Gladys Vivian Keever Clark, 74, of 528 East Church St., died Oct. 5, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, she worked as a knitter for Maiden Knitt.
Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Clark; four daughters, Linda Sides of Crouse, Kathy Brackett of Cherryville, Judy Powell and Phyllis Garver, both of Lincolnton; one son, R. Clark of Lincolnton; one brother, Darrell Keever of Lincolnton; two sisters, Colleen Keever and Beatrice Black, both of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Amanda Pendleton, Jason Sides, Travis Brackett, and David Garver; and two great-grandchildren.

James Fowler
DALLAS - James Edward Fowler, 64, of 1831 Ratchford Drive, died Oct. 5, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Born in Gaston County, he worked as a garment manufacturer until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Fowler; four sons, Chris Fowler of York, S.C., Scott Fowler of Ranlo, Brad Fowler of Dallas, and Greg Fowler of Clover, S.C.; one daughter, Michelle Keener of Dallas; one brother, Dorman Fowler of Lincolnton; one sister, Faye Mitchem of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 708 St. Michael’s Lane, Gastonia, N.C. 28052.

Kathleen Rash
LOWELL - Kathleen Harmon Rash, 79, of 606 Fair St., died Oct. 5, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 until 7 at McLean Funeral Directors.
Born in Gaston County, she was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Gastonia, and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Paul S. “Bill” Rash Sr.; one son, Paul S. Rash. Jr. of Leesburg, Fla.; two daughters, Brenda Ratchford of Gastonia and Judy Milford of Jasper, Ga.; three grandchildren, Marcus Bolick, Chad Ratchford, and Teresa Hayes; and five great-grandchildren.

Ernest Boulerice
Ernest Eugene Boulerice, 75, of 1887 Windmill Lane, died Oct. 4, 2002. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Pittsfield, Mass., he was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah “Billie” Keener Boulerice; one daughter, Charlsie Carpenter of Lincolnton; and one grandchild, Kaylon Carpenter.
Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1725 Southside Rd., Lincolnton, N.C. 28092.

Samuel Burnett Sr.
CHERRYVILLE - Samuel Quinton Burnett Sr., 79, of 322 Pine Avenue, died Oct. 5, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today in City Memorial Cemetery.
Born in McDowell County, he was employed as a tool and die machinist with ITT in California until retirement.
Survivors include four sons, Sammie Burnett of Asheville, Danny Burnett of Arden, Davy Burnett of Pennsville, N.J., and Samuel Q. Burnett Jr. of Belwood; three daughters, Priscilla Burnett of Pennsville, N.J., Loretta Burnett, and Debra Pardo, both of Cherryville; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Walter Moore
JASPER, Ga. - Walter Alvin Moore, 87, of Grandview Nursing Care Center, formerly of 4216 Macedonia Church Rd., Vale, died Oct. 5, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 until 8 at the church.
Born in Burke County, he was employed with Hickory Furniture, Burlington, and Klopman Mills until retirement. He was a member of his church’s council for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Goodman of Big Canoe, Ga.; three sisters, Virgie Cook, Ann Stewart, and Alma Moore, all of Morganton; two brothers, Paul Moore and Conley Moore, both of Morganton; one grandchild, Todd Earley of Buford, Ga.; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church Library Fund, 4536 Hickory-Lincolnton Highway, Newton, N.C. 28658.

Ruth Ewers
YORK, S.C. - Ruth Elizabeth Pata Ewers, 71, of 1806 Turkey Creek Road, died Oct. 3, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home of Monmouth Junction, N.J. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery, Franklin Park, N.J. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Cauthen Funeral Home Rock Hill Chapel.
Born in Trenton, N.J., she was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include five sons, Luther McCord of New Jersey, David Ewers and Robert Ewers, both of York, S.C., Eddie Ewers of Fort Mills, S.C., and Timothy Ewers of Sharon, S.C.; two daughters, Brenda Rivera of New Jersey and Nancie Waples of Clearwater, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Janois Beam
CHERRYVILLE - Janois “Jo” Norman Beam, 67, of 408B North Elm St., died Oct. 6, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Born in Cleveland County, she was employed as a lab x-ray technician with Maiden Clinic for 20 years until retirement. She was a member of Mary’s Grove United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the church choir. She was also a former Sunday School teacher and the church pianist.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Everett Beam Sr.; one son, Donald E. Beam Jr. of Cherryville; three daughters, Sherry Rogers of Salem, S.C., Sandy Mitchem of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Amy Goodman of Cherryville; her mother, Ora Lee Cook Norman of Shelby; one brother, Jerald Norman of Casar; one sister, Doris Stockton of Conway, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Martha Randall
CHERRYVILLE - Martha “Mot” R. Randall, 68, 1303 Joyce Drive, died Oct. 8, 2002. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Cherryville where she was a member. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a retired accounting clerk with Carolina Freight Carriers Corp.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Randall of Hendersonville and Tracy Randall of Cherryville; a daughter, Terri Valentine of Cherryville; and four grandchildren, Kelly Sellers and Casey Valentine, both of Cherryville, Jordan Randall and Dane Randall, both of Hendersonville.

Lawrence Anderson
IRON STATION - Lawrence Frank Anderson, 78, died Oct. 6, 2002. No services are planned at this time.
Born in Jackson County, Ks., he worked as a roofing and siding contractor. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of the VFW of Lincolnton and American Legion Post 53 of Jamestown, N.Y.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Anderson; a son, Larry Anderson of Bemus Point, N.Y.; a daughter, Laurie Coulter of the home; a sister, Marjorie Meyle of Helton, Ks.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

CATAWBA - Kathy Carmichael Parker, 49, of 1650 Buffalo Shoals Road, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the church.
Born in Catawba County, she was employed by CommScope, Inc.
Survivors include her husband Donald Allen Parker; a son, Brian Allen Parker of the home; and a sister, “Angela” Putnam of Catawba.

Sabrina Getz
Sabrina Nicole Beal Getz, 31, of 710 S. Grier Street, died Oct. 9, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
She attended New Life Christian Fellowship Church, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Getz of Cherryville; four daughters, Candace Getz, Catherine Getz, Crista Getz, and Samantha Getz, all of the home; one son, Alexander Getz of the home; her parents, Scott and Sara Beal Myers of Lincolnton; and her grandparents, Carl and Gale Myers Justus of Shelby.

Mattie Vinson
IRON STATION – Mattie Thomas Vinson, 90, of 3830 Oakwood Circle, died Oct. 8, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church where she was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Born in Jones County, Ga., she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, James “Man” Vinson and Michael Vinson, both of Iron Station; five daughters, Willa “Tina” Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Margaret Littman, Sarah A. Vinson, and Glenda Vinson, all of Iron Station; and Mary McCorkle of Hickory; three sisters, Bertha Clemons of Maiden, Lucy Phelps of Detroit, Mich., and Bertha Barr of Lincolnton; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
