He was a native of Haywood County, son of the late Dever Rubin and Daisy Mae Taylor Fletcher, husband of the late Mary Lee Kimble Fletcher, attended Missionary Methodist Church, retired from Burlington Ind.
SURVIVORS: Son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Nannie Fletcher, Kings Mountain; brother, Howard Fletcher, Leicester; sister, Birdie Burns, Waller, Tenn.; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren

Margaret L. Ellis
CROUSE — Margaret Jean Imogene Lail Ellis, 70, 2032 Kollege Lane, died Jan. 9, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital.
She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Harrison and Bertha Yount Lail, retired from Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. (A&P Grocery Store) after 43 years of service, member of East Garrison Baptist Church for 33 years, where she was a secretary of her Sunday School class and was active in the Women’s Missionary Union.
SURVIVORS: Husband of 53 years, Charles Ellis; son, Terry Ellis Sr., Mount Holly; daughter, Margaret Charlene Ellis Kinsey, Crouse; sister, Celena Lail Garrison, Crouse; grandchildren, Terry Jr., Brooke and Charles Matthew Ellis, Derek and Wendy Ellis Register; great-grandchild, Hanna Ellis

FALLSTON — Ernest Cecil Wright, 71, 203 Charolais Drive, P.O. Box 6, died Jan. 10, 2000, at Hospice of Cleveland County.
He was a native of Cleveland County, son of the late Ernest Doc and Della Sweezy Wright, brother of the late Harvey and Loy Wright, Vatha Fullerton, owner and operator of Wright’s Jewelry Store, Nationwide Insurance agent for 40 years, graduate of Fallston High School, lifetime member of Friendship United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men, N.C. Association of Fire Chiefs, Upper Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Fallston Masonic Lodge #396, charter member of board of directors of Upper Cleveland County Rescue, Fallston Community Volunteer Fire Dept., where he was fire chief and chairman of the board of directors, former member of Fallston Lions Club, Cleveland County Board of Adjustment, Wagon Wheelers Western Square Dance Club, helped organize the Carolina Fun Dancers.

Tilson, member of Westview Baptist Church and Unity Baptist Church, where she had taught the four and five-year-old class of mission friends and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union.
