KINGS MOUNTAIN — Marian Knox Breakefield, 78, White Oak Manor, died Oct. 1, 2000 at her residence.
She was a native of Clover S.C., daughter of the late John Jackson and Viola McCarter Knox, wife of the late J.C. Breakefield. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain, retired from the Gaston Gazette where she was an accounting clerk.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Margaret Knox Aderholdt, Kings Mountain; brother, Jacob R. Knox, Catawba, S.C.; granddaughters, Kimberly Carpenter Draughn, Hiddenite, Dawn Carpenter Richardson, Denver, Colo.

He was a native of Belmont, son of the late Fred Alexander and Elvira Gardner Drennan. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, worked with Kincaid Cotton Co., LABrousse and Couch Co., before retiring from The Washington Group Inc.
