Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.

Mary A. Nelson

GREENSBORO - Mary Ann Nelson, infant daughter of Lisa Maness Baker and Jefferson Nelson, died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at Women's Hospital, Greensboro.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gilmore Memorial Park, Julian.

Surviving in addition to her parents are sister, Jessica Willie Nelson of the home; grandparents, Helen Maness, Garland and Mary Kindley.

Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Greensboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

CARTHAGE - Debbie M. Morgan, 17, of 374 Needham Road, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, in an automobile accident in Chatham County.

Rebecca Agnes Farlow, 85, of 327 Peachtree St., Asheboro, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, in Asheboro.

Becky M. Bowman

Frances Rebecca "Becky" Monroe Bowman, 42, of 2976 Norwood Lane, Asheboro, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at White's Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Dave Edinger, the Rev. Frank Howard and the Rev. Ken Lyon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Asheboro, a Sunday School teacher and secretary of the United Methodist Women at her church and was employed with the Randolph County Schools.

Surviving are husband, Vernon Bowman Jr. of Asheboro; sons, James Bowman, Daniel Bowman, Derrick Bowman, all of the home; parents, Albert and Ethel Monroe of Asheboro; sisters, Dean Kearns of Asheboro, Jean Graham of Siler City.

The family will at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Mary Allred Clark, 75, of 156 E. Academy St., died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Wesley Long Rehabilitation Center, Greensboro.

Vernie L. Welch Jr.

Vernie Lavon Welch Jr., 67, of 1383 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Asheboro, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. C.J. York officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County and retired from Seagrove Elementary School.

Surviving are daughter, Shirley Ann W. Saunders of Robbins; sons, Bobby Welch of Randleman, Steve Welch of Asheboro, Michael Welch of Denton; father, Vernon Lavon Welch Sr. of Ramseur; sisters, Verlene Hoover, Ruth Yow, both of Ramseur, Doris Pugh of Asheboro; brother, Russell Welch of Ramseur; 12 grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

James Homer York, 77, of 201 Foster St., Asheboro, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times, at the home of her son, 1319 Nance Road, Franklinville.

Debbie M. Morgan

She was a native of Moore County and a former employee of Ithaca Industries.

Surviving are parents, Kenneth H. and Kay Warren Morgan of the home; sister, Judy Morgan of Carthage.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of Arnold and Delores Lassiter, 577 Marley Road, Robbins.

SILER CITY - Jason Kyle Terry, 23, of Loves Creek Trailer Park, Box 181, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Burial will be in Trinity, Ala.

Surviving are mother, Nancy Wilson of Siler City; brother, Christopher Wilson of Siler City; sister, Pamela A. Wilson of New York; father, Kyle Henry Terry of Florida; stepmother, Joyce Terry of Florida; grandparents, M.A. Kirby of Courtland, Ala., Douglas Wilson, Mattie Wilson, both of Sanford; stepgrandmother, Estelle Kirby of Courtland, Ala.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Travis J. Valentine

SILER CITY - Travis James Valentine, 18, of 6614 U.S. 421 North, Staley, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Ronald Shcoen officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.

He was a member of Community Baptist Church and was employed with Roses.

Surviving are mother, Jacqueline Valentine Sheffield of Staley; father, Lacy T. Sheffield of Staley; brother, Joseph M. Sheffield of New York, N.Y.; grandparents, Eva Willard Smith of Robbins, Hobart Sheffield, Billy Joe Valentine, both of Sanford, Linsey Nell Thomas of Apex.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

SILER CITY - Pug Edward Seekings, 17, of 169 Archie Johnson Road, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Friday at Emmanus Baptist Church Cemetery, Pittsboro, with the Rev. Steve Moore officiating.

Surviving are sister, Molly Seekings of Siler City; mother, Mernita Wright Stonehan of Raleigh; father, Ken Wilcox of New York; brothers, David Seekings, Buck Seekings, both of Panama, N.Y., Norman Stonehan of Siler City.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Simone N. Alston

SILER CITY - Simone Nicole Alston, 8, of 1268 Wilson Road, Goldston, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Arnold Faw officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.

Surviving are father, Robert Earl Alston of Siler City; mother, Angela Camille Cline of Bennett; sister, Shvonne Camille Cline of Bennett; grandparents, Johnny Cline Jr., Blanche Cline, both of Goldston.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Lois N. DeBruin

SILER CITY - Lois Nunke DeBruin, 68, of 900 W. Dolphin St., died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Country Forest Manor, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Brad Thie officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.

She was a homemaker and member of the Sweet Adelines.

Surviving are daughters, Sharon D. Buckles of Siler City, Carol D. Hewitt of Eugene, Ore.; son, Michael DeBruin of Holt, Mich.; brother, Ron Nunke of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Agnes F. Farlow
Agnes F. Farlow, 85, of 327 Peachtree St., Asheboro, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, in Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Barney Pierce and the Rev. Ray Lambe officiating. Burial will be in South Plainfield Friends Meeting Cemetery, Sophia.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Aubrey Farlow, a licensed nursing assistant and a member of Asheboro Friends Meeting where she was a member of the Elderberries.

Surviving are daughter, Jo Ella Farlow Coble of Asheboro; sisters, Lela Maude F. Lowder of Norwood, Carol F. Wrape of Asheboro; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Asheboro Friends Meeting, 230 E. Kivett St., Asheboro, N.C. 27203.

Mary Ona Allred Clark, 75, formerly of The Summit, 156 E. Academy St., Asheboro, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Wesley Long Nursing Center, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. E.A. "Sonny" Reavis Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Giles Chapel Cemetery.

She was a native of High Point and the widow of Victor M. Clark.

Surviving are brother, W. Darrell Allred of Greensboro; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday and following the service on Sunday.

He was a native of Randolph County and a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Surviving are wife, Alice S. York; daughters, Martha Allmon of Asheboro, Dianne Moore of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sons, James York of Jacksonville, Ark., Jerry York of Harrisburg, Ronald York of Dallas, Texas; sister, Ruth Davis of Virginia; brothers, Charlie York, Jess York, both of Asheboro, William T. York of Virginia; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are daughters, Bernice Shelton of Candor, Brenda Speegle of Carthage; son, the Rev. William C. Shelton of Pilot Mountain; sister, Esther Thomas of Pinebluff; brother, E. L. Wood of Carthage; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Fry-Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Audrey T. Byrd
Audrey Terry Byrd, 62, of 1024 Bunting Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Carolina House of Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Newberry officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was an office manager at Plastics Color Chip, a member of the American Business Women's Association and Beta Signa Fi Delta, Delta Chapter and a member of Meadowbrook Road Church of Christ.

Surviving are husband, James H. Byrd Sr.; sons, James H. Byrd Jr. of Kernersville and Donald Byrd of Randleman; daughters, Debi Byrd Vinson of Baltimore, Md., and Cathy McKenzie and Laurie Smith, both of Asheboro; sisters, Joyce Rossmark of Dundalk, Md., Robin Mouring of Abingdon, Md., and Donna Rummel of Baltimore, Md.; brothers, James Terry and George A. Terry, both of Wilmington; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Irene M. Denton

Irene Elsie Matthews Denton, 79, of 849 Mark Ave., Asheboro, died Friday, June 26, 1998, at her residence.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Houck and Rev. Charles R. Brawley officiating. Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Bumgarner Cemetery in Whittier.

She was a native of Haywood County, a member of Balfour Baptist Church and the widow of Roy Earl Denton.

Surviving are daughter, Carolyn Marie Barnes of the home; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at the funeral home following the Sunday service and at Moody's Funeral Home in Sylva 2-3 p.m. Monday.

JACKSON SPRINGS - Kimes Cecil Blake, 81, of 251 Mill Road, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Jackson Springs Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Charles Meek and Rev. Stradford Snively officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Springs Cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Jackson Springs Community Club and Elberta Masonic Lodge #654 AF and AM, the retired owner/operator of Blake's Grocery Store and the widower of Bonnie Blue Blake.

Surviving are sons, Gene Blake of Nashville, Tenn., Cecil Blake of Jackson Springs and Parks Blake of Cameron; brothers, Elwood Blake of Southern Pines, Harris Blake of Pinehurst and Waylon Blake of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Lillian Gallimore of Ellerbe, Margaret Payne of Greensboro and Betty McNeill of Candor; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Sunday and other times at the residence.
