Smart, retired certified nursing assistant at Valdese General Hospital, member of Springfield Baptist Church, Dallas.

She was a native of Laurens County, S.C., former resident of Anderson, S.C., and Wilmington, daughter of the late Robert Martin and Tempie Blackstone Bolt, wife of the late John Thompson Chalmers, member of First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, homemaker.

GASTONIA - Patricia Ann Wolf Huffman, 64, 123 Sequnia Drive, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Dickerson County, Kansas, daughter of the late Floyd and Hilda Leckron Wolf, owner and operator of Dallas Dairy Queen, member of Dallas Four Square Gospel Church.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Donald Huffman; sons, Michael Leroy Huffman, Dallas, Randal Don Huffman, Clover, S.C.; daughter, Sandra Huffman Fork, Gastonia; brothers, Bill Wolf, Russellville, Ark., Paul Dean Wolf, Texas, Raymond Wolf, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

RAY MORETZ
DAYTON, Tenn. — Ray Louis Moretz, 74, died Sept. 20, 2000. He was the son of the late G.C. and Florence Moretz, served in the Merchant Marine during World War II, survived a shipwreck, started retail business in Colorado, farmed in East Texas, developed mining claims in the Colorado mountains.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Nell W. Moretz; son, Stephen Moretz, Dayton; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and William Leydorf, Loudon, Tenn.; daughters, Laura Moretz, Dayton, Miriam Moretz, Hixson, Tenn.; siblings, Marietta Byrd, Gastonia, Nat Moretz, Charlotte; Harold and Alpheus Pasour, Dallas, Paul and Sue Moretz, Bessemer City, Carrie Moretz, Lake Placid, Fla.; grandsons, Brad Leydorf, Cincinnati, Mark Leydorf, New York; and beloved pets, Tom, Mr. C, Holly and Brandy.
