She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Lloyd M. and Martha Huffstetler Flowers, retired from Coca-Cola, member of First Baptist Church, Mount Holly, where she was a deacon, taught Sunday School and served in volunteer community activities.

Allen, retired truck driver for Sodyeco, Mount Holly, and Kenan Transport, Charlotte, U.S. Army and Air Force veteran, served in the Korean conflict, member of Firestone Wesleyan Church, Masonic Lodge #369 AF&AM and VFW of Gastonia.
