She was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Rose Adams McLean, educated at Gastonia High School, attended Queens College, Charlotte, moved to Saxapahaw in the early 1930s, retired from Sellers Manufacturing Co., relocated to Burlington in early 1970s, active member of Saxapahaw United Methodist Church.

He was a native of Bakersville, son of the late Nimpson and Lillie Callahan Bailey, real estate broker, earned law degree from Wake Forest College in 1951, Air Force veteran, 77th Bomb Squadron 11th Air Force, POW in Japan during World War II, past commander Gaston County POWs, member of VFW, Last Man Club, Myers Memorial Methodist Church.
