Beckman, attended Bradley University, Marine Corps veteran of Korean War, retired IBM branch manager of the midtown Manhattan and Charlotte offices, copier specialist and member of customer executive education staff, president of Kings College, Charlotte, past president of Charlotte Sales and Marketing Executives, twice past president of Lake Wylie Chamber of Commerce, member of Alpine Lodge No. 208, the Oasis Temple of the Shrine, Charlotte, musician since 15, founding member of the Queen City Stompers.
