Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Lee Jones; her mother, Prue Hull Van Dyke of Waco; one brother, Jim H. Van Dyke of Lincolnton; and two sisters, Peggy Beaver, and Joy Kay Davis, both of Lincolnton.

Cora Lee Craig Houser, 84, of 1374 West Highway 150, died March 25, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Warlick Funeral Home from 1 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Born in Gaston County, she worked in the textile industry.
Survivors include one son, Gary Houser of Lincolnton; three daughters, Sharon Hoke of Forest Park, Ga., Linda Kay Mauney of Lake Park, Fla., and Gail Huss of Lincolnton; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Viola Horne
CHARLOTTE - Viola Louise Wilson Horne, 73, of 10412 Yellow Rose Lane, died March 23, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Deliverance Hall Church of God, Hickory, where she was a member. Burial will follow in Southside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Born in Burke County, she worked for Charlotte Health Care Center until retirement. She was the Mother of the Church at her church.
Survivors include six sons, William Horne of Waco, Washington D.C.; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

SHELBY - Monnie Jane Moore Leach, 90, of 1010 Frederick Street, died March 21, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
She was born in Cleveland County.

GAFFNEY, S.C. - Levone D. Huskey, 81, of 110 Beltline Road, died March 25, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the cemetery 30 minutes prior to the service.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a member of High Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Raymond Huskey of White Plains Community in Gaffney; one daughter, Margaret Hall of Gaffney; one brother, Glenn Dedmon of Lawndale, N.C.; two sisters, Faye Kennedy of Fallston, N.C., and Bonnie Mae Smith of Lincolnton, N.C.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Born in Lincoln County, he was a finish carpenter.
Survivors include three sons, John Ramseur of Littleton, Colo., Marshall “Bob” Ramseur Jr., and James L. Ramseur, both of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ethel Carpenter Brown, 82, of 2336 Southside Road, died March 26, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Southside Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Kings Mountain, she worked in the textile industry.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Carpenter, and James Carpenter, both of Lincolnton; three daughters, Janette C. Cherry, Patricia C. Daniel, and Barbara J. Hovis, all of Lincolnton; 27 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

IRON STATION - Joy “Kitten” Mutter Miller, 39, of 2005 Hwy. 73, died March 28, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Tampa, Fla., she was a secretary.
Survivors include her husband, Jack W. Miller Jr.; three sons, Shane Miller, Matt Miller, and Trey Miller, all of the home; her mother, Geneva Mutter of Maiden; two brothers, Joseph A. Mutter, and Jerry Lynn Mutter, both of Maiden; and one sister, Jewel Butts of Maiden.

Born in Lincoln County, he was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Carolina Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Laney Carter; three daughters, Cindy C. Setzer and Susan C. Dalrymple, both of Lincolnton, and Fran C. Nelson of Lenoir; a brother, Charles Carterof Lincolnton; three sisters, Nancy Ford and Frances Carter, both of Lincolnton, and Barbara Safley of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
