COLERIDGE - John Earlie Powers, 82, of 6111 Lanes Mill Road, Siler City, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Sun Bridge Nursing Home, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Concord United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ron Wachs and the Rev. Joseph Forbes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County, a retired Mechanic for J. H. Macon & Co., and a charter member of the Coleridge Fire Department where he had served on the Board of Directors.

Surviving are wife, Lucy Powers of Asheboro; son, Johnnie Powers of Siler City; daughters, Linda Langley of Staley, Pat McAlister of Coleridge; stepsons, Odell Brady, Kenny Brady, Jesse Brady, all of Ramseur, Vernon Brady, Raeford Brady, Roland Brady, all of Asheboro, Ronnie Brady of Bennett, Jerry Brady of Seagrove; stepdaughters, Dianne Pierce of Seagrove, Linda Wright, Grace Ritter, Kay Durham, all of Asheboro; brothers, Randall Powers of Asheboro, Ralph Powers of Marietta, Ga.; sisters, Colene Brown, Ruth Hussey, both of Robbins, Carene Yow of Franklinville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 25 stepgrandchildren; 20 stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

Dorothy N. Stanley
LIBERTY - Dorothy Noah Stanley, 76, formerly of Liberty, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Sun Bridge Nursing Home, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bible Truth Church, with the Rev. L. N. Stanley and the Rev. Timothy Humes officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Forsyth County, the widow of Rev. Elsie Stanley and retired From Weiman Furniture.

Surviving are sons, William "Bill" Stanley Sr. of Newton, James Ray Stanley of Ramseur; daughters, Clara S. Ward of Newton, Judy S. Rodriguez of Greensboro, Mary S. Workman of Fairmont; half brother, Chester Noah of Liberty; sisters, Thelma Ward of Boone, Magdaline Noah of Boone; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 7-9 p.m. Monday.

GREENSBORO - Mary Patricia "Pat" Edge, 69, of Greensboro, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. John W. Kale officiating.

She was a homemaker, the widow of Walter M. Edge Jr. and a member of Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Judy Hunt of Asheboro, Kimberly Edge of Greensboro; sister, Nancy Bassett of Syracuse, N.Y.; one grandson.

The family will be at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home, West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Rev. C.M. Fogleman Jr.
BURLINGTON - Rev. Dr. C. M. "Jack" Fogleman Jr., 81, of 1543 Flora Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Front Street United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. William C. Simpson, the Rev. G. Robert McKenzie Jr. and the Rev. Dermont Reid officiating. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

He was a native of Alamance County, a retired Methodist minister, and a member of the Kansas West Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University with a B.A. in history and where he received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity, and was a graduate of Duke University with a Bachelor of Divinity and a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Surviving are wife, Edith Morgan Fogleman of the home; daughter, LaDonna Zazenski of AtIantic Beach; sons, Ronald D. Fogleman of Burlington, Dr. Millard Lynn Fogleman of Beverly, Ky.; five grandchildren.

The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home, Burlington, 6-8 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

Hubert C. Greene
TROY - Hubert Chase Greene, 84, of 1048 N. Main St., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, with Dr. Walter Yoho officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County, attended Trinity United Methodist Church, was a retired World War II and Korean Conflict U.S. Army veteran, a policeman for the Town of Troy for 16 years and a retired magistrate from Montgomery County after 20 years.

Surviving are sister, Carole G. Byrd of Mt. Gilead; brother, Joe E. Greene of Newport News, Va.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Monday.

Eunice M. Freeman
BISCOE - Eunice May Freeman, 80, of Biscoe, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Dr. W. E. McPeters and the Rev. C.R. Irby officiating. Burial will be in Biscoe Cemetery.

Surviving are sister, Doris Needham of Biscoe; brother, Edward Callicutt of Biscoe.

Phillips Funeral Home, Star, is in charge of the arrangements.

Joann K. Russell
THOMASVILLE - Joann Kidd Russell, 56, of 1180 Joe Moore Road, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, with Pastor Fred Rogers and Pastor Mark Kent officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County and retired from Marsh Kitchens Inc. as an office manager.

Surviving are husband, Kermit Payne Russell of the home; daughter, Terri Holt of Asheboro; sister, Nancy White of Winston-Salem.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Edith S. Kimrey
SILER CITY - Edith Siler Kimrey, 74, of 2478 Old US 421 North, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Staley United Methodist Church, Staley, with the Rev. Monte Siler and the Rev. David Edinger officiating. Burial will be in Staley Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Richard. C. (Rodney) Kimrey, a retired beautician and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are daughters, Carolyn K. Hulbert of Raleigh, Lois K. Ross-DeLashmet of Atlanta, Ga.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Lonnie W. Varner
TROY - Lonnie William Varner, 83, of 329 W. Roswell St., died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Lovejoy United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Crawford Slagle and the Rev. Jack Page officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County native and a retired employee of Taylor Mobile Homes.

Surviving are wife, Mildred Andrews Varner of the home; son, Joel Varner of the home; sister, Josie Huneycutt of Stanfield; brother, James Wilton Varner of Troy.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Gertrude B. Hawk
Gertrude Boler Hawk, 80, of 5729 Hawk Farm Road, Ramseur, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Cross Road Retirement Community, Asheboro.

There will be no service.

She was the retired co-owner and operator of Valley View Nursing Home in Frankfort, Ohio, and a member of Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, Ramseur.

Surviving are husband, James Blen Hawk; son, David William Hawk of Ramseur; brothers, Earl Boler of Florida, Albert Boler of Milton, Fla., Vernon Boler of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of the son, 5753 Hawk Farm Road, Ramseur.

Clyde Lambeth
Clyde Lambeth, 72, of 725 Sherwood Road, Asheboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired co-owner and operator of Lambeth-Ward TV, was of the Baptist Faith, attended Fayetteville Street Baptist Church and was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps and Infantry veteran.

Surviving are wife, Lucille Williams Lambeth of Asheboro; sister, Frances Lambeth of Asheboro; brother, Lacy Lambeth of Welcome.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, other times at the home.

Frances B. Parker
Frances Dudley Brooks Parker, 80, of Midlothian, Va., died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, in Asheboro.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Farmville Baptist Church, Farmville, Va., where she was a member.

She was the widow of Thomas W. Brooks Jr., a 1941 graduate of Longwood College, Farmville, Va., with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in 1962. She was a teacher in Prince George, Chesterfield, Prince Edward, Amelia Counties in Virginia and Prince Edward Academy, a director of Placement and Admissions Counselor and director of Admissions at Longwood College. She was a member of Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter of DAR and Garden Study Club and on the advisory committee of the License Practical Nursing School for Southside Community Hospital. She attended Brandermill Church and was a member of the Country Club of Virginia.

Surviving are husband, Dr. Joseph C. Parker of Richmond, Va.; daughters, Nancy Brooks Neill of Asheboro, Ann Gray Brooks of Centreville, Va.,; sons, Thomas W. Brooks III and Stephen M. Brooks, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepsons, Dr. Joseph C. Parker Jr. of Louisville, Ky., Richard H. Parker of Corona, Calif., Dr. Henry R. Parker of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; stepdaughters, Melinda P. Skinner of Richmond, Va., Dr. Kate H. Parker of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandsons; nine stepgrandchildren.

Minerva P. Conner
RANDLEMAN - Minerva L. Parker Conner, 87, formerly of 201 N. Stout St., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Alvin C. Newcomb officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Joseph C. Conner and retired from A.J. Schnierson & Son in Randleman.

Surviving are daughters, Nancy C. Peeler of Asheboro, Peggy L. Pike of Warrenburg, Mo.; son, Bobby Joe Conner of Randleman; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Nancy C. Peeler, 315 Quaker Drive, Asheboro.

LIBERTY - Booker T. Pratt of 105 Carter St., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Knotts Funeral Home, Siler City. Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Liberty.

He was retired from Quality Veneer in Liberty.

Surviving are daughters, Deela Annette Brown of Greensboro, Sylvia Lee of Ramseur, Shannon Devon Alston of Siler City; sisters, Bertha Lee P. Brown of Ramseur, Flonnie Lee Shoffner Patterson of Siler City; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.

Wilma H. Craig
GREENSBORO - Wilma Geraldine Holder Craig, 60, of 3915 Wintergarden Lane, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Clifton Road Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Adrian Harris officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery, McLeansville.

She was a native of Guilford County, a certified nursing assistant with Masonic and Eastern Star Home and a volunteer with Wesley Long Hospital.

Surviving are children, James C. Craig of Franklinville, Robin Riggs and Ray Riggs, both of Greensboro; father, the Rev. Walter William Holder of Greensboro; brothers, Walter Wayne Holder of Beckley, W.Va., James C. Holder of Southport; one grandson.

The family will be at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home, Elm Street, Greensboro, 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Paul S. Freeman
TROY - Paul Smith Freeman, 57, of 3705 White Horse Road, Greenville, S.C., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville, S.C.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, Candor, with the Rev. Shirley Freeman and the Rev. Doug Shuff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Richmond, Va., a U.S. Army veteran and a retired brick mason.

Surviving are daughters, Paula Fortenberry of Greer, S.C., Sherry King of Duncan, S.C.; brother, Ray Freeman of Cold Water, Miss.; sisters, Evelyn Pressley of Charlotte, Callie Bradshaw of Manassas, Va., Lillian King of Lyman, S.C.; three grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 1-3 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

BISCOE - Myrtle Stallings Navy, 94, formerly of Biscoe, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Sunnybrook Alzheimer's Healthcare.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Biscoe, where she was a member, with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Biscoe Cemetery.

She was a native of Lincoln County and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughters, Jane Luquire of Raleigh, Dorothy Paschal of San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth Barrett of Arlington, Ore.; sons, William F. Navy and Steve Navy, both of Charlotte; sisters, Bonnie Peeler of Lincolnton, Jessie Miller of Pompano Beach, Fla.; brother, Dutch Stallings of Pompano Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

BISCOE - Wistar Ray Kimrey, 83, of 766 Post Office Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, with the Rev. Leon Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Biscoe Cemetery.

He was a native of Stanly County, a World War II veteran and a retired welding instructor with Montgomery Community College.

Surviving are sons, Donald Kimrey of Liberty, Bobby Kimrey of Finger, Roy C. Moore of Biscoe, Benjamin C. Moore of Troy; daughter, Patricia Spivey of Biscoe; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Sadie K. McNair
ROBBINS - Sadie Kennedy McNair, 60, of 630 Forest Drive, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ernest Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Charles E. McNair and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughters, Jackie Hall of Pinehurst, Terry Spencer of Carthage; sons, Tony C. McNair of West End, W. Kenneth McNair of Carthage; sisters, Lula K. Boone of Carthage, Ruth K. Smith of Robbins; brother, Curtis Kennedy of Robbins; seven grandchildren.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Terry Spencer, 2149 Borden Road, Carthage.

CARTHAGE - Floyd Rufus Morgan, 75, of 648 Priest Hill Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rock Hill Friends Church, with the Rev. John Powell and the Rev. Gaither Reich officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County and a retired lumberman.

Williams of Eagle Springs; brothers, James Morgan, Lester Morgan, Leonard Morgan, Clarence Morgan, Kenneth Morgan and Roy Morgan, all of Carthage, Joseph Morgan of Mt. Calm, Texas.
