William Muse
High Point
William Edward Muse, 64, of 701 S. Elm St. died Nov. 14, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Guilford County, a son of James Edward and Rama Lee Breedlove Muse, who both preceded him in death. He was a resident of High Point the majority of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Royal Development Inc. He was married to the former Barbara Jean Artibee, who preceded him in death in 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Herbert and her husband, Rick, of High Point; a sister, Charlotte Witcher of Trinity; and a brother, E.W. Watson Jr. of High Point.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Bobby L. Loving. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Robert Robbins
Asheboro
Robert Douglas Robbins, 74, died Nov. 15, 2000.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

John Anderson
High Point
John “Buck” Anderson departed this life Nov. 13, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born June 4, 1921, in High Point, a son of Lewis and Mary Sue Wall Anderson, who both preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosa Kilgo, Virginia Knox, Dorothy Cheek and Arvella Anderson; a grandson, John Earl Little; a great-great-grandson, Ja-Mar Hamlin; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lequonia Bevins.
Surviving are his wife, Lillie Mae Anderson of High Point; two daughters, Mary Sue Little and Josephine Anderson of High Point; a son, Gary Washington and his wife of Killeen, Texas; a brother, Robert (Lucille) Lee Anderson of High Point; an uncle, Hoover Walls of Guilford College; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Spirit of Life Ministries. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service and other times at 206 E. Ray Ave.
Hoover’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Viola Artibee
High Point
Mrs. Viola Hicks Artibee, 74, of 1210 Delk Drive died Nov. 16, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Dec. 3, 1925, in New York. She was a resident of High Point the majority of her life. She retired from Design Concepts. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Muse in 1995.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Ann Spaugh and Marlene Kay Bodiford, both of High Point; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. John Allard and the Rev. Ray Hamilton. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.

Rosa Duncan
Tabor City
Ms. Rosa Bell Duncan, 79, died Nov. 15. 2000, in Thomasville.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Inman Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Dunning
Lexington
Willie Jefferson Dunning, 85, of Liberty Wood Nursing Center in Thomasville, died at 2 a.m. Nov. 15, 2000, at the center after declining health of a year.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Joseph Edwards
High Point
Joseph Charles Edwards, infant son of Ronnie and Tiffany Burney Edwards of 413 Mandustry St. died Nov. 14, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born Oct. 11, 2000, in Guilford County.
Surviving are his parents of the residence; a brother Nicholas Boyington of High Point; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wilkes of Thomasville, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Norman of Trinity and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Edwards of High Point.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Thomas E. Shortt. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Julia Laseter
Greensboro
Miss Julia A. Laseter, 71, of Waterwheel Court died Nov. 16, 2000, at Westwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Archdale.
She was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Pittsburg, Pa., a daughter of William P. and Katherine Magill Laseter. She was a resident of Greensboro for the past seven months and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Surviving are a sister, Katherine L. Austin of Greensboro; three nieces, Sally Schultheiss, Gail Yoho and Cindy Austin; and three nephews, David Austin, Andy Austin and Jeff Austin.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Sechrest Chapel by Elder Phil Martin and Elder Glenn Overcash. Visitation will be Sunday after the service.

John Potts III
Lexington
John Warnie Potts III, 48, of Sunset Drive died at 4:38 a.m. Nov. 15, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Salisbury, after declining health of several years.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today in National Cemetery, Salisbury.
Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gloria Dawn Fleenor Wishon, 52, of Legion Club Road died at 6:48 p.m. Nov. 15, 2000, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 11 p.m. Saturday at Testimonial Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home.

Edwin Jones, 52, of Eden Terrace died Nov. 19, 2000, at Duke Medical Center following an illness.
Arrangements are incomplete at Harold C. Davis Funeral Home in High Point.

Z. Lewis-Lyons

Zackery Ray Lewis-Lyons, infant son of Amanda Jean Lewis and Christopher Ray Lyons of 7189 Davis Country Road in Randleman, died Nov. 18, 2000, at his home.
Surviving in addition to his parents are: maternal grandparents, Dan and Lisa Lewis of Randleman; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Karen Lyons of Sophia, and Roger and Vickie Ferguson of Trinity; eight great-grandparents, Gene and Imogene Zook of Randleman, Freida Williamson of Sophia, Mary and Fred Lyons of Trinity, Bobby and Nancy Zimmerman of Trinity, and Elizabeth Lewis of Portland, Ore.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro by the Rev. Bill Baulding. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the Pugh Funeral Home.

Pauline Morgan
High Point
Mrs. Pauline Roach Morgan, 54, of 1211 Asheboro St., died Nov. 19, 2000, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 21, 1945, in Chattanooga, Tenn., daughter of Bill Byous and Geneva Roach Byous. She was preceded in death by her father. On March 26, 1962, she married Donald Albert Morgan, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are her mother; four children, Lisa Magdaraog and her husband, Esibo, of High Point, Angela Parker and her husband, Terry, of Jamestown, Clettus Morgan and his wife, Revonda, of Thomasville, and Paul Morgan of the home; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point by the Rev. Danny McMahan. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Phyllis Parson

Mrs. Phyllis Herndon Parson, 47, of 247 S. Shore Drive, died Nov. 18, 2000, at her residence.
She was born July 25, 1953, in Richlands, Va., a daughter of Eugene and Betty Stiltner Herndon. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Parson of the home; two daughters, Marty Pigford and her husband, Hicks, of Calypso, Chasity Hamoud and her husband, Joseph, of North Plainfield, N.J.; one son, Fredrick Mueller and his wife, Tammy, of Olivia; one step-daughter, Jennifer Parson of Wallburg; two grandchildren, Lori Bethe Pigford and Arthur Pigford of Calypso; her mother, Betty S. Herndon of Richlands, Va.; two brothers, Stan Herndon of Chicago and Ricky Herndon of Rockingham; five sisters, Judy Stilwell and Sherry Brown, both of Richlands, Va., Vicky Able of Pulaski, Va., Cindy Thigpen of Ivanhoe, N.C., and sister Pat of Philadelphia.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dan M. Downing. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in Phyllis Morgan’s memory to Family Service of the Piedmont Inc., c/o Battered Women’s Services, 1401 Long St., High Point, N.C. 27262.

Robert Bradley Shoaf, 64, of Shady Hanes Road, died Nov. 18, 2000, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Friendship United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
