Johnny Owens
High Point - Johnny Ed Owens, 72, of Triad Manor died July 13, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Guilford County, a son of Charlie H. and Bessie Puckett Owens. He retired from Highland Yarn Mills. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class.
Surviving are two brothers, Lester M. Owens and his wife, Stella, and Robert James Owens, all of High Point.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sechrest Archdale Chapel by the Rev. Pat Ray. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 3201 N. Main St., High Point, N.C. 27265.

Randy Wagoner
High Point - Randy Ray Wagoner, 42, of 208 E. Peachtree Drive died July 13, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.

Richard Walden Jr.
Maxton - Richard 'Bill' Walden Jr., 75, of 1011 E. Rockingham St. died July 11, 2000, at his residence.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Cloverdale Baptist Church, High Point. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at First Assembly of God Church.
Boles Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline Welborn
Thomasville - Mrs. Pauline Moorefield Welborn, 89, of 300 Cloniger Drive died July 13, 2000, at her residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home.

William Cole
Lexington - William Howard Cole, 61, of 1139 Old Hwy. 109, died July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born April 23, 1939, in High Point, a son of Hoyle Clayton and Minnie Brooks Cole. He was a resident of High Point 34 years prior to his moving to Lexington. He was employed at Carson's Furniture Co. in Archdale. On Aug. 28, 1958, he married the former Rachel Hedrick, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are two children, William Steven Cole and Terry Allen Cole, both of Lexington; two brothers, Roy Cole of High Point and Jimmy Cole of Greer, S.C.; a sister, Maxine Baker of Trinity; five grandchildren; and his best friend, Doug Mishoe of High Point.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Brian Workman. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Tammy Eddinger, 1371 Hill Road.

Robert Conley
Thomasville - Robert 'Bob' Karr Conley, 73, of 462 Kennedy Road died July 13, 2000, at Community General Hospital.
Funeral will be 7 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel. Visitation will be 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Jacob Everhart
Lexington - Jacob Bruce Everhart, 73, of 1829 Hill-Everhart Road died July 13, 2000.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at Piedmont Funeral Home.

Ninevah Floyd
Thomasville - Mrs. Ninevah Arnese Floyd, 76, of West Anna Family Care in Lexington, formerly of Eddinger Road, died July 14, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home.

Peggy Gonzalez
High Point - Mrs. Peggy Smith Gonzalez, 40, of 611 Stone Place died July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home.

Robert Griffin
Statesville - Robert Richard Griffin, 75, of 1414 Mocksville Hwy. died July 13, 2000, at his residence.
He was born June 5, 1925, in Iredell County, a son of Avery and Essie Honeycutt Griffin, who both preceded him in death. He retired from Drexel Heritage and was a member of Landmark Church of God, a charter member of WOW Lodge 323, in which he had 52 years of service. He also was a U.S. Navy Seabees veteran, having served during World War II. On June 20, 1948, he married Alice Efird, who survives. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hattie Moore and Rosa Pounds; and two brothers, William and Paul Griffin.
Also surviving are two daughters, June G. Johnson of Sumter, S.C., and Barbara Jean G. Rudisill of Statesville; three grandchildren, Justin David Rudisill and Christine Jean Rudisill, both of Statesville and Maria Alice Howell of Sumter; a sister, Clara Bell Moore of Mooresville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Salem United Methodist Church by the Rev. Franklin D. Black and the Rev. Kenneth Hudson. The body will be placed in the church one-hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors being accorded by the VFW Post 2031, DAV Harold Littlefield Chapter 68 and the American Legion Post 217. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be the WOW Lodge 323.

Hazel Kuhn
Denton - Mrs. Hazel Johnson Wright Kuhn, 84, of Britthaven of Davidson, formerly of Denton, died peacefully in her sleep July 13, 2000, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born March 26, 1916, in Guilford County, a daughter of Carl Rober and Mamie Johnson Wright. She graduated from High Point High School and attended Guilford College, where she majored in music. She worked at Tomlinson's Furniture, until she married former Capt. George W.S. Kuhn Jr. in January 1946. The ensuing 32 years of marriage brought many changes and moves as she followed her husband in his military career. Her first son, George, was born in Seattle on Aug. 3, 1948; her second, Robert, in Atlanta on Aug. 23, 1951. She was always the center of her family. Her husband's duties took her to such places as Washington, D.C., Kansas, Georgia, Virginia, Hawaii, Louisiana, and Ankara, Turkey. Her husband retired as a Colonel and preceded her in death Feb. 20,1978.
She was an accomplished artist (acrylics, watercolor and Chinese brush) and art teacher, an avid member of church and performance choirs and active in volunteer work. She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Thomasville and an associate member of Central United Methodist Church in Denton. Shortly after her husband's retirement in 1971, they relocated to Denton, reconnecting her with her beloved North Carolina roots.
She enjoyed her family and friends, taught art for many years at Davidson County Community College, played viola in a quartet, and traveled with friends and family members in this country and abroad.
Surviving are two sons, Robert C. Kuhn of High Point and George W.S. Kuhn of Vienna, Va.; four grandchildren, David, Elora, George and Aubrey; a brother, Richard 'Dick' Wright of High Point; and a sister, Marcella 'Marcie' Yates of Denton.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joe Collins. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Briggs Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Britthaven Home for their fine support these last few years. We wish to thank NA Nancy Crabtree, whose loving care of our mother was a wonderful support and inspiration to us all.

Jean McAdams
Thomasville - Mrs. Jean Nichols McAdams, 85, of Westwood Nursing Home, formerly of Hillcrest Road, died July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of Charles Gordon and Edith Grey McMillan Nichols. She was a former resident of High Point, prior to moving to Thomasville in 1958. She was a former member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in High Point and a current member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Thomasville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Colonial Country Club. On Dec. 22, 1937, she married James Woodrow McAdams, who preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1996. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Nichols.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wes (Elizabeth) Patterson of Thomasville and Mrs. John 'Randy' (Jane) Greene of Goldsboro; a son, Gordon McAdams and his wife, Dixie, of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Kevin McAdams, Mrs. Laurens (Sheri) Martin, Miss Shannon Greene and Jared Greene; and a great-granddaughter, Miss Jessica McAdams.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Kenneth Kroohs. Entombment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Wes (Elizabeth) Patterson, 7443 Colonial Club Drive.
Memorials may be direct to a charity of the donor's choice.
