She was a native of Hartwell, Ga., daughter of the late Elbert Lee and Bertie Dunn Sanders, wife of the late Guy Rodgers and Norman Bell, mother of the late Willie S. Helms, sister of the late Horace Sr., Levis "Footsie" and James C. Sanders, Annie S. Martin; mother-in-law of the late Ruth Ledford Sanders, she lived in Dahlonega, Ga., moving to Belmont following the death of Norman Bell, attended East Belmont Church of God, retired from Piedmont Processing Co.
SURVIVORS: Son, Fred Sanders, Iron Station; sisters, Ruth Ashe, Blowing Rock, Inez McCarn, Mount Holly, Louise Watts, Belmont; grandchildren, Juanita Kirk, Sylvia Cloninger, Freida Good, Charles Helms, Phyllis Sutphin, Tony Sanders; 19 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren

MOUNT HOLLY — Mae Hope Miller, 87, recently of 1735 Toddville Road, Charlotte, formerly of 1107 Hickory Grove Road, Mount Holly, died Nov. 28, 1999, at Charlotte Health Care Center.
She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Christopher C. and Margaret Lawing Hope, sister of the late Harry D. Hope Sr., wife of the late Marvin J. Miller, graduated from Mount Holly High School, retired from Belmont Heritage, member of East Belmont Baptist Church, worked for many years in the children’s department, choir.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Doris H. Jenkins, Belmont; brother, Ray Hope, Mount Holly; nieces and nephews

She was a native of Queens County, N.Y., daughter of the late George E. and Helen J. Costigan, mother-in-law of the late Wayne Garver, sister of the late Carol Lyons and Clare Miller, graduate of Dominican Commercial High School, member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, choir, Confraternity of Christian Women.
