Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman.

Hobart W. Coble

LIBERTY - Hobart Woodrow Coble of 3068 N.C. 62 East, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Kimesville, where he was a member, with Dr. Charles Adams and the Rev. Lynn Cash officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Guilford County, a former employee with Standard Hosiery Mills and Kayser Roth of Alamance and retired from P. Lorillard Company, Greensboro.

Surviving are wife, Inez Bishop Coble; daughter, Joanne C. Clapp of Liberty; sons, H.W. Coble II of Whitsett, Gary Coble of Liberty; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty, N.C. 27298.

Shirley C. Chatman

STALEY - Shirley Capps Chatman, 63, of 175 Edwards St., died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Rodney Boone officiating.

Surviving are daughters, Glenda Ransom of Pasadena, Texas, Rebecca Brooks of Climax, Margaret Stanley of Staley; son, Billy Stanley of Randleman; mother, Eva Capps of Gibsonville; brother, Billy Capps of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the homes of Margaret Stanley, 177 Edwards St., Staley and Rebecca Brooks, 6163 Pepperidge Way, Climax.

Edgar L. Allen

STAR - Edgar Lewis Allen, 74, of 138 Allen Drive, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at his home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Dickerson officiating.

He was a native of Moore County and a member of Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are wife, Faye Morgan Allen of the home; son, Lewis Allen of Star; daughters, Lois Allen of Star, Nettie Allen of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Phillips Funeral Home, Star, is in charge of the arrangements.

Bobby R. White

CANDOR - Bobby Ray White, 62, of 312 Gary St., died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home, Candor. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Stokes County and retired from Ithaca Industries Inc. in Robbins as a machine fixer.

Surviving are wife, Anne Wood White of the home; sons, Keith Ray White of Troy, Thomas Michael White of Star, Randall Lee White, Bobby Dale White, both of Candor; daughters, Ginger Michelle White of Greensboro, Kathy Ann Tucker, Myra White, both of Candor; brothers, Norman White, William T. "Wick" White, both of Ellerbe; sisters, Pauline McBride of Star, Shirley Bailey of Biscoe; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Jefferson D. Glover

SILER CITY - Jefferson "Jeff" D. Glover of 508 Womble St., died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Evans Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Riddie Headen officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.

He was a native of Chatham County and a retired employee of Chatham Novelties.

Surviving are wife, Hilda M. Glover; daughter, Jackie Johnson of Chapel Hill; sisters, Hannah Glover, Mae Anna Glover, both of Siler City; brother, Odell Glover of Winston-Salem.

The family will be at Farrar Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Ignacio R. Lorenzo
Ignacio Rodriguez Lorenzo, 38, of 1125 Kemp Blvd., Asheboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at his home.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Father Joseph Mack officiating.

Paul Allison

LIBERTY - Paul Allison died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1998, at Britthaven of Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Amos Grove Cemetery.

Surviving are daughter, Brenda B. McArn of Brown Summit; son, John L. Brown of Liberty; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 2 p.m. Sunday.

Kimes Funeral Service, Liberty, is in charge of the arrangements.

Dean O. Smith

GREENSBORO - Dean Owen Smith, 68, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at his home.

A memorial service will be 8 p.m. Friday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Vanstory Chapel, Greensboro.

He was a native of Little River, Kan., a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran, a graduate of Kansas State University where he later taught, and was the owner and operator of Regal Marketing in Level Cross.

Surviving are wife, Phyllis Smith of the home; daughters, Teresa S. Garner of Greensboro, Karen Smith of Los Gatos, Calif.; brothers, Verle "Max" Smith of Clyde, Texas, Glenn Smith of Houston, Texas.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8 p.m. Friday.

Neil E. Horton

DENTON - Neil Eugene Horton, 69, of 147 Badin Shores Circle, New London, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at Northeast Medical Center, Concord.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, with the Rev. Derald Smith and the Rev. Vernon Morton officiating. Burial will be in Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, with full military rites.

He was a native of Sterling, Ill., a veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and Vietnam War, where he was a POW, and served in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #7, the Military Order of the Cootie (Pearl Harbor), in Dixon, Ill., and was a member of the VFW in Albemarle, American Legion in Concord and Odd Fellows in Washington State.

Surviving are wife, Emma Jean Reasor Horton of the home; sons, Lawrence Neal Horton of Byron, Ill., Christopher Scott Horton of Sycamore, Ill.; stepsons, David Wayne Horne of Virginia Beach, Va., Donald Ray Horne of Atlanta, Ga., Daniel J. Horne of the home; stepdaughter, Evelyn Joyce Horne of Rinelander, Wis.; sister, Clara Mickey Hutchison of Polo, Ill.; seven grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

BEAR CREEK - Earl Wingate Frazier, 33, of 501 B, Joe Brown Road, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at Chapel Hill Rehabilitation & Health Care, Chapel Hill.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Bennett, where he was a member, with the Rev. Andy Scott and the Rev. Jeff Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was employed with Gold Kist.

Surviving are mother, Annie Mae Haithcox Frazier of Bear Creek; father, Earl Frazier of Bear Creek; sisters, Rhonda Andrew of Asheboro, Barbara Powers of Highfalls, Sue Owens of Staley; brothers, Ronald Frazier of Asheboro, Jessie Frazier of Ramseur.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, other times at the home.

Arthur William Frank, 82, of 1190 Camelot Drive, Asheboro, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at his home.

Dorothy B. Hill

TRINITY - Dorothy Bennett Hill, 78, of 4960 Hopewell Church Road, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ken Evans and the Rev. J.C. Alley officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Pinnacle and a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, Herman Henry Hill of the home; son, Darrell H. Hill of Archdale; daughter, Shirley Galliher of Troy; sister, Thelma Matthews of Asheboro; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Cumby Mortuary, Archdale, 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home of the son, 214 Balfour Drive, Archdale.

LIBERTY - Lucille Moody Albright, 84, formerly of 8941 Moody Road, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at Central Carolina Hospital.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Howard Spray officiating.

She was a native of Alamance County, the widow of Slocum Lewis Albright and was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church.

Surviving is one grandson.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.

SEAGROVE - M/Sgt. Dock C. Williamson, 76, of 147 Needham Grove Road, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Needham Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. James E. Cockram officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors.

He was a native of Moore County, a U.S. Army veteran of 20 years and retired from Civil service after 16 years.

Surviving is sister, Pearl W. Hussey of Robbins.

CARTHAGE - Bambi Britt Wood, 21, of Carthage, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, from injuries received in an automobile accident on Vass/Carthage Road.

She was a native of Surry County and the widow of Homer Bailiff.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from the construction business where he was self-employed, was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was active in the Airborne Reunion.

Surviving are wife, Cladie Kerns Lawson of the home; daughters, Ronnie Rodkin of Naples, Fla., Marie Beitz of Flemington, N.J., Trudy Cronce of Lambertville, N.J.; sons, Jesse J.
