He worked for A&P food corporation as an assistant manager, member of the Lions Club, served as chief of the volunteer firefighters for Dallas, member of the First United Methodist Church, Dallas, where he served as church school secretary, chairman of the Board of Trustees, and member of the Upper Room Class.
