Greene Post 155, member for 53 years, member of VFW and Amvets, retired from sales and management in automobile business after 52 years, member of Chevrolet Motor Divisions Legion of Leaders for 24 years, Air Force veteran of World War II.

She was a native of Cleveland County, wife of the late William Lawrence Logan, daughter of the late Clarence Tracy and Della Turner Cornwell, charter member of Kings Mountain Baptist Church, Kings Mountain Woman’s Club, Town and Country Garden Club of Kings Mountain and Thursday Afternoon Book Club, published, award-winning poet.

She was a native of Lancaster, S.C., daughter of the late Everette and Pearl Emma Usher Small, wife of the late Kenneth Robert Pinkard, mother of the late George Cecil Cooke Jr., homemaker, member of First Presbyterian Church of Gastonia.
SURVIVORS: Son, Hugh Maurice Tompkins, Morganton; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren

She was a native of Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late James Gleason and Helen Corll Head, 1948 graduate of Ashtabula High School, Ashtabula, Ohio, retired in 1987 as executive secretary from UAL Inc., Chicago, moved to Conover in 1988 from Arlington Heights, Ill., traveled extensively, author of "History and Genealogy of Samuel Sylvanus, Margaret and Rudisill Mauney", "The Descendants of John Pinkney, Margaret Paulina and Carpenter Dellinger", started annual Dellinger Cousins Luncheon, compiled booklet "100 Courthouses of N.C.," active member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, served as secretary and on congregational council, chancel choir, call committee, substitute secretary, member of Senior Citizens Group, Women of ELCA, compiled and edited church cookbook "Cooking with Faith."
