RANDLEMAN - James T. "Jim" Henson Jr., 51, of 5314 Old Greensboro Road, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Midway Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. J. Arnold Luther and William L. "Pete" Cozart officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Randolph County, a former disc jockey with WKXR (formerly WGWR), where he was known as Big Jim, and was employed as an Information Systems Coordinator at the Greensboro Bulk Mail Center for over 25 years.

Surviving are wife, Doris Allred Henson of Randleman; father, James T. Henson Sr. of Asheboro; mother, Wanda B. Rich of Asheboro; son, Bobby of Randleman; sisters, Cheryl Batchelor of Martinez, Ga., Tina Brady of Asheboro; brothers, Phillip Henson and Eddie McLain, both of Asheboro.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Robert F. Brackin Sr.
GREENSBORO - Robert Foy Brackin Sr., 69, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Kale officiating.

He was a native of Guilford County, a member of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class at Muir's Chapel Church, was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Bank of America and worked with the National Recovery and Collection Association.

Surviving are wife, Mamie Wagoner Brackin of the home; son, Robert F. "Chip" Brackin Jr. of Greensboro; daughter, Lynn B. Routh of Randleman; brother, William Bennett "Ben" Brackin of Greensboro; two step-grandchildren.

The family will be at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home, West Friendly Avenue Chapel, Greensboro, 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Pallie R. Ferree
ASHEBORO - Pallie Rich Ferree, 100, of 1916 Finch Farm Road, Trinity, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Dr. Boyd Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, was the oldest living member of First United Methodist Church of Asheboro and she was retired from Acme-McCrary.

Surviving is brother, James M. Rich of Asheboro.

The family will be at the funeral home 2:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of her brother, 144 S. McCrary St., Asheboro.

Danny R. Reeder
ASHEBORO - Danny Ray Reeder, 47, of 4668 Robbins Circle, Asheboro, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Ray Swaney and the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Shepherd Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a self-employed truck driver, attended High Rock Baptist Church and attended Southwestern Randolph High School.

Surviving are wife, Jo Causey Reeder of the home; daughter, Tami Miller of Troy; sisters, Margie Beanblossom of Denton, Ada Ray, Shirley Cagle, Mary Marley, Barbara Davis, all of Seagrove; brothers, Clyde Reeder, J.C. Reeder, Sanford Reeder, Dewey Reeder, all of Seagrove, Winford Reeder of Ramseur; two grandsons.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home of Pearl Causey, 4617 Robbins Circle, Asheboro.

Cletus R. Bulla
SOPHIA - Cletus Raeford Bulla, 70, of 1783 Cletus Lane, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Charlotte United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Wood officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors.

He was a native of Randolph County, a member of South Plainfield Friends Meeting, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post #45 and was a retired bus driver with Carolina American Tours of Greensboro.

Surviving are wife, Pattie S. Bulla; daughters, Sue B. Luck and Wilma B. Brown, both of Asheboro; son, Cletus Raeford Bulla Jr. of Sophia; brother, Leon Bulla of Sophia; three grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

ASHEBORO - Lee Roy Reeder, 59, of 3580 Midway Acres Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Church of God, where he was a member, with the Rev. Terry Beaver and the Rev. Jimmy Herron officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, employed with Galey & Lord, was an auctioneer and a gospel singer.

Surviving are wife, Nancy Jackson Reeder of the home; daughter, Angela R. Brady of Asheboro; son, Jeff Reeder of Asheboro; mother, Pauline Maness Reeder of Seagrove; sister, Linda R. Wilhelm of Seagrove; brothers, Ralph Reeder and Charles Reeder, both of Asheboro.

SOPHIA - David Kenneth "Ken" Johnson, 72, of 6574 U.S. 311, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Old Union United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Lanny Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Davidson County, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired painter with Hatteras Yachts.

Surviving are wife, Nellie H. Johnson of Sophia; daughters, Sheila Barnes, Debbie Brady, Fonda Johnson, all of Sophia; son, David Brian Johnson of Sophia; brothers, Carlis R. Johnson of Thomasville, Ronnie Johnson of Lexington; sisters, Elsie Woodring, Jean Myers, Juanita Swaim, all of High Point; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

CANDOR - Charles Edward Allen, 28, of Thomas Street, Asheboro, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Community Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Fred Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Allen Family Cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County and was employed with Quik Chek, Inc.

Surviving are mother, Peggy Jean Allen of Hamlet; brother, Joseph R. Allen of Boomer; sister, Brenda Kay Allen of the home; grandparents, Ivey Dunlap of Highfalls, Katherine Allen of Candor.

The family will be at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home, Candor, 7-9 p.m. Monday.

TROY - Helen Galloway Greene, 88, of Lutheran Nursing Home, Albemarle, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at the nursing home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lovejoy United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Jack Page and Dr. Reginald Ponder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Montgomery County and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughter, Priscilla G. Perry of Albemarle; one grandchild; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 3-6 p.m. Monday.

SILER CITY - Dorothy Ellington Langley, 72, of 872 Bish Road, Staley, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at her home.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Walter Jones officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.

She was a native of Chatham County, a homemaker and attended Brookdale Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Linda L. Barber of Staley, Debbie L. Acquilin of Asheboro; sister, Lou E. Bish of Siler City; brothers, Jack Ellington of Gastonia, William Ellington of Greensboro; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home of Linda L. Barber, 898 Bish Road, Staley.

Ruth B. Burgess
ASHEBORO - Ruth Tyson Brown Burgess, 87, of 505 N.C. 42 North, Asheboro, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Larry Stines officiating. Burial will be in Browers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Tyson's Creek, a member of Browers Chapel United Methodist Church and was retired from Bossong Hosiery and Rampon Products.

Surviving are husband, William Burgess of Asheboro; sons, Donald Brown and Gary Brown, both of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

ASHEBORO - Sylvia Jane Phillips Botelho, 46, of 608 Springdale Drive, Asheboro, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at her home.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Randolph Memorial Park, with the Rev. Tim Pheagin officiating.

She was a native of Guilford County and had worked for CLP Enterprises.

Surviving are son, Don Sapp of the home; mother, Hazel Neal of Trinity; sister, Shelby Clifton of Trinity; brothers, Henry Phillips and Marvin Phillips, both of Trinity, Mike Phillips of Archdale, Grover Phillips of High Point; granddaughter, Jessica Sapp of the home.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Beth L. Sloan
ASHEBORO - Beth Lyle Sloan, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Carillon Assisted Living of Asheboro. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Highlands Funeral Home, Louisville, Ky. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville.

She was a native of Louis-ville, Ky.

Surviving is brother, Andy Upton of Asheboro.

Bennie Wilson
ASHEBORO - James Bennie Wilson, 93, of 1204 Ben Lambeth Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Living Waters Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Pugh and Cecil Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County and was retired from Bossong Hosiery Mill.

Surviving are daughter, Linda W. Reeder of Asheboro; sons, George T. Wilson of Seagrove, James R. Wilson and Bobby Wayne Wilson, both of Sophia, Lloyd E. Wilson of Asheboro; sisters, Margaret Newsom and Annie Burns, both of Siler City, Katie Cranford of Asheboro; brothers, Henry Wilson and Bill Wilson, both of Asheboro; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Lloyd Wilson, 1935 Dover St., Asheboro.

John W. Church
RANDLEMAN - John "Johnny" William Church, 40, of 117 Trollinger St., died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Henry Sink and Dr. John Noble officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a 1979 graduate of Asheboro High School, attended East Carolina University, was a graduate of Randolph Community College and a 1982 graduate of Elon College. He was a member of Balfour Baptist Church, attended St. John's Lutheran Church and was an assistant baseball coach for Randleman Parks and Recreation Department.

Surviving are wife, Vicky Stafford Church; son, Derek Rhyne Church of the home; daughter, Julie Weston Church of the home; parents, Joseph and Kathryn Church of Asheboro; sisters, Becky Solomon of Atlanta, Ga., Susie Luther and Betsy Jane Church, both of Asheboro; brother, Joseph White Church Jr. of Sophia.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

LEVEL CROSS - Ada Mae Campbell, 62, of Campbell Road, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home, North Elm Street, Greensboro. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

Surviving are husband, Clyde Campbell Sr. of the home; daughters, Jeanette Lynn Passmore and Jo Ann Wooten, both of Level Cross; son, Clyde W. Campbell Jr. of Randleman; sisters, Shirley McKiddy of Harlow, Georgia Meadows of New Bern; brothers, Thomas Riggs of Newport, Franklin Riggs of Gibsonville, Troy Riggs of Grays Chapel.

Lavern E. Patterson
LIBERTY - Lavern Esther Patterson, 71, 520 Swannanoa Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Hospice Homes, Chapel Hill Road.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Creek AME Church, Snow Camp, where she was a member, with the Rev. Archie Evans officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was retired from Hardin's Florist in Liberty, a member of the Senior and Gospel Choir, Missionary Society and Former Trustee and Board Member.

Surviving are sister, Iona Elizabeth Siler of Liberty.

The family will be at the church 2-2:30 p.m. before the service; other times at the home of Leonard and Patricia Foust, 3565 Garner Road, Snow Camp.

Howard G. Stubblefield Sr.
GREENSBORO - Howard Glenn Stubblefield Sr., 85, formerly of Randleman Road, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at Country Club Rest Home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Guilford Memorial Park.

He was the widower of Marguerite Stubblefield, a driver with Associated Transport for 37 years and a lifetime member of the Castle Hayne Hunting Club. He attended Centre Friends Meeting.

Surviving are daughter, Brenda Wofford of Greensboro; son, Howard G. Stubblefield Jr. of Randleman; sister, Versie S. Mindling of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Sedgefield Chapel, Greensboro, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
