Claude Edgar York, 80, of 334 Ridgecrest Road, Asheboro, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Central United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Chris Thore officiating.

He was a native of Randleman, a World War II U.S. Naval Air Force veteran, retired from Union Carbide Plant #2 and was a charter member of the Asheboro Jaycees.

Surviving are wife, Aleine Wade York; daughters, Sabra Y. Barfield of Oak Island, Portia Y. Hicks of Randleman; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church following the memorial service.

Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

FRANKLINVILLE - Talbert Taylor Millikan, 60, of 2013 Tippett Road, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at his home.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Brick Yard Cemetery, Cedar Falls, with the Rev. Jeffrey Maness officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County.

Surviving are daughter, Mary Lee Turner of the home; sons, Terry Wayne Millikan of Ramseur, Steve Taylor Hinson; sisters, Linda Hill of Siler City, Nancy Stoker of Thomasville, Myrtle Carter of Franklinville, Elsie Gray of Randleman; brother, Johnnie Millikan of Franklinville; grandsons, Matthew Robertson and Thomas Robertson, both of the home; one other grandson.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, other times the home.

Bobby F. Williamson
SEAGROVE - Bobby Franklin Williamson, 63, of 4727 Busbee Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Needham's Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. James E. Cockram and the Rev. Arnold Comer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Sears Roebuck Co. after 30 years in Greensboro and Asheboro.

Surviving are wife, Jane Dunlap Williamson of the home; daughter, Marsha W. Bass of Seagrove; son, Ricky Dunlap of Seagrove; mother, Mittie Comer Williamson of Seagrove; sisters, Dianna W. Dickson of Ulah, Geneva W. Garner of Robbins; brother, Hal Williamson of Seagrove; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Pauline B. Harris
MT. GILEAD - Pauline Bates Harris, 85, of Manor Rest Home, Monroe, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Union Regional Hospital, Monroe.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hamer Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Alex Willoughby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Victoria, Va. and a retired employee of Gilead Mfg. Corp.

Surviving are son, Tommy Harris of Alachua, Fla.; daughters, Brenda Dixon and Melba Tinch, both of Matthews; sister, Dora Trexler of Charlotte; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, is in charge of the arrangements.

Christy Laurn Richardson, infant daughter of Lynn Hamm and Mark Richardson of 3528 Kemp Mill Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, in Lexington, Ky.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Kidd officiating.

Surviving are brother, Charles Keisele Diehl III of the home; grandparents, Cary Lloyd and Jackie Richardson of Asheboro, Debra Roar of Ramseur, Jeff and Rondi Hamm of Argilite, Ky.; great grandparents, Earl and Rachel Allred of Randleman, Betty and Jimmy Roar of Wurtland, Ky., Betty and Oval Hamm of Flatwood, Ky., great-great-grandmother, Rita Marshall of Nokomis, Fla.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 10-10:45 a.m. Friday.

Pauline K. Wilson
Pauline Kinley Wilson, 85, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Elaine Allred, near Buchanan, Va.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown, with the Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating.

She was the widow of Everett Wilson.

Surviving are daughter Elaine Allred; son, Jerry R. Wilson of Trinity; brothers, Grady J. Kinley of High Point, Ray S. Kinley of Trinity; sisters, Virginia K. Hill of Archdale, Mattie K. Briles of Asheboro; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

W.J. Reid
HIGH POINT - W.J. "Dub" Reid, 70, of 1519 Pecan Drive, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Covenant Lutheran Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Linda A. Faltin officiating. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was a native of Surry County, a former employee of Alma Desk Company and Graphic Dimensions and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

Surviving are wife, Mary Key Reid, of the home; daughter, Gina Hodges of High Point; son, Stanley James Reid of Asheboro; sister, Mary Claudine Ward of Jamestown; brother, Wesley Ray Reid of Thomasville; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Cumby Funeral Home, Archdale, 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Walter Matt Preddy, 92, of 1208 Park Drive, Asheboro, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Central United Methodist Church, Asheboro, where he was a member, with the Rev. Chris Thore officiating. Graveside service will be 11:45 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Carmel UMC, Carthage, with the Rev. Ray Brooks and the Rev. Clarence Garner officiating.

He was a native of Moore County and a retired farmer and textile worker.

Surviving are son, Bobby Preddy of Carthage; sister, Marie Tilley of Asheboro; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home of the son, 969 Firelane Road, Carthage.

Mozelle T. Weaver
Mozelle Tucker Weaver, 85, of 2801 Spero Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Jonathan Shook, the Rev. Wayne Pugh and the Rev. James Ward officiating. Burial will be in Neighbor's Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Wendell Weaver, formerly employed with Ram-Tie of Ramseur and was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Christine Cox, Joan Tate, Debbie Green, all of Asheboro; sons, James Weaver of Asheboro, Bobby Weaver of Little River, S.C., Kenny Weaver of High Point; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Joan Tate, 2357 Spero Road, Asheboro.

CEDAR FALLS - William Curtis Hill Sr., 65, of 3941 Old Cedar Falls Road, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Falls Baptist Church, with the Rev. Russell Chriscoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Surry County and retired from Eveready Battery Company.

Surviving are wife, Polly Bowyer Hill of the home; sons, William C. Hill Jr. and Donald E. Hill, both of Asheboro; daughters, Doris L. Kidd of Ramseur, April D. Callicutt of Cedar Falls, Georgia A. Shaw of Siler City, Kelly G. Hill of the home; brother, Wayne Hill of Florida; sisters, Katie Cole and Evar Robbins, both of Laurinburg; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Harvey R. Yow
SEAGROVE - Harvey Ray Yow, 61, of 5773 Bachelor Creek Road, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with James Haeffele officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired roofing contractor and a member of United Church of God in Asheboro.

Surviving are wife, Jean Asbill Yow of the home; sons, Barry Keith Yow and Bruce Dale Yow, both of Seagrove; daughter, Teresa Y. Cain of Seagrove; brothers, Gregory O. Yow and Lemuel Yow, both of Seagrove, Steve Yow of Asheboro; sisters, Inez Burrow of Seagrove, Joann Burrow of Franklinville, Hilda Burns of Seven Lakes, Debbie Mabry of Pinebluff; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Ruby D. Henry
TROY - Ruby Duncan Henry, 83, of 34185 George Road, Albemarle, formerly of Troy, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Stanly Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Troy, where she was a member, with the Rev. William Lee Church officiating. Burial will be in Uwharrie United Methodist Church Cemetery, Troy.

She was a native of Gatlinburg, Tenn. and was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are son, Glenn Henry of Albemarle; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home.

Lossie B. Marley
SILER CITY - Lossie Williams Baird Marley, 82, of 900 W. Dolphin St., died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Sun Bridge Care Facilities, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Billy Joe Brady officiating. Burial will be in Coats Cemetery, Coats.

She was a native of Harnett County, retired from Hadley Peoples Manufacturing Company and was a member of Community Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, Jesse Baird and J. B. Baird, both of Siler City, Danny Baird of Stedman, Henry Baird of Ash Fork, Ariz.; brothers, Hunter Williams and Gerald Williams, both of Asheboro; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of J. B. Baird, 1315 Pearleman Teague Road, Siler City.

Treva S. Ledwell
Treva Spinks Ledwell, 78, of 4223 Woodfern Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Pamela Blackstock and the Rev. Fred Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker.

Surviving are son, Wilbert Ledwell Jr. of Virginia; daughters, Linda Hill and Carolyn Harris, both of Asheboro, Jackie H. Martin of Greensboro; brothers, Walter Griff Spinks of Ramseur, James E. Spinks of Durham.

The family will be at the church 1:30-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Jewel Lawrence Greene of 1548 N. Tremont Drive, Asheboro, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Balfour Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. John C. Noble officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Seagrove and retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation.

Surviving are husband, Barney C. Greene of Asheboro; daughter, Lydia Geisheimer of Charlotte.

Thelma D. Hancock
SEAGROVE - Thelma Denton Hancock, 66, of 1271 Dover Church Road, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, with the Rev. David Beck and the Rev. Johnnie Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Louisburg.

She was a native of Wake County and an assistant manager of Normann Rest Home, Star.

Surviving are sister, Eula Brantley of Spring Home; brother, Robert Denton of Boone.

She was the widow of Gene Rosemond Sides, retired from D.H. Griffin Wrecking Co. as a secretary-bookkeeper, was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a former member of Guilford Baptist Church.

Surviving are son, David C. Sides of Pine Hall; daughter, Patricia G. Sides of Seagrove; brothers, Charles McKoin of Atlanta, Ga., Robert McKoin of Greensboro; one granddaughter.

She was a native of Chatham County, a retired homemaker and a member of Moons Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Adult Sunday School Class.

Surviving are daughter, Gwendolyn Presnell Ferguson of Asheboro; sister, Vera Ellington of Siler City; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.
