GREENVILLE — Ralph A. Gardner, 64, died Feb. 20, 2000.
He was a native of Gaston County, lived his early life in Belmont, worked in broadcasting for 25 years, managed and owned radio stations, developed Carolina School of Broadcasting in Greenville in the 1970s which he operated for many years, operated Gardner’s Discount Outlet for the past five years, member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Nina Williams Gardner; daughter, Tamara Gardner Stouffer, Farmville; sons, Keith R. and Tony Gardner, Greenville; sister, Lois Gardner, Mount Holly; five grandchildren; one great-grandson

She was a native of Murphy, daughter of the late William Riley and Dolly Morrow Radford, sister of the late Gary, Arthur, Garland, Charlie and Dora Radford, Mamie Garrett, Gertrude Farmer, last surviving member of her immediate family, came to Gaston County at a young age to work in textile mills, worked in shell factories during World War II.
