CARTHAGE - Chris Seawell, 22, of 3244 Dowd Road, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, as a result of an auto accident.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ed Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are parents, Richard and Susan Cohen Seawell; brother, Jon Seawell of the home; grandmothers, Mary Cohen and Irene Seawell, both of Carthage.

The family will be at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Patricia P. Murray
BENNETT - Patricia Phillips Murray, 58, of 95 N.C. 22/42, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Curtis Barbery and the Rev. Eddie Bumpers officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery,

She was a bus driver for special education students for the Chatham County Schools.

Surviving are husband, Richard O. Murray of the home; daughter, Aedrin Murray of Bennett; sons, Shawn Murray and Jonathan Murray, both of Bennett.

The family will be at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Florine T. McCorquodale
Florine Tippett McCorquodale, 80, of 508 E. Main St., Franklinville, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Kenneth McNeill officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Franklinville Cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of Odell McCorquodale, retired from Burlington Industries in Ramseur and was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinville.

Surviving are daughter, Janice M. Walton of Franklinville; sisters, Nell Spoon and Helen Holmes, both of Franklinville, Mildred Tatum of Asheboro; one grandson; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home following the memorial service Wednesday night.

Harold L. Richardson Sr.
Harold Livingston "Theo" Richardson Sr., 60, of 4589 River Estates Drive, Asheboro, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Low Country General Hospital, Ridgeland, S.C.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Howard Moffitt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Washington, D.C., employed as a foreman with Utilities Construction Company of Charleston, S.C., was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Seagrove.

Surviving are wife, Linda Kearns Richardson of the home; daughters, Tammy Swaney, Donna Lepore and Stephanie Fisher, all of Asheboro, Lura Richardson of the home; sons, Kevin Richardson, Terry Richardson, Dean Cox and Harold Richardson Jr., all of Asheboro; sisters, Lana Marie Smith of Siler City, Shirley Ford and Linda R. Staley, both of Seagrove; brother, Neil R. Nance of Salisbury; nine grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

Eston Staley
SEAGROVE - William Eston Staley, 67, of 5861 Union Grove Church Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Terry Beaver officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County and the retired owner of Staley's Automotive.

Surviving are wife, Linda Staley of the home; daughter, Sue Franklin of Alma, W. Va.; son, Dwayne Staley of Seagrove; mother, Thelma Staley of Seagrove; sisters, Magdalene Kearns and Freida Maness, both of Seagrove, Marie Setlift of Ramseur, Tula Cranford of Gibsonville, Relia Godwin of High Point, Jean Cummins of Olivia, Jane Allred of Asheboro; brothers, Ralph Staley of Seagrove, Newby Staley of Asheboro; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

Rev. J.C. Reynolds Sr.
TROY - Rev. J.C. "Colon" Reynolds Sr., 90, of 5236 Greenway Drive North, Jacksonville, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lovejoy United Methodist Church, Troy, with the Rev. Ron Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County, was active in the Methodist Ministry and did evangelistic work for 50 years, founded and served as pastor at Reynolds Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church for approximately 12 years.

Surviving are wife, Mildred Wood Reynolds of the home; sons, James C. Reynolds Jr. of Wilmington, Bob Reynolds of Charlotte, Jerry A. Reynolds of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Harold Reynolds of Troy; sisters, Jeanette Russell and Inez Hamilton, both of Troy; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Brenda M. Jernigan
DENTON - Brenda Gayle Milliken Jernigan, 54, of 408 Farmbrook Drive, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, with the Rev. Arnold Comer officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

She was a native of Columbus County, employed at Councill Craftsmen and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are husband, Roosevelt "Pete" Jernigan of the home; son, Billy Jernigan of Denton; brother, Roger Milliken of Darlington, S.C.; sisters, Claudia Nealy of Tabor City, Paula Boswell and Barbara Nelson, both of Whiteville, Diane Barfield of Darlington, S.C., Wanda J. Minter of Chadborn.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Exie Henline
LENOIR CITY, Tenn. - Exie Henline, 87, of Lenoir City, Tenn., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Farragut Health Care Center.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City, Tenn., with the Rev. Tony Collins officiating. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lenoir City Cemetery.

She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and the widow of Willie A. Henline.

Surviving are son, Esco Austin Henline of Asheboro; brother, Clarence Cusick of Lenoir City, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-7:45 p.m. Thursday.

William P. Jordan
William Peter Jordan, infant son of Watson and Meghan Kirk Jordan of 22 School Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Charleston, S.C.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Eugene's Catholic Church, Asheville, with the Rev. Francis Cancro officiating.

Surviving in addition to the parents are brother, Paul Jordan of the home; sister, Caroline Jordan of the home; grandparents, Henry and Dyeann Jordan of Winston-Salem, formerly of Ramseur, Eleanor Kirk of Bethel, Conn.

Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

Evelyn D. Ivey
RANDLEMAN - Evelyn Davis Ivey, 77, of 411 McCollum St., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Randleman, with the Rev. Darrell Sauls, the Rev. Stanley P. Roark and the Rev. Jeff Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Robeson County, retired from B.B. Walker Shoe Co., was a member of Beulah Baptist Church of Lumberton and worked as an office assistance for Ivey Trucking and Paving Co. of Randleman.

Surviving are daughters, Gloria Cox and Peggy Hunt, both of Randleman; sons, David "Buddy" Ivey and Robert "Richard" Ivey, both of Randleman; sister, Pauline Nance of Lumberton; brothers, Alton Davis, Earl Davis and James Davis, all of Lumberton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Buddy Ivey, 678 Railroad Ave., Randleman.

LIBERTY - Harry Lee Nixon, 62, of 7265 Old Liberty Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty.

Arlie F. Williams
LIBERTY - Arlie F. Williams, 74, of 4195 N.C. 49 North, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Wayne Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a former deacon at his church, a member of Randolph County Cattlemen's Association, a former member of Staley Volunteer Fire Department and a retired builder and poultry farmer.

Surviving are wife, Gladys K. Williams of the home; sons, Ronald Williams and Steve Williams, both of Liberty; mother, Cora C. Williams of Liberty; sisters, Faye Saunders of Pleasant Garden, DeLette Routh of Asheboro; brother, Hoyt Williams of Staley; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 6:30-8.30 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

Arvil H. Lambert
GREENSBORO - Arvil Howard Lambert, 89, of 400 S. Chapman St., and formerly of Bennett, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bennett Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Tim Strider and Dr. Lawrence Clapp officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County, the widower of Kate Baxter Lambert, a retired supervisor at J.P. Stevens and he attended South Elm Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Kathryn Rodgers of Eden, Rebecca Welch of Greensboro; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Clyde W. Steed
Clyde Wilson Steed, 75, of 152 W. Ward St., Asheboro, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church, Asheboro, with the Rev. William Christopher Thore and the Rev. Ken Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Asheboro, a World War II U.S. Merchant Marine veteran, former owner and operator of Steed Texaco and was employed with McRae Roofing Inc.

Surviving are wife, Dorlos Trogdon Steed of Asheboro; daughters, Susan S. Muse of Troy, Alice S. Underwood of Asheboro; brother, Dick Steed of Asheboro; sister, Pauline S. Thomas of Climax; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

Clyde A. Pierce
LIBERTY - Clyde Aaron Pierce, 78, of 5744 Julian Airport Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, with the Rev. Larry Ness and the Rev. Fred Hardin officiating. Burial will be in Gilmore Memorial Park, Julian.

He was a native of Lee County, a retired employee of Stout Chair Co. and a retired farmer.

Surviving are wife, Edith Clapp Pierce of the home; daughter, Linda P. Jackson of Siler City; sons, Gene Pierce, Gary Pierce, Kerry Pierce and Bobby Pierce, all of Julian, Richard Pierce of the home, Phil Pierce of Pleasant Garden; sisters, Leona Jones of Julian, Dorothy Stanley of Liberty; brother, Walter Pierce of Danville Va.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Harry L. Nixon
LIBERTY - Harry Lee Nixon, 62, of 7265 Old Liberty Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, with the Rev. Jack Kivett officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Grays Chapel High School, where he was a valedictorian, a U.S. Army veteran and was formerly employed in the textile industry.

Surviving are mother, Alta Marie Nixon of Siler City; sisters, Lillie Mae Seegers of lnverness, Fla., Margaret Lednum of Franklinville, Louise Glasgow of Staley; brothers, Bobby Gene Nixon of Liberty, Wesley Nixon of Randleman.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Louise Glasgow, 254 Staley St., Staley.

Bertha L. Willard
WINSTON-SALEM - Bertha Ledford Willard, 84, of Winston-Salem, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be noon Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel, Winston-Salem, with the Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

She was a native of Forsyth County, the widow of M.F. Willard Sr. and a member of Waughtown Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, M.F Willard Jr. and Bobby Willard; sister, Bonnie Jean Harvey of Sanderson, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

SILER CITY - Jerri Parris Milholen, 69, of 405 W. Elk St., died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Siler City, where she was a member, with the Rev. Travis Owen officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County and a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, Harold J. Milholen of Siler City; sons, Barry Dean Milholen and Harold J. Milholen Jr., both of Siler City; daughter, Tamara M. McFalls of Charlotte; sisters, Joyce P. Lamb of Franklinville, Ola Mae Trodgen and Judy Hall, both of Asheboro; brothers, Grady Parris Jr. of Asheboro, James Parris of Milboro; eight grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 7-9 p.m. Friday.

BENNETT - Floyd B. Goins, 72, of 1390 Glovers Church Road, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Glovers United Church of Christ, where he was a member, with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are wife, Beatrice Goins; daughters, Faye G. Hoskins of Asheboro, Rachel G. Cheek of Bennett, Mary Ethel "Jo" Goins of the home; son, Floyd "Pee Wee" Goins Jr. of Randleman; brothers, General Walden of Asheboro, Alexander Locklear of Norfolk, Va., Colon Locklear Jr. of Baltimore, Md.; sisters, Jane McCall of Bennettsville, S.C., Lucille York of Gibson; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Farrar Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Theresa M. Bossong
Theresa Marie Bossong, 92, of Asheboro died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.

Private family services will be held with Dr. Boyd Stokes officiating.

She was a native of Brooklyn, New York, retired after 33 years as a registered nurse with New York Life and a former volunteer with the Salvation Army Foster Children's Service.

Surviving is a brother, Charles G. Bossong of Asheboro.

Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of arrangements.

C. Windol Baxter
ROBBINS - Carlie Windol Baxter, 83, of 436 Emma Lane, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Vencor Hospital in Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Robbins, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ernest Ferrell officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Bennett Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Elise Lodge #555 AF&AM, a member of the Men's Sunday School Class at his church, retired as a supervisor from Robbins Mills and a retired rural mail carrier.

Surviving are wife, Jewell Wilson Baxter; daughter, Jan B. Bryson of Robbins; son, Donnie Baxter of Asheboro; sisters, Pauline Baxter of Greensboro and Mattie Navy and Anne Manley, both of Asheboro; brothers, Winfred Baxter of Robbins, Billy Baxter of Ramseur and Henry Baxter of Bennett; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home.
