the late Carrie R. Tittsworth. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Earle Tittsworth, in 1996 and two children, Denise Tittsworth and Larry Tittsworth Jr. Surviving in addition to his father are his daughter, Karen T. Wilson and husband Rick; a granddaughter, Stephanie Wilson; a grandson, Gage ''Nubbin'' Wilson; a brother, William Tittsworth and wife Rita; and a sister, Elaine Beck and husband Dick. Mr. Tittsworth had recently retired from Wake Forest University after 35 years of service. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. Keith Russell officiating. Memorials may be made to Wake Forest University, 1834 Wake Forest Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27109. Vogler and Sons Reynolda Road Chapel is serving the family.

TUDOR
WALNUT COVE -- Mr. James Green Tudor, 84, of 4303 N.C. Highway 772, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at the Britthaven Nursing Home in Madison. A native of Patrick County, Va., he was born Oct. 18, 1915, the son of the late William Barney Tudor and the late Sarah Allie Freeman Tudor. He was a longtime farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elva Joyce Tudor; a brother, Herbert Tudor; and two sisters, Odessa and Addie Tudor. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dillia Rogers Hall Tudor of the home; two sons, James G. Tudor Jr. of Walkertown and Tom Tudor of Charlotte; four daughters, Rebecca Tucker of Madison, Glenda Poindexter of Graham, Margaret Bowman of King and Bonnie Jean Tudor of Durham; a stepson, Marion Hall of Lawsonville; two brothers, Ralph and Billy Tudor both of Eden; a half brother, Earl Tudor of Collinsville, Va.; a stepsister, Jennie Corns Miller of Stuart; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church, Highway 770, Sandy Ridge with Elders Millard Shelton and James Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Howell Funeral Home, Stuart, Va., at the home of his wife or at the home of his daughter, Rebecca Tucker, 2894 E. NC Highway 704, Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church or to the church cemetery fund, c/o Harold Mabe, 3584 NC Highway S., Danbury, NC 27106. WINFIELD
Mrs. Sandra Denise Harper Winfield, 37, of 2727 Ansonia St. , passed away Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was a native and resident of Winston-Salem and was of the Baptist faith. Sandra was a graduate of Parkland High School, class of 1981 and received an associate degree from Forsyth Technical College. She was the manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken on Liberty Street. She is survived by her son, James Rico Harper; her husband, Bennie Winfield; two grandsons, Tyrec Rico Harper and Semaj D. Harper; her dear mother, Elsie Harper Durham (Roosevelt); three uncles, Curtis Dunlap (Trisha), Luke Harper and Jimmie Harper; devoted friends, Eugene Cook, Tina Beatty and George; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at noon at the chapel of the Russell Funeral Home with the Bishop James Hinton officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at the funeral home. (RUSSELL)

ANDRIS
BURLINGTON -- Joseph ''Joe'' James Andris II, 84, of 1515 Von Bora Court died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Joseph James Andris I and the late Anna McLaughlin Andris. He was a retired police officer for the Philadelphia Police Department and later was employed as an insurance salesman for Minnesota Mutual in St. Paul, Minn. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 328 W. Davis St., Burlington. The Franciscan Friars of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church will be leading the services. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Helen Thompson Andris; a son, James Andrew Andris; a sister, Helen Cramsie; and a brother, John Andris. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Paula Alspaugh Andris of the home; a son, Dr. Joseph James Andris III of Tiburon, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Steve (Pat) Lee of Fuquay-Varina and Mrs. Steve (Gale) Tate of Conyers, Ga.; a stepson, Chuck (Treva) Osborne of Greensboro; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Anna O'Neil of Barrington, N.J., Mrs. Teresa Olinger of Glen Olden, Pa. and Mrs. Patricia Walsh of Philadelphia; and three brothers, William Andris of Cherry Hill, Pa., Charles Andris of Quaker Town, Pa. and Paul Andris of Philadelphia. Mr. Andris will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church for the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. There will be a Catholic Prayer Service held at 8 p.m. The family will also receive friends other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes Auxiliary Fund, c/o Twin Lakes Center, 100 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC 27215 and Roman Catholic High School Alumnus Fund, Broad and Vine Streets, Philadelphia, Pa. 19107.

BRANCH
Mr. Steven ''Steve'' Wayne Branch, 35, of Winston-Salem died Aug. 30, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born Oct. 5, 1964, in Forsyth County to Donald Ray and Phyllis Miller Branch. Mr. Branch was employed at Olympic Packaging and worked in the shipping and receiving department. He enjoyed baseball, football and NASCAR. Surviving are his parents of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Carolyn Branch of Winston-Salem; a sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Mark Rogers of Winston-Salem; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Vernice Miller of Winston-Salem; a special niece and nephew, Corey and Jessica Rogers; and several aunts and uncles. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Zeno Groce officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

BULLINS
WALNUT COVE -- On Aug. 31, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, the Lord called our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Emma Bullins, to her heavenly home, freeing her from all her earthly pain. She was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Stokes County to the late Edward and Mamie Kiser White. Granny Lib, as she was affectionately known to all, was a homemaker and caregiver for her mother until her death in 1988 and her youngest sister until her death in 1994. She was a member of Union Gospel Baptist Church. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were a brother, Bill White; sisters Dessa Mae Ring, Nannie Reese, Myrtle Jean Loflin and Pansy Gammons; and a half sister, Virgie Manring. She leaves to cherish her loving memory a sister, Helen (William) Greene of Walnut Cove; two devoted daughters, Lillie Mae Brown of the home and Linda Hepler of Walnut Cove; two loving sons, Roy (Debbie) Hopkins of Belews Creek and Bobby Hopkins of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Burroughs Funeral Home. The Rev. Darrell Hampton will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friend from 7 to 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of Terry and Lisa Brown on Brown Plantation Road, off Piney Mountain Road in Walnut Cove.

CAMPBELL
HARMONY -- Mrs. Ila Mae Campbell of 563 Mullis Road, Harmony, died at her home Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000. She was 69 years of age. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ila Mae was born on March 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Bernice Trivette. She was raised by her late Grandpa and Grandma Johnson. She was educated in Iredell County schools. She was a homemaker and a children's Sunday school teacher at Wesley Chapel for many years. Not only did she love her own family but she and Dad had an extended family of 17 foster children. Together Ila Mae and Luther owned and operated their family business, Family Crafts. You will be missed dar ling, goodbye ''Precious.'' Mrs. Campbell was married to Luther E. Campbell Sr. who survives. Also surviving are a son, Luther Jr. (Kathy) of Maiden; three daughters, Rachel (Steve) Stadfeld of Harmony, Edith (Jimmy) Moose of Statesville and Carolyn (David) Ellis of Hamptonville; six grandchildren, Ila and Rebecca Stadfeld, Michael Moose, Raymond Ellis, Michelle (Craig) Bess and Angel (John) Buchanan; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Rae Bess and Payton Ellis Buchanan; three step-great-grandchildren, Rachel and Victoria Henderson. Also suviving are six sisters, Christine (Willie) Marting, Bonnie Sue (Hugh) Moose, Glenda (Eldon) Renegar, Florence (Jimmy) Garner, Mae (Homer) Jordan and Phyllis Parker (Gary Stikeleather); a brother, Paul Trivette. Also surviving are aunts, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Hamptonville. She will lie in state from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Kathy Earley, the Rev. Clarence Dellinger, the Rev. Alvin Jones, the Rev. Bill Waters and nephew Willie Martin Jr. (M.A.C.E). Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville. Pallbearers will be grandsons Raymond Ellis, Michael Moose, Kris Dragon, nephew Jonathan Campbell, foster son Gene Johnson and friend Justin Barron. Two honorary pallbearers will be longtime friend Lee Holcomb and great-grandson Hunter Rae Bess. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville. At other times the family will assemble at the residence on Mullis Road. For those who prefer, memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel Building Fund, 358 Union Grove Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020 or to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Ila Mae Campbell. Because of Mrs. Campbell's illness, an early 50th wedding anniversary celebration was held Aug. 6 to 8 at Myrtle Beach, S.C. Seventeen family members traveled together to the Crown Reef Hotel. There we enjoyed fun, food and lots of good quality family time. A lot of new memories were made and old memories shared. Thanks, Mom and Dad. We Love You. Your chil dren.

GARNER
Mrs. Emma Lillian Everidge Garner, 73, of East Brookline Street died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Forsyth County to Cisero and Emma Sugg Everidge. Mrs. Garner was a member of Berean Baptist Church. In March 1989, she retired from Sara Lee Knit Product Division after 36 years of service. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert ''Bobby'' William Garner Jr.; her sister, Myrtle Everidge; and her brother, Joseph Everidge. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Keith Garner and wife Susie of Winston-Salem; four daughters, Jodi Renee Hall and husband Chris of Charlotte, Janice Hodges and husband Randy of Winston-Salem, Janie Carolyn Garner of Winston-Salem and Jo Ann Stegall and husband Rick of Lexington; a special daughter-in-law, Jackie Garner of Winston-Salem; nine grandchildren, Kim Peacock and husband Andy of Germanton, Tracy Garner of Winston-Salem, Stacie Marsh and husband Tom of Seagrove, Stephanie Benson and husband Gary of Clemmons, Heather Lewis and husband Jim of High Point, Jennifer Garner of Pilot Mountain and Christian Hall, Aaron Hall and Jordan Hall all of Charlotte; a great-grandchild, Bailey Lewis of High Point; and a special friend, Charles Becknell of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel by a dear friend, the Rev. Danny Hauser. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
