He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late David Webb and Alma Hawkins Beam, retired postmaster from U.S. Postal Service, Cherryville, after 43 years of service, Army veteran of World War II, member of First Presbyterian Church, Men’s Bible Class, Sunday school teacher, usher, treasurer of Presbyterian Men, served as Elder, member of Cherryville American Legion Post 100, Cherryville Zoning Board, Cherryville Rotary Club, Cherryville Masonic Lodge No. 505, served as Chaplain, member of Oasis Temple of Charlotte, Cherryville Shrine Club, served as past president, member of Valley of Charlotte, 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason Honorary, past president of Cherryville Country Club, active in community, civic and school activities.

She was a native of Marion, daughter of the late Charlie Bill and Nannie McKinney Mills, mother of the late Bruce Sisk, Kathy Canipe, member of Westover Baptist Church, retired textile employee.

He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late James Talmadge and Lizzie Mae Hamilton Belcher, member of New Life Family Worship Center, Kings Mountain, where he served on the Board of Counselors, 1958 graduate of Belmont Abbey College, retired after 35 years of service as a district supervisor in the audit department for the N.C. Department of Revenue, staff sergeant in U.S. Army Security Agency during the Korean War.
