Addie Mae Everhart, 81, of Hege Drive, died Feb. 24, 2001.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church.
The family will receive relatives and friends Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Maye Frank
Lexington
Ida Maye Younts Frank, 93, formerly of Young Road, died Sunday in Centerclair Nursing Home.
Mrs. Frank was born Nov. 26, 1907, to Ervin P. Younts and Molly Hendrick Younts. A former employee of Dixie Furniture, she was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Frank; two brothers, John Younts and Paul Younts; and two sisters, Odessa Myers and Pauline Abbott.
Surviving are two sisters, Zeffie Leonard of Lexington, Vergie Harrington and Irene Smith, both of High Point; one son, James Beck of Henderson; one step-son, Bill Frank of Lexington; one step-daughter, Evelyn Burns of Houston, Tex.; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Burial will be at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Amanda Inscoe
Stony Point
Amanda Dawn Inscoe, 32, died Feb. 24, 2001 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral will be today at 2 p.m. in Stony Point Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Gene Thompson.

Ken Lambeth
Winston-Salem
Kenneth “Ken” Brooks Lambeth, 47, of 1134 Edgebrook Drive, died in the woods near his home. He was born July 24, 1953 in Guilford County to Joel Floyd Lambeth and Beatrice Brooks Lambeth. He was formerly a home-builder and for the past year had been employed with FedEx. He was assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 911 at Burkhead United Methodist Church, and was a past officer with the North Carolina Wild Foods Association. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature.
He is survived by his wife, Marty Summey Lambeth of the home; two sons, Evan Brooks Lambeth and Parker Davis Lambeth, both of the home; two sisters, Jo Lynn Foster of Trinity and Carol Pfaff of Winston-Salem; one brother, David Lambeth of Winston-Salem; three nieces and three nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point by Rev. Douglas C. Rights. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tomorrow at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel and requests that memorials be made to North Carolina Strike Force – 1, Attn: Richard Washabaugh, Treas., c/o Old Hickory Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Iola Leonard
High Point
Mrs. Iola Greene Morton Leonard, 83, resident of 900 Eastchester Drive, died Feb. 23, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Randolph County, a daughter of Remus and Cora Beane Greene. She was employed by the Slane Hosiery Mill prior to her retirement and was a member of the First Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Morton in 1991; six brothers, Ed Greene, Grady Greene, Lon Greene, and Earle Greene all of Seagrove, Talley Greene and Elmore Greene, both of High Point; three sisters, Lola Auman and Mae Davis of Star and Hazel McDowell of Denton. She was also preceded in death by a special niece, Mrs. Bill (Margaret) Beck of Thomasville.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James M. (Faie) Small of Archdale and Mrs. William A. (Barbara) Gailey of High Point; six grandchildren, Greg Small of Sophia, Mrs. Rick (Yolanda) Holt of Thomasville, Mark Small of Archdale, Billy Gailey and Terrie Gailey Marks, both of High Point and Scottie Gailey and wife, Jatonna, of Thomasville; six great-grandchildren, Brittany and Courtney Holt, Ashley and Dusty Gailey, Devon and Dylan Gailey; one brother, Curtis Greene of Archdale; a niece, Mrs. Grover (Ruth) Beck of Thomasville, whom she helped raise; many more nieces and nephews; and all of her extended family at Wesleyan Homes.
Funeral will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Cumby Funeral Family Service, High Point, by Rev. Carol Upton and Rick Webb. Burial will follow in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Monday and other times at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Small, 218 Rand Blvd., Archdale and Mr. and Mrs. William A Gailey, 1404 Darden Street, High Point.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, Carolina Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3298 or to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
The family of Mrs. Leonard would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. George H.S. Sanders and the staff at Emerywood Oncology; the entire staff of 7 North at High Point Regional Hospital; and the many friends and ministers who visited their loved one over the past year and a half. And most of all, Faie, Barbara, and Yolanda would like to say thank you to their husbands, James, Allen, and Rick for letting them spend the last year and a half with “Memaw.”

Bernice Holland McAllister, 80, of Maryfield Nursing Home, High Point, formerly of Randleman, died Feb. 25, 2001. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Hamlyn. Vistitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman.

Odell Reid
Odell Coolidge Reid, 76, died Feb. 24, 2001 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. He was born in Stokes County to the late Henry H. and Lilla A. Priddy Reid. He was formerly of Winston-Salem before moving to Lenoir in 1987. He was a World War II Marine veteran, a NRA lifetime member, a precinct captain of the Republican party, and an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. Mr. Reid was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church while in the area and currently was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church. He retired in 1980 with over 30 years service as a rural letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Clara B. Reid in 1997; and one sister, Lois Martin.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol Rose of Apex; one son, Lester O. Reid of Kings Creek; a special niece, Dora Barber of King; two brothers, Perry H. Reid of Kernersville and Hassell Reid of Newland; two grandsons, Jonathan O. Rose and Christopher S. Rose, both of Apex; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great -nephews; and many special friends and neighbors.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. tomorrow at Gospel Light Baptist Church, Walkertown, by Rev. Robert Setzer and Rev. Frank Shumate at Gospel Light Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. this evening at Burroughs Funeral Home, Walnut Cove. Memorials may be made to Heritage Christian School, 239 Mt. Herman Road, Hudson, NC 28638.

Dwight Varner Sr.
High Point
Dwight Earl Varner Sr., 81, former resident of 1011 South Rd., died Saturday afternoon in the Country Club Rest Home in Randleman. He had been in declining health for the past two years.
He was born March 14, 1919 in Denton, a son of John Earl and Nora Tucker Varner. He had been a resident of High Point most of his life and was retired owner and operator of Varner Sheet Metal. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church. In 1944 he was married to Margaret Tysinger, who survives, of County Club Rest Home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Tommy (Brenda Kay) Preslar of Lexington and Mrs. Kathy Nance of 4155 Kynwood Drive, Trinity; one son, Gene Varner; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Roland (Earlene) Steed of Denton and Mrs. Clayton (Clara Mae) Henderson of Lynchburg, Va.
Mr. Varner was preceded in death by one son, Dwight Earl Varner Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
Burial with full military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 8:30 at the funeral home.

Paul Vestal
Thomasville
Mr. Paul David Vestal, 94, a resident of Liberty Woods Nursing Center and formerly of Bish Court, died February 24 2001 at Community General Hospital.
He was born September 6, 1906 in Surry County, a son of Walter Vestal and Lora Collins Vestal and had been a resident of the High Point and Thomasville area most of his life. He was a farmer and had retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries Plant C. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the church Sunday School and the United Methodist Men. In 1926 he was married to Miss Ader Simmons, who survives, of Liberty Woods Nursing Center.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Bill (Hazel) Briggs of Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Thompson of Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Mark (Peggy) Whisnant of Thomasville, and Mrs. Terry (Judy) Yates of Thomasville; three sons, Ed Vestal and wife Joyce of Hendersonville, Nevada, Lonzo Vestal and wife Louise of Thomasville, and Don Vestal of Archdale; three brothers, Evan Vestal and Richard Vestal of Booneville and Homer Vestal of Jonesville; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clinton (Pinto) Vestal.
Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Ben K. Shepherd and the Rev. Charles Thompson.
Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 7-9 and other times at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Peggy) Whisnant, 22 Culbreth Avenue. Memorials may be directed to Bethel United Methodist Church, 508 Fisher Ferry Street, Thomasville, NC 27360.

Madie Barrino
High Point
Mrs. Madie Medley Barrino, 81, of 1810 Boulding Ave. died Feb. 28, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital, where she was a patient three days and in declining health five years.
She was born July 20, 1919, in Union County, a daughter of Robert and Ellen Chambers Medley. She resided in High Point more than 55 years and was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed as a sexton at Jamestown United Methodist Church prior to failing health. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Barrino, May 24, 1999; a daughter, Joanne Pride; and a son, Curtis Barrino Jr.
Surviving are seven sons, Julius Barrino, Perry (Daisy) Barrino, Hubert “Pete” Barrino, Joseph “Jo Jo” (Diane) Barrino and Randall (Wanda) Barrino, all of High Point, Nathaniel Barrino of Detroit, Mich., and Richard Medley of Durham; three daughters, Sheila (Johnnie) Patterson, Carolyn McBride and Olivia “Labu” Barrino, all of High Point; a stepdaughter, Jacquelyn Dawkins, of High Point; 74 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Dickey and Mrs. Georgia Blakeney, both of High Point; a play sister, Mrs. Catherine Burke; special friends, among them, Mrs. Doris Simmons, Mrs. Eliza Neeley, Mrs. Georgia Henry, William Bigelow and Mr. and Mrs. Green (Frances) McNair; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, among them, Arethea Ford, who was very dear.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Emmanuel Baptist Church by the Rev. Lawrence Curtis. Burial will be in Carolina Biblical Gardens. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church and other times at the residence.
Haizlip Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Floyd Dawkins Sr.
Archdale
Floyd Irvin Dawkins Sr., 70, of 500 Westbrook Court died Feb. 28, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital after a short illness of one and one-half weeks.
He was born Sept. 2, 1930, in High Point, a son of Herman and Youthel Swainey Dawkins, who both preceded him in death. He was a resident of High Point and Archdale most of his life. He was a retired owner of Dawkins Machine Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of Jewel Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher, deacon, trustee, Royal Ambassador Worker and he also served on various committees of the church.
He was a longtime Hillsville Civitan, served as former president and received the “President’s Award” in 1990, the “Service Award” in 2000, “Civitan of the Year” in 1987, and the “Perfect Attendance Award” for 11 years straight. He was the founder of Hillsville Recreational Field. He sponsored and coached the Dawkins Machine Co. Softball Team. On Aug. 19, 1955, he married the former Maxine Kennedy, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are three daughters, Penny Hussey and her husband, Thomas Jr., of 3905 Wood Ave., Archdale, Martha Harb and her husband, Randy, of 3017 Tall Cedar Lane, Trinity, and Kenda Strickland and her husband, Kevin, of 802 Rotary Drive, High Point; two sons, Floyd “Pete” Dawkins Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of 4532 Finch Farm Road, Trinity, and Darren Dawkins and his wife, Ginger, of 1943 Latham Harvell Road, Asheboro; a sister, Barbara Warren and her husband, Don, of New Bern; three brothers, Grayson Dawkins and his wife, Barbara, of Panama City, Fla., Lyndon Dawkins and his wife, Nellie, of High Point, and Roger Dawkins and his wife, Mary, of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Dawkins, Michael Dawkins, Allison Hussey, Mandy Jo Harb, Adam Harb and Haley Dawkins; and one great-grandson, Ryan Clark.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Jeff Dawkins and the Rev. Randal A. Quate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Mrs. Martha Harb.
Active and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hillsville Civitan Club.
