Tony Greeson
Greensboro - Tony Greeson, 20, of 6001 Buckhorn Road died Feb. 7, 2000, at Moses Cone Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Greensboro and was a driver for Custom Distribution Systems. He enjoyed basketball and attended the Philadelphia Baptist Chapel.
Surviving are, Donald and Jean Greeson, with whom he made his residence; two brothers, Mark Hodges of Nashville, Tenn., and Bobby W. Greeson of Greensboro.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Forbis & Dick N. Elm Chapel. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Viola Hill
Thomasville - Mrs. Viola Hill, 90, of 7724 E. Holly Grove Road died Feb. 9, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home.

Inez McNeill
Broadway - Mrs. Inez C. McNeill, 80, died Feb. 10, 2000, at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.
She was born in Harnett County, and was preceded in death by her husband, Landon Clifford McNeill.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeanette M. Carlyle of Linville, Deborah M. Cox of Broadway, and Nancy M. Wilson of Lillington; two sons, Landon C. McNeill Jr. of Greensboro and Donald C. McNeill of Archdale; a sister, Vernelle C. Whittington of Lillington; three brothers, Dulion Coleman of Wilmington, Charles Coleman of Clayton and Wayne Coleman of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Elinos Whitlock. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, Lillington, and other time at the residence.

Clara Poole
Archdale - Mrs. Clara June Trotter Poole, 76, of 5873 Trotter Country Road died Feb. 9, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1923, in Randolph County, a daughter of Roland and Annie Cox Trotter. She was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and was graduate of Trinity High School. She retired from Indian Head Hosiery Mill and was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she taught the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class for many years. On Sept. 14, 1941, she married Coyte Poole, who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are a son, Philip Larry Poole and his wife, Cheryl, of 6098 Suits Road, Archdale; a granddaughter, Kristi Scott and her husband, John; a grandson, Larry Todd Poole and his wife, Cindy; two great-grandchildren, Tori Poole and Jackson Scott; four sisters, Mrs. Sallie Edwards and Mrs. Beulah Barker, both of Archdale, Mrs. Hazel T. Webb of Randleman and Mrs. Frances Baker of Jefferson, Mo.; and a brother, David Trotter of Archdale.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Southside Baptist Church by the Rev. David Miller. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, and other times at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Larry Poole.
Memorials may be directed to Southside Baptist Church, 2515 Bellemeade St., High Point, N.C. 27263.

Ernest Rorie
High Point - Ernest “Boobie” Leroy Rorie, 36, of 1705 Cedrow Drive died Feb. 9, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Feb. 27, 1963, in Wadesboro, a son of Ernest and Annie Streater Rorie. He graduated from T. Wingate Andrews High School and was employed at Green Drive Car Service. He was preceded in death by a son, Donvonte Rorie and his grandparents, James and Josie Rorie and James and Carrie Streater.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Rosheka Lanier; his parents; a brother, James W. (Jaquline) Rorie of High Point; three sisters, Janice M. Rorie, Shelia R. Rorie and Tanya R. Rorie, all of High Point; six uncles, Thomas William Rorie, Marvis (Lillan) Rorie, James (Anita) Streater, Roosevelt (Gene) Rorie, Otis (Emma Lou) Rorie and Forest (Carolyn) Rorie; two great-uncles, Jasper (Leloa) Marshall and James Watson; two aunts, Katherine (James) Smith and Carolyn (Cornelious) Bledsoe; and a host of friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hargett-Gilmore Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Angeline Sumpterk. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and other times at 1705 Cedrow Drive.

Clarence Canham
Randleman - Clarence Edward Canham, 66, of Asheboro, N.C., died Feb. 11, 2000 at Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Durham, N.C.
Funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Monday at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Randleman. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

H. Clyde Goodman
Thomasville - H. Clyde Goodman, 77, of 4538 Lakeview Court, died at 1:45 p.m., Feb. 12, 2000 at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born Jan. 20, 1923 in Iredell County, a son of Charles Raynor Goodman and Hattie Templeton Goodman. He had been a resident of Thomasville most of his life. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, was the founder and owner of Goodman Machine and Tool Company and retired as general manager from Metal Stamping in High Point. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. On July 11, 1953 he married Miss Margaret (Peggy) Payne Freedle, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. David (Jane) N. Goodman-Smith of Clemmons, Mrs. Junie (Lisa) Morris of Thomasville and Mrs. Richard (Beth) Smith of Greensboro; seven grandchildren, Christopher C. Morris, Timothy L. Morris, Rachel M. Smith, Ashley M. Morris, Natalie J. Smith, Amy L. Morris and Jonathan S. Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Sky L. Ray and Billy E. Ray III.
He was preceded in death by six sisters, Mrs. Alice Anderson, Mrs. Dorcus Darr, Mrs. Eleanor Smith, Mrs. Christine Baker, Mrs. Carolyn Greenburg, and Mrs. Alee Crook, and by one brother, Charles R. Goodman.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

John Hill Sr.
Sophia - John Cleveland Hill Sr., 67, of Old Marlboro Road, died Feb. 12, 2000 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale.

Viola Hill
Thomasville - Mrs. Viola Hill, 90, of 318 Thompson St. died Feb. 9, 2000 at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born May 24, 1909 in Davidson County, a daughter of Hosie Hill and Mae Hunt Hill. She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker, a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was married to Paul A. Hill, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by three sons, Clifton Hill, Jerry Ronald Hill and Norman Lee Hill.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Voncile H. Moser of Thomasville, Mrs. Louis (Doris Jean) Neal of High Point and Mrs. Darrell (Phyllis Delana) Freedle of Thomasville; three sons, Donald Raford Hill and his wife, Linda, of Asheboro, J.C. Hill and his wife, Laverne, of Thomasville and Joe Don Hill of the residence; three sisters, Mrs. Avis Hudson of Matthews, N.C., Mrs. Sallie Yates of Thomasville and Mrs. Peggy Lemonds of Portsmouth, Va.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Ben Shepherd. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at various times at the families’ respective residences.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Neal, Donnie Hill, Ronald Hill, Jason Hill and Jon Hill.

Shellie Kindley
Thomasville - Miss Shellie Frances Kindley, 72, of 668 Blackberry Road died Feb. 12, 2000 at Beverly Health Care.
She was born Sept. 22, 1927 in Davidson County, a daughter of Walter Lee and Betty Pearl Miller Kindley. She was a resident of Davidson County all her life and for many years was a child care provider for a number of children in and around her home. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her god-mother, Mrs. Sadie Lee Miller of Thomasville; an aunt, Mrs. Addie Alma Pullum of Thomasville; cousins, Edith Overcash, Arnold Miller and his wife, Irene, Walter Miller and his wife, Betty, John Wayne Miller and his wife, Rosemary, Eugene Miller and his wife, Marie, all of Thomasville, and Mrs. Hazel Hill and her husband, Otis, of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her god-father, John Taft Miller and one brother, Willie Lee Kindley.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Family Funeral Care Chapel by the Rev. Gary Myers. Burial will be in Clarksbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will be at Family Funeral Care, 18 Randolph St., Thomasville. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Franklin Lea Sr.
Suffolk, Va. - Franklin Martin Lea Sr., 66, of the 4000 block of Hartsoe Road, Winston-Salem, N.C., died Feb. 12, 2000 in MCV, Richmond, Va. hospital.
Mr. Lea, a native of Appomattox, Va., was a retired executive with Mutual of Omaha, owner and operator of the Alpha School of Insurance, and managing general agent with F.M. Lea and Associates in Winston-Salem. He was a member of Ardmore United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte L. Lea; a son, Franklin Martin Lea Jr., of High Point; a daughter, Terri Smith and her husband, Ken, of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Shirley Willis of Denver, Colo. and Marie Weber of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two brothers, Stanley D. Lea and Robert L. Lea, both of Danville, Va.; and a mother-in-law, Florence E. Lao of Winston-Salem.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Chapel, Suffolk, Va. by the Rev. Elizabeth Thompson-Stocks, with burial to follow. Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Monday at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett’s Creek Chapel, Suffolk, Va.

Gerald Miller
Lexington - Gerald Howard “Shorty” Miller, 70, or 121 Goodluck Drive, Lexington, died Feb. 11, 2000 at after a sudden illness.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Dennis Palmer
Thomasville - Dennis Allen Palmer, 52, beloved husband and father, of 6411 E. Holly Grove Road, went to a better place Feb. 11, 2000.
He was born Oct. 8, 1947 in Winstead, Conn., a son of Emory Palmer and Marjorie Ringwood Palmer and had been a resident of Thomasville since 1981. He retired from the U.S. Navy following 18 years of service. He was the owner of Palmer’s Heating & Air Conditioning and a member and past governor of Lexington Moose Lodge #317. On July 8, 1977 he married Kaye Brown, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sean (Tammy) Hegarty of San Francisco, Calif.; four sons, Dennis Palmer II and Douglas Hunt Jr., both of Thomasville, Scott Hunt of Kernersville, and Frankie Palmer of the home; his mother, Mrs. Marjorie Palmer of Southbury, Conn.; four sisters, Ms. Claudia Short of Petersburg, Va., Ms. Patty Demartino and Ms. Robin Deming, both of Southbury, Conn., and Miss Dawn Palmer of White Plains, NY; five brothers, Emory “PeeWee” Palmer Jr. of Washington, Conn., Todd Palmer of New Fairfield, Conn., and Timmy Palmer, Jody Palmer and Terry Palmer, all of Southbury, Conn.; and a grandson, Derek Hunt.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Southgate Baptist Church by the Rev. Chuck Garner. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until the hour of service. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, N.C. 27292.
Members of the Lexington Moose Lodge #317 are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers and meet at the church Monday at 12:40 p.m.
Dennis will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

Gary Walker
High Point - Gary M. Walker, 47, of 805 Fifth St., died Feb. 11, 2000 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Haizlip Funeral Home.
