He was a native of Gastonia, son of the late Paul A. and Mary Elsie Wilson Titman, beloved to many friends and family in South Shore, Hyde Park and North Carolina, received BS and master of science from UNC Chapel-Hill, Ph.D. from Harvard and University of Connecticut, professor at Chicago Teacher’s College, retired from Chicago State University, served in military intelligence during World War II, 1942-46, received the Bronze Star for bravery, spoke English, French and German, active member of the American Horticultural Society, Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, UNC Alumni, Harvard Society.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday, Edgewood Cemetery
VISITATION: Following service, in the parlor of Lowell Presbyterian Church
