MYERS
Ms. Virginia Elizabeth Myers found her eternal peace on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000. She had lived at 201 N. Sunset Drive in Winston-Salem for 12 years before illness required her move to Winston-Salem Rehab and Health Care Center on First Street on June 4, 1999. Virginia was born June 23, 1908, in Sumter, S.C., to Thomas S. Myers and Virginia D. Harris. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired from the Veteran s Administration. She was a volunteer and member of the Humane Society and dearly loved animals. She was of the Catholic faith and affiliated with Our Lady of Fatima and St. Leo's Catholic Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Walter, Thomas Leroy and Webster; and three sisters, Marie, Idell and Margaret. Surviving are special nieces, Catherine M. Rambo of Lexington, Ky., and Mary Wright Mungall of Seneca, S.C.; her dear godchild, Gemma Saluta of Winston-Salem; her nephew's widow, Martha Stancil St. George of Matthews; and her dear friend and spiritual adviser, Father Jessie Creel of St. Albans, N.Y. Special friends that will miss her very much include, Evelyn Smith, the Saluta family, Rose Voegele and Linda Bradham, all of Winston-Salem, Dr. William and Karen Harrison of Davie County and Jim Pegram of Bethania. Arrangements were handled by Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel and her remains are interred in the Myers family plot in Elmwood Cemetery in Charlotte. There will a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at the Hospice Home Chapel, with Chaplain Fred Moretz officiating. Memorial are requested to be made to Hospice of Winston-Salem, 1100-C S. Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

SHELTON
LEWISVILLE -- Mr. Dallas Cleveland Shelton, 78, of Lewisville, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Forsyth County to William Benjamine and Carrie Boyer Shelton. Mr. Shelton served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of Pfafftown United Church of Christ, and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, Dallas C. Shelton Jr. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy P. Shelton of the home; two sons, Bobby Eugene Shelton and wife Lucia of Winston-Salem and Clyde Allen Shelton of the home; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 in Pfafftown Christian Cemetery, with the Rev. Ricky Hamann officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, 1100-C. S. Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27013-3200. The Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

SPROUSE
RURAL HALL -- Mrs. Rebecca Ann Campbell Sprouse, 44, of Jefferson Woods Drive died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, following a three and a half year battle with cancer. She was born in York County, S.C., on Jan. 16, 1956, the daughter of Virginia Joanne Sailors Campbell and the late Claude Terry Campbell. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rural Hall. She and her husband were missionaries to Brazil with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. She was a former high-school math teacher in Gaffney, S.C., Columbus, N.C., and Whiteville, N.C. Surviving are her husband of 24 years, Rev. Benny Sprouse; one daughter, Emily Sprouse; and one son, Carl Sprouse, all of the home; her mother and stepfather, Joann and Jerry Annas of Ellenboro; two sisters, Lynn McDaniel of Kernersville and Terri Frashier and husband Todd of Forest City; two step-sisters, Teresa Annas and Twana Padgett, both of Shelby; two step-brothers, Talent Annas of Shelby and Tracy Annas of Gaffney, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1979. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at First Baptist Church of Rural Hall by the Rev. Don Harvey and the Rev. Mike Ennis. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellenboro, N.C. Mrs. Sprouse will be taken to First Baptist Church of Rural Hall at 5 p.m. Sunday where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rural Hall, Bethany Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, Florence Baptist Church in Forest City, or Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Florence Baptist Church in Forest City, N.C. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Rural Hall Chapel are assisting the Sprouse family with arrangements and services.

TRIVETTE
N. WILKESBORO -- Mr. Charles Gurney Trivette, 60, of Jim McCarter Road, N. Wilkesboro, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Gwyn Kilby and the Rev. Ken Pardue officiating. Burial with Military Rites by Post #1142 of Veterans of Foreign Wars will be at Mountlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Trivette was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Watauga County to Paul and Mae Walker Trivette. He was a self-employed painter. Mr. Trivette served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Madeline Miller Trivette of the home; one daughter, Denise Wiles of N. Wilkesboro; one son, Rickey Charles Trivette of N. Wilkesboro; two sisters, Betty Olah of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Norma Hamby of Purlear; three brothers, Paul Trivette Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas, Kenneth Trivette of Chapel Hill and Harrold Trivette of Purlear; and two grandchildren. The family will be at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in N. Wilkesboro Sunday night from 7 to 9.

WEIR
Dallas M. Weir, 82, of Winston-Salem, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1918, in Forsyth County to George A. and Irene Linville Wear. Mr. Weir was a member of First United Church of Christ. He was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from the parts department of Frolic Cadillac Co. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Wilmoth L. Weir of the home; a son, Mark Weir and wife Gail of Mocksville; two daughters, Carolyn W. Beck of Winston-Salem and Martha W. Williams and husband Jeep of Pfafftown; four grandchildren, Nick and Adam Weir, Julie Beck Chriscoe and husband Steve, and Jodie Williams; a great-grandson, Dylan Chriscoe; a sister, Marymena Flynt of Winston-Salem; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Christa Warise. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel. Memorials may be made to First United Church of Christ, 1912, Waughtown Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.

WILLARD
BOONVILLE -- Mrs. Jettie Rae Davis Willard, 76, of Rockford Road, a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Yadkin County to the late Tyre and Mary Jane Duggins Davis. She was a homemaker and a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to her family. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, John Willard Jr.; six sisters; and a brother. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Willard of the home; a daughter, Janice Carolyn (Greg) Willard Cox of Wilkesboro; sons Joseph Allen (Linda) Willard of Boonville, Thomas Ray (Faye) Willard of Hamptonville, and Mickey Steven (Christine) Willard of Boonville; two sisters, Marie (Royce) Davis of Boonville and Violet (Fred) Forrestt of East Bend; a brother, Fred G. (Mary) Davis of Boonville; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4 at Gentry Family Chapel with Brother Lawrence Warden and Brother Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Highway 601 North in Yadkinville.

WILLIAMS
LEWISVILLE -- Blanche Crews Craft Williams, 87, of Lewisville was called home by her beloved Lord and Saviour on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000. She was born Jan. 16, 1913, to T.A. and Sue Styers Craft. She had been in declining health for several years and was preceded in death by her husband, William Hollingsworth ''Hollie'' Williams Sr.; and sisters, Lucille Holleman, Millie Moser, Edna Craft, Elma Doss, and Lucy and Margaret Sheets; and brothers, Clem, Joseph, Thomas, and Roy Craft. Surviving are one sister, Alberta Parker of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Catherine Williams Floyd of Lewisville; a son, William H. ''Bill'' Williams Jr. of Lewisville; granddaughters, Christine (Pat) Shehan of Clemmons, Charlene (Michael) Craver of Lexington, Marsha Floyd of Winston-Salem, Michelle Hege of Clemmons, Amber Williams of Charlotte, and Amanda Williams of Syracuse, N.Y.; a grandson, Josh Shehan; great-grandchildren, Ashley Royall, Hollie Bennett, Kayla Bennett, Mary Ann Craver, and Michael John Craver; a very special friend, Peggy Jones; and a multitude of nephews and nieces. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker and for many years was very active in the Lewisville community in the Lewisville Homemakers Club, Lewisville Garden Club, and the Lewisville Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She was well-known for her outstanding sewing, baking, and gardening skills. Her favorite activity in addition to her family, involved her lifelong membership at Lewisville Baptist Church, where she was a faithful nursery worker and children's Sunday School teacher for more than 50 years and was involved in many groups within the church family. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 by the Rev. Jeff Priest and Dr. Joe Coltrane at Lewisville Baptist Church, with burial following the service. She will be buried in the church cemetery among her family. Pallbearers will be Charles Hauser and Joe Roselli of Lewisville and nephews Perry Craft of Lewisville, Reid Alan Craft of Raleigh, and Nick and Joseph Williams of Wilmington, Del. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Lewisville Baptist Church, 125 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, NC 27023 and/or the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. They also extend their deepest appreciation for the love, compassion, and outstanding care of Dr. Samuel Lentz, Dr. Britt Beaver, Dr. Anna Imhoff, and the staff of 3 West at N.C. Baptist Hospital, the staff of Senior Services of Winston-Salem, and the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

WILLIS
Laurence E. Willis passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, in Clemmons. He was born in North Haverhill, N.H., July 13, 1914, to the late Clarence and May Willis of Woodsville, N.H. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lillie Willis; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Peter Slattery of East Granby, Conn.; three grandsons, Rory Wheelock and spouse Tammy of Clemmons, Bryan Wheelock of Vernon, Conn., and Brett Wheelock and spouse Pam of Coventry, Conn.; two granddaughters, Wendy Ho Sing Loy and spouse Michael of Tavernier, Fla., and Sheri Sauls and spouse Allen of Gibsonton, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren. His brothers, Erwin and Linwood Willis of Woodsville, N.H., preceded him in death. Mr. Willis lived in the North Haverhill/Woodsville area of New Hampshire until 1950 when he and his family moved to Vernon, Conn. He was a mechanic at Pratt & Whitney until 1960 and then worked for Lewis-Boyle until his retirement in 1976. After his retirement he and his wife, Lillie, traveled throughout the United States and Canada in their motor home until 1978 when they settled in Ruskin, Fla. Mr. Willis was a 31-year member of the Loyal Order of Moose. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Woodsville Cemetery in Woodsville, N.H. Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, 1100-C S., Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the family.

WILSON
PFAFFTOWN -- Mrs. Nellie Hollandsworth Wilson, 64, of 4745 Sherborn Drive went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000. She was born May 4, 1936, in Franklin County to the Alfred Green and the late Ethel Prillaman Hollandsworth. Mrs. Wilson was a member of North Point Baptist Church and was employed with Womble, Carlyle Sandridge and Rice Law Firm for 24 years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Gayle Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Herman Leon Wilson of the home; a son, Michael L. Wilson and wife Donna J. of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter, Morgan Wilson; a grandson, Lucas Wilson; a sister, Mrs. Mattie H. Robertson of Bassett, Va.; and two brothers, James and Joe Hollandsworth, both of Martinsville, Va. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at North Point Baptist Church by Pastor Skip Furrow. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3298, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or to Senior Services, 836 Oak St., Tobacco Square, Suite 320, Winston-Salem, NC 27101-1407.

CAYCE
PEORIA, Ariz. -- Mrs. Barbara Cayce, 80, died Oct. 1, 2000, at Boswell Hospital. She was born in Los Angeles and moved to Arizona from North Carolina in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Hills Country Club and Westbrook Village Bridge Club. Surviving are her husband, Patrick W. Cayce of Peoria; sons Gerald W. Cayce of Winston-Salem and Patrick H. Cayce of Lakeforest, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 , at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, Ariz. There will be a private service. Burial will be in Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, Ariz.
