SILER CITY - Cola Claude Lineberry, 85, of 839 Gees Grove Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Gees Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Allen Moore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County and a retired construction worker.

Surviving are brothers, J.C. Lineberry of Siler City, Van Lineberry of Baltimore, Md.; sisters, Lessie McClain of Winston-Salem, Ruth Headen of Goldston.

Farrar Funeral Home, Siler City, is in charge of the arrangements.

SEAGROVE - Avery Jason Spinks, 38, of 7352 Riverside Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Seagrove. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are mother, Jean Odessa Spinks of the home; sisters, Patricia A. Isley of Seagrove, Donna L. Spinks of Ramseur; grandmother, Mary Brady of Asheboro.

The family will be at the church 7-8 p.m. Saturday, other times at the home.

SEAGROVE - Linda Lou Richardson Staley, 58, of 5861 Union Grove Church Road, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Church of God, where she was a member, with the Rev. Terry Beaver officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Eston Staley, retired from Lucks Inc. and a Hospice volunteer.

Surviving are daughter, Sue Franklin of Alma, W.Va.; son, Dwayne Staley of Seagrove; sisters, Carolyn Tucker and Billie Brower, both of Seagrove, Phyllis Williams of Eagle Springs; brothers, Phillip Richardson and Joey Richardson, both of Seagrove, Gary Richardson of Climax; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, other times at the home.

Maggie H. Frye
ROBBINS - Maggie Hussey Frye, 83, of 143 Frye Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smyrna United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Joseph Forbes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, an Avon salesperson, a former employee of Robbins Mill and a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, Eugene K. Frye; daughter, Shelby J. Hussey of Bennett; sons, Jerry L. Frye of Bennett, Kenny L. Frye of Robbins; sisters, Gladys H. Ritter and Rebecca H. Hare, both of Robbins, Callie H. King of Seagrove, Betty H. Hunt of Asheboro; brother, Fred Hussey of Asheboro; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home.

ROBBINS - Leon Ritter, 55, of Robbins, died Thursday, Jan. l3, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, with the Rev. Bennie Maness officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County.

Surviving are mother, Mattie Ritter of Robbins; sister, Betty R. Garner of Robbins.

BISCOE - Nora Alice Poole, 87, formerly of Biscoe, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Biscoe Cemetery, with the Rev. Junior Davis officiating.

She was a native of Montgomery County and retired from Springs Industries Inc., Aileen Plant.

Surviving are daughter, Lola Latham of Biscoe; sisters, Maidie Haithcock of Cedar Falls, Willie Sheppard of Aberdeen; brother, Walter Poole of Star; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Jennie B. Dunn
MT. GILEAD - Jennie Bailey Dunn, 81, of 440 Nelson Store Road, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Hamer Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alex Willoughby and the Rev. Bill Turnmire officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was the widow of Ted Dunn and a retired employee of Gilead Manufacturing Corp.

Surviving are sons, Frank Dunn of Charlotte, Bobby "Pete" Dunn of Troy; daughter, Nancy D. Tedder of Mt. Gilead; sisters, Fannie Mae Brown of High Point, Elizabeth Lemons of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 5-7 p.m. Saturday.

Nannie S. Byrd
CARTHAGE - Nannie Spears Byrd, 94, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Pinelake Health & Rehabilitation Center, Carthage.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Helms officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Kershaw County, S.C., and the widow of Robert Byrd.

Surviving are son, Don Byrd of Mooresville; brother, Don Spears of Charlotte; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Boyd Parker Jr.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Boyd Artis Parker Jr. formerly of Asheboro died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home, Burlington, with the Rev. Joe Hauser officiating.

He was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran, a Catawba College graduate, and retired from Mid-State Box Co. in Asheboro.

Surviving are wife, Naomi Butler Parker of the home; daughter, Karyn Lynn Parker of Scottsdale; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter.

The family will be at the funeral home throughout the service and following the service.

Sophia Burlingame
Sophia Grace Burlingame, infant daughter of Guy and Candy Burlingame of 26 G. Kingsway Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Women's Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Kenneth C. Gillikin officiating.

Surviving in addition to the parents are sisters, Vanessa Acosta and Emily Acosta, both of the home; brother, Aaron Acosta of the home; grandparents, Judith and George Contreras of San Antonio, Texas, Colleen and Charles Burlingame of Port St. Joe, Fla.

The family will be at the funeral home following the service.

Estelle M. McNeill
Estelle Mabe McNeill, 78, of 5802 Ridge Road, Seagrove, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Union Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ron Copple officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Stokes County, a homemaker and a Sunday School teacher at her church for over 50 years.

Surviving are husband, Stanley R. McNeill; sons, Sidney R. McNeill of Ramseur, David S. McNeill of Archdale; daughters, Delia Kiser of Southern Pines, Diane Margolis of Vero Beach, Fla., Janet Hill of Asheboro; sister, Agnes Greene of Asheboro; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

Pauline A. Powell
Pauline Allen Powell, 93, of Cross Road Retirement Community, Asheboro, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at the center.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. William Leist officiating.

She was a homemaker, a former school teacher and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro.

Surviving are sons, William Lane "Tex" Powell Jr. of Asheboro, Paul Allen Powell of Ft. Valley, Ga.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at the funeral home immediately after the memorial service, other times at the home of Michael Powell, 897 Anns Court, Asheboro.

Kermit R. Frazier
RAMSEUR - Kermit Routh Frazier, 94, of 162 Elizabeth St., died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Scott Owen, the Rev. Bill Rice and the Rev. Artis Payne officiating. Burial will be in Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired carpenter for Ramseur Building Supply, a farmer, a Randolph County Clerk of Court and was also a Postmaster for Ramseur. He was a member of the Ramseur Lions Club and a member of the W.O.W.

Surviving are wife, Jeanette Brower Frazier; son, David R. Frazier of Ramseur.

The family be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ashley N. Wyrick
LIBERTY - Ashley Nicole Wyrick, 10, of 7494 Cardinal View, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, with the Rev. Grover Wilson officiating.

She was a native of Guilford County, a fourth grade student at Liberty School and a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Surviving are mother and stepfather, Sharon Carpenter and Greg Carpenter of the home; father and stepmother, Perry Wyrick and Jackie Wyrick of Greensboro; brother, Andy Wyrick of the home; grandparents, Brenda Warren of Liberty, Kathleen Wyrick of McLeansville; great-grandfather, Earl Ketner of Lexington.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

SILER CITY - Robert "Bobby" Harold Person, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Gee's Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a member of the Male Chorus at his church and a World War II veteran.

Surviving are daughters, Helen Tatum of Greensboro, JoAnn Womble of Goldston; sons, Harold Person of Spring Lake, Donal Person of Giraud, Ohio, Wade Person, Robert Person and Billy Person, all of Siler City; stepdaughters, Debra Person, Terry Person, both of Siler City, Sarah Taylor of Pittsboro, Mary Lois Cheek of Seagrove; stepson, Jimmy Person of Greensboro; brothers, Javann Person and John Person, both of Siler City, Freeman Person of Charlotte, Russell Person of Seagrove, Clyde Person of Ramseur, Jack Person of Ohio; sisters, Eloise Williams of Siler City, Eula May Harris of Ramseur, Nancy Brady of Asheboro; 32 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.

Eva S. Wrenn
GREENSBORO - Eva Stout Wrenn, 88, formerly of 3001 Collier Drive, died Friday, Jan. l4, 2000, at Bradford Village East in Kernersville.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, Greensboro. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

She was a native of Ramseur, a member of Christ Wesleyan Church and was the second female deputy hired for the Guilford County Sheriff's Department.

Surviving are daughter, Mary W. Chandler of Greensboro; sister, Margurite Preston of Largo, Fla.; brother, Rev. Charles Stout Sr. of Ramseur; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Guiding Light Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Burial will be in Dover Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Montgomery County and a former employee of Russell Hosiery Mill, Inc.

Surviving are son, Donivon Davis of Asheboro; sisters, Dianne Hendrix of Greenville, Texas, Treva Allred of Robbins, Wilma Davis and Stella Allen, both of Star; brothers, Jack Hall and R. L. Hall, both of Troy, Richard Hall and Vester Hall, both of Biscoe; two grandchildren.

MABLETON, Ga. - Master Sgt. Douglas Wilson Dunlap, 67, died Thursday. Jan. 13, 2000, in Mableton, Ga.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Jan. 26 in Arlington National Cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County, a U.S. Army veteran, a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, was a member of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge #303 in Wichita, Kan., Sierra Club Department 478 in San Francisco, Calif., American Legion Post 0264 in Mableton, Ga. and a member of B# square dance club.

Surviving are wife, Elizabeth F. Nevil-Dunlap; son, Keith Dunlap of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Barbara Baker of Omaha, Neb., Linda Chandler of Clinton, Ariz., Rebecca Reid of Topeka, Kan., Cindy Smith of Tempe, Ariz.; mother, Esther McIntosh Dunlap of Sanford; brothers, James Dunlap of Sanford, Kenneth Dunlap of Olivia; sisters, Shelby D. Fallin of Pinnacle, Sarah D. Hussey of Robbins, Rachel D. Moore of Seagrove, Dorothy D. Wright of Asheboro; nine grandchildren.

ASBURY, Mo. - Edith Hinshaw Bescher of Asbury, Mo., formerly of Randleman, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, in Asbury, Mo.

Memorial service will be held in Asbury, Mo.

She was the widow of O.B. Bescher.

Surviving are daughter, Betty Lea Seeley of Asbury, Mo.; sisters, Ruth Spence of High Point, Dorothy Small of Randleman; one grandson.

She was a native of Jonesville, La., retired from Torwico Electronics, where she was a machinist, and was a member of the Lamb of God Church.

Surviving are daughter, Sharra Nicole Wiley of Jonesville, La.; mother, Gladys Ferdna of Randleman; sisters, Genevieve F. McDaniel of Randleman, Joy G. Ferdna of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Walter Ferdna III of Greensboro, Gary Ferdna of Randleman; three grandchildren.
