Wade Teague, 90, of Randleman, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Samuel Hinton officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County, a member of Red Cross Baptist Church, retired from Shields Construction Co. and was a farmer.

Surviving are wife, Jean Lucas Teague; stepdaughter, Cindy C. Hilliard of Asheboro; sister, Rachel Taylor of Fayetteville; brothers, Exton Teague of Greenville, S.C., Roy Teague of Rocky Mount, Va.; two stepgrandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home of the stepdaughter, 636 Karla Drive, Asheboro.

Memorials may be made to Elon Home for Children, P.O. Box 157, Elon College, N.C. 27244.

Amos K. Becker

RANDLEMAN - Amos Kreider Becker, 75, of 901 Hickory Nut Court, Pleasant Garden, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at his home.

Funeral services will be held in Pennsylvania.

Surviving are son, Barry Becker of the home; daughter, Patricia Ann Edges of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Ruth Kopp of Lititz, Pa.; two grandchildren.

Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, is in charge of local arrangements.

Isaac L. Gray Sr.

SILER CITY - Isaac Lee Gray Sr., 93, of 900 W. Dolphin St., died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Sunrise Care & Rehabilitation Center, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brush Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tom Hill and the Rev. Hayes Ritter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Carrol County, Va., a retired farmer and a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.

Surviving are sons, Burley Gray of Randleman, Charlie Gray of Asheboro, James Gray of Jonesboro, Texas, Isaac L. "Ike" Gray Jr. of Siler City; daughters, Doris G. Brown of Asheboro, Bonnie G. Ritter of Ramseur; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Ike Gray, 3837 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, Siler City.

Coy C. Cheek

ROBBINS - Coy Cephus Cheek, 63, of 140 Shore Drive, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Pinelake Health & Rehabilitation Center, Carthage.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ernest Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery, Bennett.

He was a native of Chatham County, a 25-year employee of Milliken Co. and a retiree of Burlington Industries, Ramseur.

Surviving are wife, Dorothy Chriscoe Cheek of the home; brother, Charles Cheek of Asheboro; sisters, Blanche C. Moffitt of Asheboro, Lucille Poole of Ramseur, Ayleen C. Brady of Coleridge.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Eula L. Hodge
Eula Mae Luther Hodge, 87, formerly of 1264 Luck Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Spoons Chapel United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. Larry McEntire officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Floyd Hodge and was formerly employed with Dixie Furniture and The Karel Company.

Surviving are son, Brady Hodge of Asheboro; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

RANDLEMAN - Thomas Ray Walker, 80, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation.

Prabhdeep Singh Sandhu, 15, of 2613-B Cashwell Drive, Goldsboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at his home.

A prayer service will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro.

He was a native of India and a ninth-grader at Eastern Wayne High School.

Surviving are parents, Jasbir Kaur Sandhu and Rajpal Singh Sandhu of the home; brother, Premdeep Singh Sandhu of the home; grandparents, Balwant Singh Sandhu and Mohinder Kaur of Punjab, India, Gurdial Singh Walha of San Francisco, Calif.

The family will be at the home of his uncle and aunt, Drs. Gurmukh and Sukh Walha, 1304 Thayer Drive, Asheboro.

RANDLEMAN - Thomas Ray "Curly" Walker, 80, formerly of Randleman, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Randolph Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jesse Wallace officiating.

He was a native of Stokes County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and retired from Mid State Box Co.

Surviving are stepdaughter, Shelby Wood of Beaumont, Texas; sisters, Irene Martin of Dobson, Gladys Hill of Ramseur; brother, Lester S. Walker of High Point; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

SEAGROVE - Betsy Ellen Chrisco, 58, of 7072 Ossie Hayes Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

SEAGROVE - Ellen Chrisco, 58, of 7072 Ossie Hayes Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mack Beck officiating. Burial will be in Waddell Memorial Cemetery.

She was a native of Alamance County, a member of Waddell Memorial Chapel and formerly employed at Luck's.

Surviving are husband, Anthony Chrisco of the home; son, Doug Brim of Seagrove; mother, Ruby Kearns Shelton of Seagrove; brother, Donnie Maness of Asheboro; sisters, Gladys Maness of Seagrove, Laura Asbill, Faye Leonard, both of Asheboro.

The family will be at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of her mother, 7427 Union Grove Church Road.

Patricia B. Phillips

BENNETT - Patricia Brady Phillips, 48, of 6829 Dewitt Country Lane, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at St. Joseph of the Pines.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bennett Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Timothy Strider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County, a graduate of Bennett High School and formerly employed with John Plant Company in Ramseur.

Surviving are sons, Corey Phillips of Wilmington, George Phillips III of Robbins; daughter, Robin Phillips of Bennett; mother, Blanche Lewis Brady of Bennett; brother, Roger Brady of Bennett; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

ROBBINS - Hattie Williams Jordon, 84, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998.

CARTHAGE - Christy Jamerson Painter, 25, of 289 Nathan Road, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel in Sanford with the Rev. Russell Blackmon officiating. Internment will be at Lee Memory Gardens.

Surviving are husband, Philip Painter of the home; father, Marvin David Jamerson of Sanford; mother, Brenda Nance Latham of Randleman; sister, Brenda Lee Jamerson of Asheboro; grandfather, William L. Nance of Asheboro.

The family will be at the funeral home 1-2 p.m. Monday.

W. Zeb Rush

ARCHDALE - W. Zeb Rush, 93, of 118 Kinview Drive, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Archdale United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Jeffrey S. Patterson and the Rev. Harold Shives officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired after 45 years from Adams-Millis Corp., a member of the Adult Bible Class and the Administrative Board at his church, and the widower of Ruby Lee Ijames.

Surviving are sisters, Effie Winfrey and Jessie Branch, both of High Point; half-sisters, Nancy Cagle of Ramseur and Mary Ann Russell of Denton; half-brothers, Robert Rush of Asheboro and Alson Rush of Lexington.

The family will be at Cumby Funeral Home in Archdale 3-5 p.m. Sunday.

Novella J. Snider

CLIMAX - Novella Johnson Snider, of 3347 Providence Church Road, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at N.C. Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Liberty, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Heath officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and retired from Randolph County Schools.

Surviving are daughter, Kay Davis of Climax; brother, Joe Johnson of Liberty; sister, Betty Muller of Greensboro.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 774, Liberty, N.C. 27298.

Sarah Edna Burrow Jackson, 65, of 307-A Poplar St., Asheboro, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Temple Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Buddy Smith officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County and retired from Champagne Dye Works.

Surviving are sons, Thomas Dempsey Jackson and Larry Dale Jackson, both of Asheboro; daughter, Wanda Jackson Taylor of Asheboro; sisters, Alta Presnell of Franklinville and Gertrude Bowman of Ramseur; brother, Harold Burrow of Climax; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home Asheboro 7-8:30 p.m. Monday.

Archie Lawson

Archie Lawson, 85, of 1306 Old Cox Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cross Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Greene officiating. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens in Union, S.C.

He was a native of Union, S.C., retired from Milliken Textiles of Spartanburg, S.C., and a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Cross Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Judy L. Oliver of Asheboro; three granddaughters; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home Asheboro 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Frances Cheek Plummer, 80, of 343 Woodcrest Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Asheboro with the Rev. Marion Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Alamance County, a homemaker, a member of Balfour Baptist Church and the widow of J.W. "Willie" Plummer.

Surviving are daughters, Martha P. Murdoch of Lexington, S.C., and Elizabeth P. Provancha and Lou Ellen Plummer, both of Asheboro; brothers, Albert Cheek of Graham and Elwood Cheek of Saxapahaw; sisters, Margaret Morris and Claudia Harwell, both of Asheboro, and Mary Love of Graham; four grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He was a native of Moore County and a self-employed farmer.

Surviving are wife, Edith Pope Cockman of the home; sons, Calvin Cockman of Carthage and Dean Cockman of Highfalls; sisters, Josie C. Stutts, Nancy C. Sheffield, Bell C. Pope, Donner C. Beck and Kathleen Craddock, all of Robbins; brothers, Roland Cockman and Benjamin Cockman, both of Robbins; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Charleston, S.C., a graduate of Goose Creek High School and a welder and fitter for Globel Inc.

Surviving are son, Joseph W. Snowden III of Moncks Corner, S.C.; daughter, Kaitlynn Irene Snowden of Goose Creek, S.C.; parents, Joseph W.
