Mitchell, graduate of East Carolina Teachers College, taught for 30 years at East Belmont Elementary School, which was later named for her late husband J.B. Page who was principal, member of First Baptist Church of Belmont for 76 years, taught a ladies Sunday school class for more than 50 years, recently attended First Presbyterian Church, Gastonia.
