RANDLEMAN - Bonnie Johnson Goley, 83, of 7699 Old Siler City Road, Ramseur, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at N.C. Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Scott Hyatt officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker and a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Patricia Osborne of Kernersville; son, Larry J. Goley of Wilmington; sisters, Faye Johnson, Alice Dorsett, both of Ramseur; brother, Jim Johnson of Ramseur; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Randolph Unit, P.O. Box 515, Asheboro, N.C. 27204.

Sam F. Jones

LIBERTY - "Sam" Luther F. Jones, 56, of 130 Lewis Ave., died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Temple, Julian, with the Rev. Bill Huffman officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. in Mount Herman Cemetery, Surry County.

He was a native of Surry County and employed with Vickrey Seating.

Surviving are wife, Mary Greene Jones of the home; son, Virgil Marvin Jones of the home; daughter, Donna Jones of Carthage; stepdaughter, Pamela Ferguson of Liberty; stepson, Buddy Langley of Liberty; sisters, Mrs. Jimmy Elmore of Sophia, Jane Hopkins of Utah; brothers, Jimmy Jones, Bobby Jones, both of High Point, Tommy Jones of Staley, Elwood Henderson of West Virginia; six grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

Mildred G. Gilchrist

DENTON - Mildred Rebecca Green Gilchrist, 66, of 336 Anderson St., died Monday, June 8, 1998, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was a native of Margengo County, Ala., the widow of Harold Lloyd Gilchrist and a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries.

Surviving are daughters, Shirley Gilchrist of Denton, Brenda Chandler of Enterprise, Miss.; sister, Joyce Creasy of Tangerine, Fla.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia T. Lucas

ROBBINS - Virginia Thomas Lucas, 55, of 1267 Spies Road, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bear Creek Congregational Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. John Rudd and the Rev. Percy Hawes officiating. Burial will be in New Zion Cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County and a former employee of Ithaca Industries.

Surviving are husband, Matthew L. Lucas of the home; son, Alton L. Lucas of Carthage; daughters, Phyllis L. Wilson of Carthage, Lessie L. Richmond of Sanford, Teresa E. Lucas of Asheboro, Benita S. Lucas of the home; mother, Thelma Brower Thomas of Robbins; brothers, Samuel Brower, Larry Thomas, both of Robbins, James T. Thomas of Plainfield, N.J., Roger Thomas of Charlotte, Leon E. Thomas of Candor; sisters, Brenda T. Brower, Loretta T. Stanford, both of Robbins; seven grandchildren.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

Anna Fay Kearns Shaw, 90, of 342 Mack Road, Asheboro, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Edith V. Trogdon

Mary Edith Varner Trogdon, 81, of 3837 Pisgah Covered Bridge Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Robert Armstrong, the Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp, the Rev. Arnold Luther and the Rev. Mike McClure officiating. Burial will be in Whynot Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Ivan H. Trogdon and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughter, Janet Hoogkamp of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hoogkamp, 281 Spencer Meadow Road, Asheboro.

J. Frank Hill

James Frank Hill, 91, of 3630 Grantville Lane, Asheboro, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Country Forest Manor, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fall Creek Baptist Church, Bennett, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ron Chaney and the Rev. Roland Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Chatham County and retired from Burlington Mills.

Surviving are wife, Lillie Garner Hill; son, Charles Hill of Ramseur; sister, Fleta Kivett of Ramseur; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of the son, 2056 Brooklyn Ave., Ramseur.

Ocia F. Morgan

FARMER - Ocia Florine Morgan, 91, formerly of Farmer, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at The Presbyterian Home of High Point.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Farmer United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and retired as Post Master at Farmer in 1987.

Surviving are sisters, Mabel M. Byrd of Randleman, Sue M. Denny of High Point.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Betty A. Bruce

SEAGROVE - Betty Albright Bruce, 63, of 6537 New Center Church Road, died Sunday, June 14, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Center Christian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Melvin Morton and the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County.

Surviving are son, Roger Brown of Biscoe; sisters, Ann Allred of Star, Lois Brown, Myrtle McNeill, both of Seagrove; father, Elton Albright of the home; one grandson.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Charlie W. Singleton

TROY - Charlie Wesley Singleton, 84, of 183 Russell Drive, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial, Troy.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, with the Rev. Irvin Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Singleton Family Cemetery, Troy.

He was a native of Montgomery County.

Surviving are wife, Levena Russell Singleton of the home; daughters, Pat Cagle of Star, Judy Greene of Troy; sons, Charles Singleton of Troy, Teddy Singleton of Hampton, Va.; sister, Inez Porter of Star; brothers, Edgar Singleton, Lester Singleton, both of Star, Guy Singleton of Randleman; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Farrell G. Maness

ROBBINS - Farrell Glenn Maness, 53, of 2080 N. Moore Road, died Saturday, June 13, 1998.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ralph Voncannon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County and a former employee of Robbins Mills.

Surviving are wife, Mary Ann Singletary Maness; daughter, Connie A. Andre of Star; sons, Farrell G. Maness Jr. of Eagle Springs, Jonathan M. Maness of the home; sister, Margaret M. Voncannon of Seagrove; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Daniel C. Campbell

SHALLOTTE - Daniel Clifford Campbell, 72, of 1288 Sasspan Road, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Brunswick Community Hospital, Supply.

A graveside service was 2 p.m. Tuesday at Candor Cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Campbell officiating.

He was a native of Montgomery County and a retired textile employee.

Surviving are wife, Gladys Shelton Campbell of the home; son, Douglas C. Campbell of Winston-Salem; stepson, Donald Campbell of Biscoe; daughter, Judy Rogers of Rockingham; brother, Roy Campbell of Candor; Ruby Sale of Shallotte; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Fay Kearns Shaw, 90, of 342 Mack Road, Asheboro, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Earl Shaw and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

SILER CITY - William Erwin "Bill" McNeill, 65, of 1009 Parkwood Drive, died Monday, June 15, 1998.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Siler City, with the Rev. Brian Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and of the Rachel Allred Sunday School class at First Baptist Church, a member of Siler City Moose Lodge, a retired inspector with the N.C. Department of Transportation and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are wife, Shirley Caddell McNeill of Siler City; sons, Gregory S. McNeill of Lexington, William Keith McNeill of Asheboro, Tom Gaines of Siler City; daughters, Dorcas M. Lamb of Asheboro, Cecelia M. Kidd of Bennett, Gail M. Kendrick of Mechanicsville, Va.; 13 grandchildren.

She was a native of Richmond County, the widow of F. Montgomery Morris Jr., a homemaker and a 1934 graduate of Hoffman High School.

Surviving are sons, Fred Morris of Rockingham, Joe Morris of Salisbury; daughters, Jan M. Monroe of Asheboro, Nancy M. Williams of Gaithersburg, Md., Mary Morris of Rockingham; sister, Mary Roper of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; five great-grandsons.

The family will be at Watson-King Funeral Home, Rockingham, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

He was a native of Randolph County, a member of Henderson Hill Baptist Church, retired from Eveready Battery after 33 years and retired from the N.C. Army National Guard after 21 years.

Surviving are wife, Carlene Hayes Lucas of the home; sons, Derek Vance Lucas of Asheboro, Jonathan Darin Lucas of the home; parents, Burgess and Myrtle Lucas of Asheboro; sister, Sue Carol Barnes of Asheboro.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

She was a native of Wellington, Kan., a homemaker, a life member of N.C. Garden Club and a charter member of Carriage Hills Garden Club.

Surviving are husband, Maurice "Mike" Shobe of the home; son, Michael L. Shobe of Salado, Texas; daughters, Sandra Garland Locke of Chicago, Ill., Elizabeth Anne Walsh of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marsha Lee Ferguson of Liberty; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home, Guilford Chapel, Greensboro, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
