Mrs. Margie Lucille Foster, 71, of 4996 Darr Road died Jan. 4, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Haizlip Funeral Home.

Dorothy Gantt
Thomasville
Mrs. Dorothy James Gantt, 82, of 100 Cloniger Drive died Jan. 4, 2001, at Community General Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1918, in Durham, a daughter of Jasper and Gertrude Penny James. She was a homemaker. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville and a member of the Phelathea Sunday School Class. She was married to Boyce Wingate Gantt, who preceded her in death in 1982.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pansy Deese and her husband, Don, of Thomasville; a son, David Gantt of the residence; a sister, Evelyn Brady of Largo, Fla.; three grandchildren, Scott Deese and his wife, Tracy, of Wilmington, Robert Deese and his wife, Tammie, and Wesley Gantt, all of Thomasville; three great-grandchildren, Cole Deese, Blaine Deese and Maiah Deese; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Godfrey and Mable Gantt, both of Thomasville.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. David H. Best. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 709 Harrington St., Thomasville, N.C. 27360.

Sallie Greer
Thomasville
Mrs. Sallie Griffie Greer, 77, of 3428 Old Greensboro Road died Jan 4, 2001, at Community General Hospital in Thomasville.
She was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Davidson County, a daughter of Charlie and Flora Bean Griffie. She retired from Wellington Hall Co. On June 26, 1943, she was married to Tobis Greer, who preceded her in death in 1990. She also was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Greer; a daughter, Vickie Greer; and a great-grandson, C.J. Gibbons.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Henry (Barbara) Proctor of Thomasville; two brothers, Buddy Griffie of Thomasville and Don Griffie of Lexington; three sisters, Mrs. David (Shirley) Eddinger of Thomasville, Mrs. Jerry (Peggy) Lohr and Mrs. Paul (Lela) Young, both of Lexington; four grandchildren, Mrs. Angela Gibbons, Mrs. Anita Walker, Miss Janet Proctor and John Proctor Jr.; and six great-grandchildren, Amy Windham, Ashlee Windham, Scott Walker, Jessie Gibbons, Zach Proctor and Preston Walker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. James McNees and the Rev. D.W. Long. Burial will be at Holly Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter, 956 Fisher Ferry Road, Thomasville.

Charles Hiatt Sr.
Garner
Charles James “Chuck” Hiatt Sr., 88, of Laurels of Forest Glenn, formerly of 214 Liberty Road, Archdale, died Jan. 4, 2001, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
He was born March 25, 1912, in Guilford County, a son of C.A. and Ada Perryman Hiatt. He retired from Marsh Furniture Co. as personnel manager with 62 years of service. He was a charter member of Archdale-Trinity Lions Club and for many years maintained perfect attendance. He was a member of Archdale United Methodist Church and the Adult Fellowship Class. He was a member of Guil-Rand Fire Department. On Jan. 14, 1933, he was married to the former Jessie Royals, who preceded him in death May 2, 1992.
Surviving are a son, Charles James “Jim” Hiatt Jr. and his wife, Mae Van, of Raleigh; a brother, Reitzel “Ike” Hiatt of Greensboro; two granddaughters, Cherie Hiatt Taylor and Ms. Dawn Hiatt; and two great-grandsons, Charles Jacob “Jake” Taylor and Joseph Lucas “Luke” Taylor.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Archdale United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mary John Dye and the Rev. Harold Shives. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. today at Sechrest Funeral Service, Archdale, and other times at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Mires J. Zett, 221 Fisher Ave., High Point, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Martin, 3375 Tuttle Road, Archdale.

Ernest Hill
Sophia
Ernest McClane Hill, 74, of 4509 Coltrane Cedar Road died Jan. 4, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Randolph County, a son of John R. and Martha Farlow Hill, who both preceded him in death. He was a lifelong Randolph County resident. He retired from Baker Furniture Co. in 1991. He was of the Baptist faith. He was married to the former Verta Lee Vestal, who preceded him in death April 15, 1998. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Melinda Hill; three grandchildren, Gregory Bruce Hill, Heidi Kristen Hill and Jason Michael Hill; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Ward, Mrs. Ruth Peterson and Mrs. Ollie Morris.
Surviving are three sons, Dwight M. Hill and his wife, Cheryl, Gary R. Hill and his wife, Reba, and Charlie M. Hill and his wife, Carol, all of Sophia; two brothers, Walter Hill of High Point and Vestal Hill of Sophia; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Beatrice) Smith of Archdale and Mrs. Jessie Mullis of High Point; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Gary R. Hill. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Ellen Laramore

Mrs. Ellen Townsend Laramore, 72, of 1534 Canstaff Drive died Jan. 5, 2001, at her home.
She was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Perryton, Texas, a daughter of Alfred Henry and Lucy Scott Townsend, who both preceded her in death. She was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Milton Ward Laramore, of the home; two sons, James Milton Laramore of the home and Daniel Edwin Laramore of Plainsville, Mass.; a daughter, Angela Cornell of Kernersville; two sisters, Glenda Smith and Kathryn Craven, both of High Point; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Chuck Peters and the Rev. Bobby Roberson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home.

Myrtle Livengood
High Point
Mrs. Myrtle Badgett Livengood, 91, formerly of 701 S. Elm St. died Jan. 5, 2001, at Evergreens of High Point.
She was born Aug. 16, 1909, in Surry County, a daughter of Jake and Bannie Davis Badgett, who both preceded her in death. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church. She was married to Dolphus A. Livengood, who preceded her in death in 1968. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Gladys Livengood and Dorothy L. Bunn.
Surviving are a son, Hassel P. Livengood and his wife, Eula, of Yorktown, Va.; four daughters, Mrs. Bill (Bonnie) Suggs of High Point, Mrs. Gerald (Faye) Humphrey of Fayetteville, Mrs. Mike (Ronda) Prentzas of Greensboro and Mrs. Carol Chance of Hampton, Va.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, by the Rev. Howard Pittman and the Rev. Gene Phillips. Committal service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Airy. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at 3632 Fairlane St., High Point.

Lois McNair
Archdale
Mrs. Lois Marie Wright McNair, 77, of 258 Linda Drive died Jan. 5, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Stokes County, a daughter of Everett Preston and Lula Texas Shelton Wright. She was employed with W.F. Altenpohl as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. On Feb. 8, 1947, she was married to Floyde Franklin McNair, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two sons, Danny McNair and his wife, Towa, of Trinity and Steve McNair and his wife, Vickie, of Collinsville, Va.; her mother of Archdale; and a sister, Mrs. Georgia Morris of Greensboro; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Faith Baptist Church by the Rev. Stephen L. Welborn. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Sechrest Funeral Service, Archdale.
Memorials may be directed to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 5744 Mendenhall Road, Archdale, N.C. 27263.

Cecil Massey

Mrs. Cecil Mae Hardy West Massey, 88, died Jan. 5, 2001.
Funeral will be 3 p.m Sunday at Asheboro Church of Jesus. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Ridge Funeral Home.

Emaree Parks
Glendale, Wis.
Mrs. Emaree Greenwood Parks, 75, died Jan. 1, 2001, at her home.
She was born July 29, 1925. She was a founding member of The Milwaukee Chapters of The Links Inc. and The Girlfriends Inc. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Town & Country Garden Club. She was married to Dr. W. Carson Parks, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are four loving and remarkable children, William C. (Francine) Parks Jr., Flettene (Cladius) Parks Neal, Carol (Leroy) Parks Little and Noel Parks; a brother, Augustus (Willie Mae) Greenwood Jr.; two nieces, Deborah Greenwood and Angela Greenwood; a sister-in-law, Icie Phene (Alfonso) Porter; six grandchildren; and many loved ones and friends.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Wisconsin Memorial Park-The Chapel of the Chimes. Entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Jesse Phillips

Jesse James Phillips, 73, of Maulden St. died Jan. 4, 2001, at Conway Hospital after an illness.
He was born in High Point, N.C., a son of Henry Hudson and Annie Virgie McDaniel Phillips, who both preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II and also a veteran of the U.S. Marines, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard. He was a member of Langston Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Phillips of Conway; five sons, Gary M. Phillips and Jeffrey C. Phillips, both of Conway, James E. Phillips of Saipan, Robert L. Phillips of Hemingway and Jon Christopher Phillips of Banburry, England; two daughters, Catherine P. Markusen of Sarasota, Fla., and Linda P. Fung of Marietta, Ga.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jack D. Phillips of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Wayne A Phillips of North Myrtle Beach; and a sister, Patsy Rutherford of Biloxi, Miss.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, by the Rev. Randall Jones. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
