Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery in Siler City, with the Rev. Paul Edwards and the Rev. Robert Way officiating.

She was a native of Chatham County, a homemaker and a member of Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church.

Surviving are husband, Amos "A.J." Perry of Siler City; sons, Lynn Perry, Robert Perry and Sam Perry, all of Siler City, and Charles Perry of Fort Rucker, Ala.; sisters, Edna Kate Durham of Graham, Bobbie Jean Atkins of Gulf, and Frances Crowson and Ann Womack, both of Sanford; brother, Charles "Bucky" Phillips of Sanford; six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Sapling Ridge Building Fund, 5116 Silk Hope-Gum Springs Road, Siler City, N.C. 27344.

Randall Keith Alexander, 43, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at the home of his parents.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Whynot Memorial Cemetery in Seagrove, with the Rev. Ron Copple officiating.

He was a 1974 graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School, a 1979 graduate of N.C. State University with a B.S. in engineering, a U.S. Army veteran and was employed with Sara Lee Distribution in Winston-Salem as an engineer.

Surviving are parents, William Joseph "Dub" and Clara Sue Alexander of Asheboro; brothers, Ronald Joseph Alexander of Stanfield, William Daryl Alexander of Asheboro.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, N.C. 27204-0009.

Kate S. VonCannon
Kate Steel VonCannon, 82, formerly of 12 Stokes St., Greenville, S.C., died Monday, June 21, 1999, at Westside Nursing Center in Greenville.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westville Funeral Home, Greenville, S.C. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro.

She was a homemaker, the widow of Henry T. VonCannon and was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are son, Steve M. VonCannon of Greenville, S.C.; sister, Ina McDonald of Asheboro; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home in Greenville, S.C., 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, and at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro, 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

FRANKLINVILLE - Sheryl Lynn Phillips, 34, of 6070 Old Liberty Road, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Bear Creek, with the Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.

Surviving are father, Jimmy Phillips of Franklinville; mother, Ella White Phillips of Franklinville; sisters, Terry Overton of Chesapeake, Va., Cathy Langley of Staley, Jody Phillips of High Point.

Winfred K. McMasters
STALEY - Winfred K. "Mac" McMasters, 76, of 5125 Sandy Creek Road, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany United Methodist Church, Liberty, where he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Gregson Manufacturing, was a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran and a member of American Legion Post 81 for 50 years and a member of Voiture #1172 of Randolph County.

Surviving are wife, Josephine Hicks McMasters of the home; daughter, Linda Smith of Pleasant Garden; sons, Cary McMasters of Liberty, Ronald L. McMasters of Greensboro, Jerry W. McMasters of Asheboro; sisters, Pearl Key of Staley, Louise Allred of Ramseur, Marie Key of Greensboro; brother, Ray McMasters of Liberty; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home.

LIBERTY - Alice S. Matthews of Liberty died Friday, June 18, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial will be in Amos Grove Cemetery.

Surviving are son, Steve Bowden of Greensboro; daughters, Patricia Williams of Washington, D.C., Cheryl Dark of Greensboro; sister, Rebecca Moore of Philadelphia, Pa.; three granddaughters.

The family will be at the church 2-3 p.m. Wednesday.

Billy J. Flinchum Sr.
CLIMAX - Billy Joe Flinchum Sr., 66, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, with the Rev. Lavin J. Burcham officiating.

He was a native of Guilford County, the widower of Margaret Flinchum and was a member of Four Seasons Chapel.

Surviving are sons, Billy Joe Flinchum Jr. of Winston-Salem, Bobby Lee Flinchum of Stoneville, Randy R. Flinchum of Climax; sister, Bernice Dowdy of Carthage; brother, Junior Flinchum of Whispering Pines; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Flossie K. Lovette
DENTON - Flossie Kinley Lovette, 78, of 472 James Lovette Road, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Summerville Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Mike Motley and the Rev. Charles Dickens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Arthur Colon Lovette and owner/operator of Flat Swamp Grocery for about 35 years.

Surviving are son, Colon W. Lovette of Denton; sisters, Bertha Dare Kepley of Lexington, Janie Hicks of Thomasville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home.

BURLINGTON - Pauline Virginia Owens Cross, 78, of Alamance Health Care Center, Burlington, formerly of Country Club Drive, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at the Care Center.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Burlington, where she was a member, with Dr. Craig McMahan officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

She was a native of Danville, Va., the widow of James Estes Cross, a former Sunday School Teacher at her church, a member of the Women's Missionary Union, the Alamance County Service League and was a former Girl Scout leader.

Surviving are daughters, Susan C. Foster of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Elizabeth C. Hill of Burlington; sons, James E. Cross Jr. of Oxford, David K. Cross of Asheboro; sisters, Shirley Owens White of Charlotte, Peggy Owens Bradshaw of Graham; eight grandchildren.

The family will be at Rich & Thompson Mortuary, Burlington, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Elizabeth C. Hill, 1412 McCuiston Drive, Burlington.

BEAR CREEK - Thomas Elvin Elkins, 89, of 6983 Pittsboro-Goldston Road, died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, Sarasota, Fla.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Antioch Christian Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Clark Davis and the Rev. Emmerson Woodall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County, the widower of Myrna Oldham Elkins and a retired poultry farmer.

Surviving are daughters, Shelby E. Spence of Garner, Ruby E. Wesley of Avon Park, Fla., Patricia E. Tally of Bear Creek; brother, Raymond Elkins of Bear Creek; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

STAR - Audrey Davis Moore, 73, of 686 Leach Road, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dover Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Don Davis, the Rev. Mike Holyfield and the Rev. Lonnie Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was retired from Clayson Knitting Co.

Surviving are daughters, Janice Phillips of Robbins, Pat Wood of Star; sisters, Faye Moore of Star, Maude Morgan of Pleasant Garden, Barbara Chalk of Garner, Jenny Carter of Troy; brothers, Sid Davis and Gordon Davis, both of Biscoe, Clinton Davis and John T. Davis, both of Star; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

SANFORD - L. Lynn Josey, 32, of 9916 McPherson Road, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tyson Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Walter YoHo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving are father, Lonnie L. Josey of Sanford; mother, Norma Jean Clapp Garcia of Rocky Mount; brothers, Bucky Josey Sr. of Bear Creek, Ben Josey of Sanford; sisters, Sherry Street of Elkin, April Cheek of Sanford; grandmothers, Lucille Josey of Bear Creek, Josie Clapp of Siler City.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

TRINITY - Allen Arthur Frazier, 88, of 5737 Fairview Church Road, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, in GrayBrier Nursing Center.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, Thomasville, with the Rev. Elton Strickland and the Rev. Ardis Payne officiating. Burial will be in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Davidson County, a retired supervisor with Marsh Furniture Industries and a member of Prospect United Methodist Church.

Surviving are wife, Gladys Nance Frazier of the home; daughters, Nancy Johnson of Archdale, Carol Gray Neal of Parker, Colo.; son, Derrell A. Frazier of Trinity; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday , other times at the home.

ARCHDALE - Jayne Barber, 47, of Archdale, died this past weekend at her home.

She was a native of High Point, attended High Point University, was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a singer.

Surviving are son, Rocket Barber of High Point; daughter, Haylee Barber of the home; mother, Nancy Boyles of High Point.

The family will be at 4962 Ridgeview Road, Archdale, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

He was a native of Montgomery County and a retired farmer.

Brady of Biscoe; sisters, Carol Maness of Robbins, Martha Britt of Biscoe, Mary Lou Coleman of Star, Annie Beaver of Daleville, Ala., Betty Ann Myers of Candor; brothers, Larry Brady of Eagle Springs, Johnny Brady of Biscoe, Carl Brady of Troy; five grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Assembly of God. Burial will be in Mt. Calvery Cemetery.

He was a native of Asheboro, a former student at South Asheboro Middle School and a seventh grader at Western Harnett Middle School in Sanford.

Surviving are mother Jacquline Biles of Sanford; father, Stephen Allison Sr. of Asheboro; brothers, Kenneth Allison and Travis Allison, both of Asheboro, Jausha Allison of Sanford; grandparents, Nancy and Glen Wilson, and David Allison Sr., all of Asheboro; great-grandmother, Hattie Biles of Asheboro.

The family will be at C.C. Hodges Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

DENTON - E. Bradley Loflin, 91, of N.C. 8, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Robert L. McKinnon
MT. GILEAD - Robert Lee McKinnon, 74, of 104 Ingram St., died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead, with the Rev. William R. Turnmire and the Rev. Robert Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Leach Cemetery, Star.

He was a native ot Montgomery County and a retired maintenance superintendent for the Town of Mt. Gilead where he had been employed for 30 years.

Surviving are wife, Helen Mills McKinnon of the home; daughter, Darlene Brown of Cherry Grove, S.C.; sister, Vera Lamonds of Asheboro.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

TROY - Brenda Kay Pack, 53, of 1036 N. Main St., Apt. 1-D, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at her home.

She was a native of Montgomery County and retired from the textile industry.

Surviving are mother, Grace Saunders of Star; sons, James Pack Jr. and David Pack, both of Troy; daughters, Gracia Walker and Janet Thompson, both of Troy; six grandchildren.

CARTHAGE - Mamie Mashburn Marley, 88, died Thursday, June 24,1999, at Pinelake Rehabilitation Center in Carthage.

Funeral service will be 3 p .m. Saturday at Carbonton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Melvin Williamson and the Rev. Allen Mashburn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survived are sons, Burnice Mashburn and Roy Mashburn, both of Carthage; sisters, Lucille Meggs of Glendon, Swannie Snyder of Siler City; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
