SEAGROVE - Arkie Hayes Garner, 81, of 4449 Maness Road, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at SunBridge Care of Siler City.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Gyles Saunders officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughters, Vernice Williamson of Asheboro, Ruby Jones of Bennett; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Jones, 329 Lee St., Bennett.

Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruth P. Sapp
GREENSBORO - Ruth Elizabeth Pickens Sapp, 92, of Greensboro, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Carolina Commons, Greensboro.

Graveside service will be noon Saturday at Green Hill Cemetery in Greensboro, with the Rev. Randy Wall officiating.

She was a native of Spartanburg, S.C., the widow of Newell W. Sapp and had attended West Hampton College of Richmond, Va. She was a member of West Market Street Methodist Church, had a life membership in the United Methodist Women, was a member of the O'Henry Study Club, the Sunset Hills Garden Club, and the Earl of Shaftesbury Chapter, Colonial Dames XVII Century.

Surviving are daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" S. Suiter, of Ahoskie; son, Newell Winfeld Sapp Jr. of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Mary Alice McKown of Florida; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the charily of the donor's choice.

Deborah M. Timmons
DENTON - Deborah Morgan Timmons, 38, of 368 High Rock Road, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill from injuries received in an automobile accident on Wednesday morning.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, with the Rev. Kenneth Marshburn officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, employed with Sealy Mattress in High Point and was a member of the Davidson Archery Range.

Surviving are husband, Ronnie Timmons of the home; daughter, Morgan Timmons of the home; mother, Mary Morgan of Denton; brothers, Joe Morgan and Jackie Morgan, both of Denton; sister, Darlene Vestal of Denton.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

ROBBINS - Mary Sanders Brewer, 77, of 1987 Browns Mill Road, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Browns Chapel Christian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Brady Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County.

Surviving are daughters, Louise Smith and Lavaugn McNeill, both of Robbins; sons, Keith Brewer and Maurice Brewer, both of Robbins; sister, Etta Mae Collins of Pilot Mountain; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

Carlyne S. Davis
ROBBINS - Carlyne Sanders Davis, 80, of 221 Ross St., died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ernest G. Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Clarence W. Davis and was retired from the In & Out Convenience Store, Robbins.

Surviving are daughter, Mable D. Rogers of New Orleans, La.; sons, Clarence W. "Buck" Davis of Mooresville, Billy R. Davis of Sanford; sisters, Ardena Burns Lewis of Robbins, Janie S. Kellis of Candor; brothers, Glen L. Sanders and Charlie H. Sanders, both of Robbins; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home.

Dennis M. Davis
ROBBINS - Dennis Martin Davis, 71, of 119 Coolidge Road, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. John Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Dover Baptist Church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County, a U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of Carthage Fabrics.

Surviving are wife, Ethelene Garner Davis of the home; daughter, JoAnne D. Chavis of Robbins; sons, Tony M. Davis and Timothy G. Davis, both of the home; sisters, Lena D. Brown of Asheboro, Amy D. Hurley of Troy, Loucinda Smith of Ether; brothers, Lewis Davis and Waylon Davis, both of Seagrove, Harvey Davis, Winfred Davis and Dalton Davis, all of Star; two grandchildren.

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Rev. W. Carson Webb, 67, died Thursday, April 20, 2000.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at University Church of God in Greenville, with the Rev. Wayne Flora, the Rev. Charles E. Thompson and the Rev. Odell McBride officiating. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. in Macclesfield Cemetery.

He was a native of Wilson County and pastored churches in Nashville, Robbinsville, Roseboro, Roxboro, Goldsboro, Washington and Rocky Mount.

Surviving are wife, Ruby Smith Webb; daughter, Luella W. Sauls of Asheboro; brother, Kermit Y. Webb of Jupiter Farms, Fla.; sisters, Lucille W. Sanderson Newell and Edna W. Moody, both of Macclesfield, Vivian W. Jackson of Pinetops, Sylvia W. Summerlin of Crisp; two grandsons.

Glenn Craig Freeman, 57, of 456 Foxworth Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. J. Arnold Luther and the Rev. Gary Marshall officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County and employed with International Minute Press and H & R Block, both in Greensboro. He performed with the NC Precision Drill Team, was a former volunteer with the Ash-Rand Rescue Squad and was a teacher and examiner for Emergency Medical Technicians.

Surviving are wife, Joyce Saunders Freeman of Asheboro; son, Dwayne S. Freeman of Candor; daughter, Carlatta Jean Luther of Asheboro; parents, Glenn S. and Dorothy H. Freeman of Asheboro; two grandsons.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Margaret & Lawson Parrish, 10431 Randleman Road, Level Cross.

RANDLEMAN - Margaret Hancock Teal, 72, of Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation and formerly of Randleman, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Randleman, with the Rev. AIvin C. Newcomb officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Charles L. Teal and attended First Wesleyan Church, Randleman.

Surviving are daughter, Lynn T. Kirkman of Randleman; sisters, Nida Hancock of Randleman, Annie Lee Krog of Slater, Mo., Hilda VonCannon of Winston-Salem, Mary Hill of Greensboro; brother, Sam Hancock of Dayton, Ohio; two grandsons.

The family will be at the daughter's home, 155 Kirkman Place, Randleman.

SILER CITY - Betty Frances Poe Hart, 81, of Rt. 2, Bear Creek, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Chatham Hospital, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Antioch Christian Church, Bear Creek, where she was a member, with the Rev. Clark Davis and the Rev. L. M. Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Lee County, the widow of Arthur Joe Hart and was retired from Collins & Aikman.

Surviving are son, J. C. Hart of Greenville, S.C.; daughters, Elizabeth Hamer of Siler City, Frances Norris of Sanford; brothers, Russell Poe of Greensboro, Everette Poe of Asheboro, Henry Poe of Sanford; sisters, Nellie Kate Burns of Robbins, Jean Harris of Asheboro, Eleanor Burns of Cumnock; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Dixie, W. Va., and of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are husband, Billy G. Lowe of Bear Creek; daughter, Billie Jean L. Cassidy of Bear Creek; father, A. J. McGraw of Sanford; mother, Peggy McGraw of Sanford; brothers, Bob McGraw of Beckly, W. Va., Jerry McGraw and William McGraw, both of Raleigh; two grandchildren.

William Richard Yow, 66, of 2121 McKelvey Drive, Greensboro, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gray's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Lawrence Clapp officiating.

He was a native of Central Falls, retired from Acme-McCrary Corp. and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are wife, Patricia "Pat" Simmons Yow; daughter, Sherry Y. Walls of Asheboro; one grandson.

She was a native of Bridgeport Conn. and was employed with Burns Security Services at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Asheboro for 15 years.

Surviving is sister, Annie Ruth Lambert of Randleman.

Janie A. Craven
PLEASANT GARDEN - Janie Allred Craven, 91, of Pleasant Garden, died Sunday, April 23, 2000.

She was a native of Davidson County and retired from Burlington Industries.

Surviving are wife, Tammy Hunt Thompson of the home; daughters, Angela Thompson and Kayla Thompson, both of Troy, Ashley Gooch of the home; sons, Tommy Thompson Jr., River Thompson and Anthony Privett, all of the home; parents, Bill and Peggy Lynthacum of Troy; sister, Marie Tucker of Millingport; half sister, Betty Jo Maness of Troy; brothers, Archie Thompson and Danny Thompson, both of Troy; half brothers, Richard Lynthacum and Bill Lynthacum Jr., both of Troy.

He was a native of Moore County, a member of Gospel Holiness Church and was employed with Clayson Knitting Co. for 25 years.

Surviving are wife, Nella Stidham Davis of the home; daughter, Patricia Lynn Lawson of Stuart, Va.; son, Michael Wayne Davis of Stuart, Va.; stepdaughter, Brenda Rothrock of Raeford; stepson, James Michael Stidham of Star; half sisters, Nannie Mae Godfrey of West End, Nellie J. Davis of Lillington; half brothers, Ronnie Davis of Staley, Edward Davis of Star; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Clarence Lamar, 92, of 615 City View St., Asheboro, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was a native of Asheboro, the widower of Margaret Hill Lamar, retired from Klopman Mills in Ramseur, employed by First National Bank and was a school crossing guard at McCrary School.

Surviving are six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
