RAMSEUR - Paul Enoch Davis, 69, of 5024 Souther Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at his home.

Graveside service was 3 p.m. Wednesday at Whites Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Maxton Craven officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County and a retired employee of Eveready in Asheboro.

Surviving are wife, Rador Ingold Davis of the home; daughter, Doncella Luck of High Point; sons, Ronnie N. Davis and Lewis Davis, both of Asheboro, Cronnie Davis and Kyle Davis, both of Ramseur, Elvin Davis of the home; sisters, Betty Lewallen of Asheboro, Peggy York of Liberty; brothers, Nelson Davis, Henry Davis, and Kent Davis, all of Franklinville, Joe Ray Davis of Burlington, Kaye Davis of Swepsonville; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church immediately following the service.

Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, is in charge of the arrangements.

SILER CITY - Linda Hughes Campbell, 54, of 966 Vernie Phillips Road, Bear Creek, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Meronies United Methodist Church, Bear Creek, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Wade and the Rev. Warren Owen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County and employed with Nypro in Burlington.

Surviving are son, Dwayne Campbell of Bear Creek; daughter, Lisa Campbell of the home; mother, Hazel Bylerly Smith of Haw River; brothers, Johnnie Hughes of Hertford, Danny Hughes of Graham; sister, Sherry Vogtsberger of Hampton, Va.; one grandson.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Dwayne Campbell, 1447 Vernie Phillips Road, Bear Creek.

Sally M. Harris
SILER CITY - Sally Coleen McLeod Harris, 71, of 903 North Glenn Ave., died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rocky River Baptist Church, with the Rev. Greg Burris officiating. Burial will be Oakwood Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, retired from B.C. Moore & Sons and also Collins & Aikman, and attended Rocky River Baptist Church.

Surviving are husband, Nubie Harris Jr. of Siler City; daughter, Patti H. White of Bear Creek; sons, Jimmy Wayne Harris of Siler City, Jerry Harris of Silk Hope, Mike Harris of Burlington; sister, Doris Tillman and Barbara Phillips, both of Bear Creek, Thelma Taylor and Peggy Chriscoe, both of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

SILER CITY - Eula Mae Fields Hart, 83, of 605 Piney Grove Church Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at Sun Bridge Care Facilities, Siler City.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rives Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Scott Faw and the Rev. Larry Sobiotne officiating.

She was a native of Chatham County, a homemaker and a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, W.M. "Jimmie" Hart and Charlie Hart, both of Siler City, Jake Hart of Staley, Rudy Hart of Silk Hope; daughter, Brenda Lightfoot of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

DENTON - Pauline Bailey Owen, 89, of 1089 Owen Road, Lexington, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at Mountain Vista Health Park, Denton.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Lick Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Claudie Harrison and the Rev. Eddie Hill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Harris Edward Owen and a homemaker.

Surviving are sons, Mozell William Owen of Denton, David Edward Owen and Terry Lenn Owen, both of Lexington; daughters, Pearl Ellen Morrow of Murphy, Paulette Josie Potts and Juanita Bean, both of Denton; sister, Lillie Shipton of Denton; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Jack R. Beaman
TROY - Jack Ray Beaman, 69, of 570 Corbett Road, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Methodist Church, Troy. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a retired truck mechanic and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Surviving is sister, Ella Jean B. Crosby of Detroit Mich.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home of Eugene Ussery, 131 Rosewood Lane, Troy.

Jackie D. Parrish
KERNERSVILLE - Jackie Davis Parrish, 66, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Pierce Funeral Home, Kernersville.

He was a native of Guilford County, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict, a retired machinist, a member of V.F.W. Oscar L. Joyner Jr. Post of Kernersville and the Kernersville Moose Lodge.

Surviving are wife, Georgia F. Parrish of the home; daughters, Connie Parrish of Franklinville, Terry Duffy of Asheboro, Lesia Luckado of Randleman; sister, Betty Loggins of Lexington; brothers, William Parrish of Port Charlotte, Fla., Kenneth Parrish of Lake Helen, Fla., Don Parrish of Gibsonville; five grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home following the service.

Rev. Charlie W. Miller
The Rev. Charlie W. Miller, 62, of 2889 Pine Court, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at West Asheboro Baptist Church, with Paul Trollinger officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was a native of Pamlico County, a graduate of Wake Forest University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, the executive director of the Asheboro Housing Authority for 30 years and the minister of West Asheboro Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Doris G. Miller of Asheboro; daughter, Elizabeth M. Boswell of Asheboro; sons, Jonathan Marion Miller and Charlie William Miller Jr., both of Asheboro; brother, Monnie Miller of Staley; sister, Marie M. Josey of Greensboro; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Mary E. Simmons
Mary Etta Simmons, 89, of 1951 U.S. 64 East, Asheboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Thomas Smith and the Rev. Thurman Williams officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Surry County and retired from Rampon.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Frances Simmons, 1718 Rilla St., Asheboro.

Jane McDowell
ARCHDALE - Jane McDowell, 57, of 5157 Glenview Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Robert Wiseman and the Rev. David Minor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County.

Surviving are husband, Trellis "Ted" McDowell of the home; mother, Edith Frazier Dowd of Asheboro; daughter, Lora Cromer; son, Bentley McDowell of Archdale; sister, Carolyn Greene of Asheboro; brother, Jerry Dowd of Asheboro; one granddaughter.

The family will be at Cumby Funeral Home, Archdale, 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Lora and Tony Cromer, 3159 Hoover Hill Road, Trinity.

Ethel M. Burge
HIGH POINT - Ethel Marshall Burge, 89, formerly of Archdale, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Wesleyan Arms.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cumby Funeral Home, High Point, with her grandson, Charles Gideon Mackintosh officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

She was a native of Forsyth County, the widow of Roy Oliver Burge, a partner for 40 years in Burge Florist of Asheboro before retiring and a member of Archdale United Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher and choir member.

Surviving are sisters, Alma Morgan and Gladys Carroll, both of Walnut Cove, Lorraine Bowman of Germanton, Margaret Culpepper of Gibsonville; one grandson; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 10 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday.

Walter T. White
SILER CITY - Walter "Pete" Thomas White, 71, of 439 C Alston Bridge Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Gee's Grove A.M.E. Zion Church.

Surviving are wife, Annie Martin White of the home; daughters, Janice Gray of Pittsboro, Diane Taylor of Moncure, Teresa Lynch of Bear Creek, Pamela Chambers, LaVonda Farrar, Regina Palmer, Karen Miller, Teri White, all of Siler City; sons, Danny White of Graham, Steve White and Michael White, both of Siler City; sisters, Avis Martin of Snow Camp, Bonnie Farrar of Staley; brothers, Dee Lacy White of Nanuet, N.Y., Floyd White, Troy White and Sammie White, all of Siler City; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

MONROE, Mich. - Vince P. McCoy, 65, of Monroe, Mich., formerly of Randolph County, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at his home.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Earle Little Funeral Home, Monroe, Mich., with the Rev. E.W. Jukurki officiating.

He was a native of Giles County, Va., a retired independent truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Surviving are Ramona McDaniel of the home; sons, Vince P. McCoy Jr., Teddy McCoy, Patrick McCoy and Greg McCoy; daughters, Tina Lackey, Rita McCoy, Mary McCoy and Sandy McCoy; brothers, Joseph McCoy, Roscoe McCoy, Douglas McCoy, Elmer McCoy; sisters, Hazel Cleveland and Carol McAdams; several grandchildren.

Audrey P. Bain
Audrey Parkerson Bain, 40, of 303 Ridge Ave., Asheboro, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Carolina Beach Inlet.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Dr. Del Parkerson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greensboro and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service.

Surviving are parents, Ed and Virginia Parkerson of Greensboro; sister, Leigh Ann Payne of Greensboro.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Richard H. Bain Jr.
Richard Harris Bain Jr., 38, of 303 Ridge Ave., Asheboro, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Carolina Beach Inlet.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Dr. Del Parkerson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Asheboro and was employed by the Armond Corporation.

Surviving are parents, Richard and Shirley Bain of Oak Island; sister, Cynthia Melton of Level Cross.

Fleta Hancock Smith, 73, of 646 Hawthorne Drive, Asheboro, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.

She was a native of Randolph County and a member of Asheboro Friends Meeting.

Surviving are husband, Rev. J.O. Smith; son, Jimmy L. Smith of Asheboro; daughters, Donna S. Johnson of Siler City, Linda Teachey of Waxhaw; sister, Virginia H. Smith of Asheboro; four grandchildren.

TRINITY - Carl Brown Harris, 73, of 6551 Charlie Harris Road, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Claudie Harrison and the Rev. Claude Byerly officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant A, and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are wife, Dorothy Trotter Harris of the home; daughters, Margie L. Harris of Trinity, Diane H. Poplin of Lexington; sister, Marinda Barnes of Denton, and Vaden Harris, Mattie Coltrane and Lillian Robbins, all of Asheboro; brother, James Harris of Trinity; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren.

Woodrow W. Adkins
CLIMAX - Woodrow Wilson Adkins, 86, of 6138 Red Maple Trail, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, with the Rev. Thurman Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Galax, Va., the widower of Bess Inez Adkins and a retired sawmill worker.

Surviving are daughters, Leatha A. Goodson of Siler City, Carol A. Maness of Charleston, S.C.; sons, Junior Woodrow Atkins of Franklinville, Richard Wilson Adkins and Harry Lee Adkins, both of Ramseur, Robert Steve Atkins of Erect, Harold Dean Adkins of the home; sister, Mary Hash of Siler City; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home of Lee and Wanda Adkins, 1353 Salisbury St., Ramseur.

CHARLOTTE - Mary Ruth Keeling Smith, 76, of Charlotte, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Unity Baptist Church of Belmont, with the Rev. Joe Lawing officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of James Leonard Smith Jr., attended Unity Baptist Church of Belmont and was a past member of the Jolly Sixties of Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte.

Surviving are sons, James L. Smith III of Indian Trail, Rodney L. Smith of Denver; daughter, Sharon Munn of Charlotte; brother, Carlie Keeling of Winston-Salem; sister, Ruby Robbins of Lexington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at McEwen Funeral Home, Charlotte, 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bear Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Chatham County, the widow of W. Vander Oldham and a homemaker.

Surviving are sisters, Nannie G. Fields and Gerta Gaines, both of Goldston.

Richard A. Boger
NEW BERN - Richard A. Boger, 82, of New Bern, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at his home.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Eureka Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Carthage, with the Rev. Charlie Meek officiating.

He was a native of Catawba County, a pharmacist and owner of Boger-Ball Pharmacy and Andersons Drug Store, both in New Bern, was a graduate of Mars Hill College and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving are son, Richard Boger of New Bern and Carthage; one grandson; one great-granddaughter.

The family will be at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage 7-8 p.m. Sunday.
