RANDLEMAN - Ella Wilson Ford, 85, of 592 Stout St., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Randleman.

Surviving are daughters, Margaret Mills of Randleman, Elizabeth Heard of New York, N.Y.; son, Gene Williams of Winston-Salem; brothers, David Wilson, Issac Wilson, Herman Wilson, all of Winston-Salem; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Gailes Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

William M. Fitzgerald
LIBERTY - William Morgan Fitzgerald, 84, of 290 N. Bethesda Road, Southern Pines, formerly of Liberty, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church in Liberty, where he was a member, with the Rev. Sam Shores officiating. Burial will be 4:30 p.m. at Bethesda Cemetery in Southern Pines.

He was a native of Gretna, Va., founder, president and manager of Randolph Telephone Co. and former councilman of Grace Lutheran Church. He was a former board member of BB&T in Liberty, a member of the Liberty Lions Club and an honorary member of the Liberty Fire Department. He was a past member of Liberty Masonic Lodge 714, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Oasis Shrine, the York Rite and the Scottish Rite.

Surviving are wife, Esther Maples Fitzgerald of the home; brothers, William Fitzgerald of Key Biscayne, Fla., Gray Fitzgerald of Center Barnstead, N.H., Dr. John Fitzgerald of Richmond, Va.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

Vessie S. Kiser
GREENSBORO - Vessie Strider Kiser, 86, of 2001 Random Drive, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Britthaven of Guilford.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Street Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

She was the widow of Robert Leon Kiser, a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinville and retired from Blue Bell.

Surviving are daughters, Mary Lou Wyrick of Greensboro, Martha Kiser of Orlando, Fla.; sons, Richard L. Kiser of Pleasant Garden, Bernard Kiser of Louisville, Ky., Jerry Kiser of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Martha S. Hilliard of Franklinville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

Gerald "Jerry" K. Hunt
SEAGROVE - Gerald "Jerry" Keith Hunt, 70, of 375 Walter Road, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, at Dover Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are wife, Mildred Dunlap Hunt of the home; brother, J.C. "Bill" Hunt of Carysville, Tenn.; sister, Betty Shaw of Ramseur; one grandson.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

Tom J. Kennedy
MANHEIM, PA. - Tom J. Kennedy, 92, of 2606 Hossler Road, formerly of Pound, Va., died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at Buch Funeral Home, Manheim. Burial will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township.

He was a native of Toms Creek, Va., a Baptist and a retired coal miner.

Surviving are wife, Lola Mullins Kennedy; sons, Howard Kennedy of Manheim, Johnnie N. Kennedy of Asheboro; daughter, Frances M. Heisey of Lititz; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of service.

Zeb V. Bulla
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Zebulon "Zeb" Vance Bulla, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at The Methodist Home, Nashville, Tenn.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Triune United Methodist Church, Triune, Tenn. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, attended Charlotte School, was a former member of Charlotte United Methodist Church and was the retired owner of Bulla Construction Company.

Surviving are daughters, Gladys Cothran of Triune, Tenn., Betty Hartsock of Hendersonville, Tenn.; sons, Zebulon Vance Bulla Jr., Tom Bulla, Dan Bulla, all of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Mary Ellen Parrish of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.

Roesch Patton Funeral Service, Nashville, Tenn., is in charge of the arrangements.

ASHEBORO - Herman Wright, 70, of Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation Center, Asheboro, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. John Beane officiating. Burial will be in Back Creek Friends Meeting Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, worked 33 years for B.B. Walker Shoe Company and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are sons, Bobby Herman Wright, Tony Junior Wright, both of Asheboro; daughters, Becky Welch of Asheboro, Regina Chriscoe of Randleman; eight grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday; other times at the homes of his children.

SOPHIA - Edith Ophelia Underwood Moody, 91, of 5185 Walker Mill Road, Sophia, formerly of Asheboro, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Back Creek Friends Meeting, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ray Lambe and the Rev. George McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Elmer Moody, and was retired from Burlington Industries.

Surviving are daughter, Betty M. Walker of Sophia; sister, Mary Louise Klabbatz of Aberdeen; brothers, Colon Underwood of Randleman, Carl Underwood of Asheboro; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Gerald "Jerry" K. Hunt
SEAGROVE - Gerald "Jerry" Keith Hunt, 70, of 375 Walter Road, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at his home.

He was retired from J.H. Allen Construction.

Betty L. Weaver
LITTLE RIVER, S.C. - Betty L. Weaver, 66, of Greenbrier Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Lee Funeral Home, Little River. Burial will be in Southeastern Memorial Gardens.

She was a native of Asheboro.

Surviving are husband, Bobby Weaver of Little River; sons, Mark Weaver of Columbia, S.C., Darrell Weaver of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren.

Wayne Gibson
ASHEBORO - Wayne Gibson, 67, of 1511 Timberlane Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Asheboro, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, worked at Randolph Electric Membership Corporation and retired from JRA Industries after 25 years. He was a member and past president of the Asheboro Jaycees, a past president of the Asheboro Kiwanis Club and a member of the First Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ.

Surviving are wife, Joyce Mills Gibson of the home; daughter, Karen Patterson of Columbus, Ga.; mother, Lucille Hughes of Asheboro; brother, Bill Gibson of Asheboro; half-brother, Buddy Hughes of Weaverville.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday.

ASHEBORO - Susan Richardson Small, 40, of 2006 Trogdon Hill Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at First Baptist Church, Franklinville, with the Rev. Kenneth McNeill, the Rev. Garry Reeder and the Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, employed at Tafco Furniture Company and a homemaker. She attended Russell Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are husband, Ronald D. Small; daughter, Rhonda Small of the home; mother, Wilma G. Richardson; brother, Mike Richardson of Franklinville.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Monday; other times at the home.

Doris C. Steed
WEST END - Doris C. Steed, 66, of West End, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rainbow Baptist Church in Aberdeen, with the Rev. Wayne Jones and Jack Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Fork Christian Church Cemetery, Sanford.

She was a native of Moore County, the widow of Harold T. Steed and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughters, Brenda Grant of Aberdeen, Betty Chavis of Carthage, Patricia Gibson of West End; brothers, Harold T. Steed Jr. of Aberdeen, Fred M. Steed of Candor; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, 7-9 p.m. Monday; other times at the home.

Julio M. Ospina
ASHEBORO - Julio Cesar Marin Ospina, 84, of 127 Dixon St., Asheboro, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Father Joseph W. Mack officiating.

He was a native of Colombia, South America.

Surviving are children, Nubia Marin, Fabio Marin, Jaime Marin, Jairo Marin, Ovidio Marin, Blanca Marin, Olga Marin, Doely Marin, Dario Marin, Nora Marin, Julio Marin and Jorge Marin.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 2-5 p.m. Tuesday.

Barbara V. Wright
ASHEBORO - Barbara Voncannon Wright, 67, of 226 Underwood St., Asheboro, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spoons Chapel United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. Larry W. McEntire and the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and was retired from Carolina Cafe.

Surviving are daughters, Sylvia W. King, Susan W. McDowell, Sandra W. Davis, all of Asheboro, Sheila W. McGee of Ramseur; sisters, Gladys Cox, Frances Bullins, Margaret Shelton, all of Asheboro; brothers, Nolan Voncannon, Dempsey Voncannon, both of Asheboro; 10 grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at her home.

Ed Tysinger
RANDLEMAN - Edgar William "Ed" Tysinger, 90, of 370 Allred Way, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Bill Baulding and the Rev. Bill Barnes officiating.

He was a native of Worthville, the widower of Flata Tysinger and was retired from Fieldcrest Industries. He was a softball league manager, a manager of the Worthville Little League and was the 1957 Deep River Little League Manager of the Year.

Surviving are sons, Jock Tysinger, Buren Tysinger, both of Randleman; daughter, Sharon Lambert of Randleman; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home of Sharon Lambert, 370 Allred Way, Randleman.

Dubert L. Ferguson
LIBERTY - Dubert L. Ferguson, 87, formerly of Liberty, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Howard Spray officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a retired farmer and a former employee of Beaman Corp.

Surviving are wife, Myrtle Nunn Ferguson of Siler City; brother, Isaac Ferguson of Liberty; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

CANDOR - William Elvan Harris, 76, of 144 Harris Cemetery Road, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Mount Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mitchell Walker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of Gilead Manufacturing Corporation of Mt. Gilead.

Surviving are wife, Doris Thompson Harris of the home; son, Melvin Harris of Candor; daughters, Sandra Johnson of Lewisville, Elizabeth Bruton, Carol Elam, both of Candor; brother, Herbert Harris of Candor; sisters, Louis Dale of Candor, Betty Burro of Asheboro; three grandchildren.

The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

CANDOR - Edwin E. "Pop" Pollard, 87, of Tomlinson Street, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Biscoe, with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Candor Cemetery.

He was a native of Mississippi, a 1936 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in mechanical engineering, a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and a retired general manager and partner of Foundry Service Co. in Biscoe.

Surviving are son, Edwin E. Pollard Jr. of Candor; daughter, Diane P. LeBlanc of Charlotte; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home, Candor, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Barry W. Jones
KERNERSVILLE - Barry Wayne Jones, 45, of 2903 Gumtree Road, Winston-Salem, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

Graveside service was 11 a.m. Monday at Holly Springs Friends Meeting Cemetery, Ramseur, with Dr. Joe Myers officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County, an employee of Omni Metal Fab. Co. and was a master machinist.

Surviving are daughter, Laura Lane Jones of Walkertown; son, Adam Wayne Jones of Walkertown: sisters, Robin J. Woods of Kernersville, Debra Ruth Jones of Washington, D.C.; brother, Wesley Irven Jones III of Kernersville; one granddaughter.

Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home, Kernersville, was in charge of the arrangements.
