She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Harry and Rose Mae Jamerson, graduate of Cleveland High School, attended Knoxville College, retired as lab analyst from Hoechst Celanese Corp. after 25 years of service, served as southwestern district president for the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, Audacian Club Sister, Foothill Herb Society, chief judge of the Board of Elections, Red Cross board member, member of Nancy Wilson Mission Group, co-founder of Kingstown Senior Citizens.
