She was a native of York County, S.C., daughter of the late Walter Grady and Margaret Faries Wallace, wife of the late William Blair McCarley Sr., mother of the late Margaret Ann and William Blair McCarley Jr., retired in 1997 as personnel director from Gaston County after more than 50 years of service, 1947 graduate of Ashley High School.

He was a native of Henderson, son of the late William P. and Sophie Poole Ridout Sr., husband of the late Willie Thompson Ridout, graduate of Central High School, University of Minnesota, electricians’ mate 2nd class in Navy during World War II on the USS Birmingham, awarded Victory Medal, Purple Heart and two stars, life member of American Legion 262 and DAV, owner operator of Lakeview Self Service for 50 years.
