He was a native of Winston-Salem, son of the late William T. and Alice Franklin Wilson, husband of the late Jane Myers Wilson, longtime Lincolnton attorney, former judge, graduate of West End School and Calvin Wiley, Winston-Salem, Davidson College, received juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina Law School at Chapel Hill in 1945, practiced law in Lincolnton for 45 years, retired in 1995, instrumental in establishing Lincoln County’s first law library, authored with his wife McIntosh North Carolina Practice and Procedure which was published by West Publishing Co., captain in Army during World War II, active in Boy Scouting and Chamber of Commerce, member of Kiwanis Club, First United Methodist Church, worked with youth, avid yachtsman and gardener.
