McBeth - Donald Ray "Red" Sr., 73, Raytown, Mo., passed on to the Lord on Tuesday (8/14/2001). Born, Shelby (5/24/28). Red was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, friend. Graduated, Lincoln High; achieved master electrician certificate through various technical trade schools. In 1951, Red and family moved to Raytown, Mo. Red spent his professional career with Comet Industries of Kansas City and retired a Vice President; continued with DST Winchester Center of Kansas City before retirement. Adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 469, of Raytown, Mo., and the Tribe of Mic-Q-Say from 1973-80. Don believed in investing his time here in others. He spent a majority of time working in Masonic organizations. He was currently serving as Worthy Patron of the Eastgate Chapter No. 367 of Eastern Star. Member, Raytown Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite; Ararat Shrine Temple; driver for the Shrine's Orthopedic Children's Hospital in St. Louis; supported the Shrine Circus. Don also volunteered his time and talents to the Red Cross, the Optimist Club, Camp Fire Girls, Job's Daughters Bethel No. 55, Cave Springs Association, Rice Tremonti House. He utilized his talents as a master wood worker to create furniture, clocks, and gifts for family and friends.
