Mrs. Aubrey Talmadge Collins, 91, of S.C. 905, died Jan. 26, 2001, at Conway Hospital after an illness.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Kingston Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.

Marie Dow
High Point
Mrs. Marie Mahoney Dow, 81, of Westwood Nursing Home died Jan. 24, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born June 16, 1919, in Manning, S.C., a daughter of Jessie and Sarah Laddie Mahoney, who both preceded her in death. She was a resident of High Point 34 years. She retired from Galilean Nursing Home. She was a faithful member of Philippian Baptist Church, where the pastor is Wallace Powell Sr.
On Oct. 27, 1935, she was married to Andrew Dow, who also preceded her in death. She was a loving, kind, devoted and gentle woman, full of compassion and concern for everyone she came in contact with. Her greatest desire was to please God in every aspect of her life.
Surviving to cherish her memory are six daughters, Maggie Warley, Leola Dingle, Rosa (Roosevelt Sr.) Nelson, Lucretia (Walter) Steele, Wilhelmina (John) Bosier and Margie Williams, all of High Point; three sons, Allen (Ruth) Dow, Melvin Dow and Sammie (Gwen) Dow, all of High Point; 37 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Corine Dow of High Point; a brother, Johnnie (Jean) Mahoney of Lake Alfred, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Inez Dow of Pinewood, S.C.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Shield of Faith Ministries, 1201 E. Green Drive. Visitation will be 1:30-2 p.m. Sunday at the church and other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt Nelson Sr., 900 Enterprise Drive.
Hargett Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Rodney Edwards
High Point
Rodney Allen Edwards, 67, of Lakecrest Avenue died Jan. 25, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Greensboro, a son of Soloman David and Floy Belle Pitts Edwards. He attended Wingate and Guilford College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served for four years. He previously lived in Asheville before returning to Guilford County. He was a member of Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church. He was employed with Oak Hollow Golf Course, High Point.
He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by friends and family. He had a passion for his family and the love of golf. He was first married to Anne Hulin Edwards, who survives of High Point and his second marriage was to Wanda Hinkle Edwards, who survives of Trinity. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Edwards Culler; and two brothers, Worth and Hoyt Edwards.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dana Edwards James of Charlotte and Debi Edwards Wyatt of Asheville; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Edwards Neal and Mrs. Jeneil Edwards Feldes, both of Greensboro; three brothers, Lawrence Edwards of High Point, Ray Edwards of Greensboro and Jimmy Edwards of Jamestown; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church, Greensboro, by the Rev. John W. Kale and the Rev. Scott A. Wagoner. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Service, 1301 E. Lexington Ave., High Point, and other times at 622 W. Lexington Ave.
Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 4161, Greensboro, N.C. 27404-4161 or to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, N.C. 27407.

Carl Everhart
Winston-Salem
Carl Burnis Everhart, 93, formerly of U.S. 52 died at 5:20 a.m. Jan. 26, 2001, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Faith Missionary Alliance Church. Visitation will be 5-6:30 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel.

William Flynt Sr.
Kernersville
William H. Flynt Sr., 75, died Jan. 23, 2001.

Emma Giles
Lexington
Miss Emma Irene Giles, 60, of Giles Road died Jan. 25, 2001.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at Piedmont Funeral Home.

John Hawley
Jamestown
John Boutelle Hawley Of 600 Thornwood Road died Jan. 25, 2001, in Greensboro.
He was born in the Philippine Islands, a son of Col. Harry B. and Emma Boutelle Hawley. He was a resident of this area for 40 years and he lived in Cleveland, Ohio, prior to moving south. He was a former owner of Akron Spool Co. He also was a former member of the Greensboro Country Club. He was of the Episcopalian faith and a very talented person. He married the former Laura Hodges, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Gassaway and her husband, Harry, of McLeansville, and Mrs. Emily Lou Wentz of Sneads Ferry; a son, Jack Hawley of Greensboro; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sechrest Chapel, High Point, by the Rev. Melvin B. Anderson. Inurnment will be at a later date in Fitchburg, Mass.

Marcella Kennedy
Lexington
Marcella Conrad Kennedy, 79, of Leonard Road died at 12:55 p.m. Jan. 26, 2001, at Lexington Health Care.
She was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Davidson County, a daughter of Adam Efrid Conrad and Ada Byerly Conrad. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Kayby Mills in Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Foy Kennedy Sr. in 1993.
Surviving are her son, Foy Kennedy of Lexington; a daughter, Linda Blakley and her husband, the Rev. Ronald Blakley, of Trinity; and five brothers, John Conrad, Paul Conrad, Clyde Conrad, Carl Conrad and Cromer Conrad, all of Lexington.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Roger Weisner. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her son, 627 Leonard Road.
Memorials may be directed to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, c/o Danny Byerly, 227 Huntingdon Road, Lexington, N.C. 27295.

Lloyd Moore
Thomasville
Lloyd Quinton Moore, 40, of 726 Lake Road died Jan. 25, 2001, at Community General Hospital in Thomasville.
He was born April 9, 1960, in High Point, a son of Eugene Moore Jr. and Geraldean Milrainey Moore. He was employed with O’Brian Paint Co. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Crumbley.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen Annerino Moore; his parents of High Point; three children, Courtney and Eric Dowdy, both of Archdale and Lloyd Eugene Moore of Thomasville; a brother, Bob West and his wife, JoAnn, of Thomasville; and a niece, Tracy Crumbley Taylor.
Funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Sechrest Chapel, E. Lexington Avenue, by the Rev. Keith D. Letterman. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Sechrest Funeral Service.

Mozelle Williams
High Point
Mrs. Mozelle Keller Williams, 76, of 609 Dogwood Circle died Jan. 26, 2001.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.

Carrie Ball
Thomasville
Mrs. Carrie Mae Hunt Ball, 82, of 1083 Mt. Zion Church Road died Jan. 31, 2001, at Community General Hospital.
She was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Davidson County, a daughter of Albert C. Hunt and Lucretia Fine Hunt, who both preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the Louise Moore Sunday School Class. On Nov. 4, 1939, she was married to Lacy Harold Ball, who survives of the residence. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Wayne Ball in 1964.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Peter Hamilton. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Mary Chance
Greensboro
Mrs. Mary Ann Mika Chance, 73, died Feb. 1, 2001, at Wesley Long Hospital.
She was a native of Youngstown, Ohio. She was a retired registered nurse and a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Cardinal Country Club. She was an avid golfer and also enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are her daughter, Sally Chance Waterson and her husband, John, of Greensboro; two sons, James Edward Chance and his wife, Missy, of Jamestown and David Sherwood Chance and his wife, Kamali, of Reidsville; a sister, Helen Yozwiak and her husband, Ben, of Youngstown, Ohio; two brothers, John Mika and his wife, Rosemary, of Charlotte and Stan Mika and his wife, Ann, of Salem, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Harriet Lydick and her husband, Keith, of Greensboro; and seven grandchildren, Jami, Mika, Lauren, Michael, Chris, Kristen and Nick.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Mary McNeal. Visitation will be 5-8 tonight at 6301 Muirfield Drive.
