Miller - Mary Lucille "Mary Lou" (Allen), 75, Omaha, died Wednesday (2/13/2002). Born, Beatrice (5/10/26), the only child of Carl F. and Lucille Allen. 1944 graduate, Beatrice High School. Married August "Mike" Anthony Miller, a pilot in the Army Air Corps stationed in Lincoln (6/17/45). Her favorite hobbies included her cat Angel, gambling, crossword puzzles and word puzzles, reading, music, and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors: daughters, son-in-law, Kathy Curry, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jeanne and Steve Cary, Omaha; sons, daughters-in-law, James and Alice Miller, Beatrice, Mike and Jan Miller, Lincoln; grandchildren, Luke and Hilary Miller, Lincoln, Bryce, Tyler, and Ryan Cary, Omaha, Mary and Adam Curry, Colorado Springs. Preceded in death by husband (1967); parents.
Memorial service: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Overland Hills Baptist Church, 707 Gruenther St., Papillion. Her body has been donated to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Stett - Edward Lee, 57, Harvard, died Wednesday (2/13/2002) in Lincoln.
A memorial service was held Friday, Wilson-Alberding Funeral Home, Harvard. No visitation. Private family burial to be held at later date. Memorials in Ed's name to family for organ donation fund.

Tavlin - Mitch, 95, Lincoln, died Wednesday (2/13/2002). Born, Grodno, Poland (6/6/1906). Emigrated to United States in 1912; Lincoln resident for 90 years. Graduated, Lincoln High School, 1923. Captain, U.S. Army, World War II veteran. Member, Tifereth Israel Synagogue, Lincoln Elks Lodge 80, VFW, B'nai B'rith. Mitch was in the automobile business in the 1930s and owned the Sleepy Hollow Motel in the 1950s, but he was best-known as Lincoln's wine merchant, owning and operating the Cork 'n' Bottle for 40 years and then managing the wine departments at various Super Saver stores until his health forced him to retire in 1995 at age 89. Mitch was an absolutely unforgettable, one-of-a-kind person who thoroughly endeared himself to the people of Lincoln, the city he called "the best place on Earth."
Survivors: sons, daughters-in-law, Michael and Marvona Tavlin, John and Laurie Tavlin, all Lincoln; grandchildren, Matthew Tavlin, Mission, Kan., Lindsey and Natalie Tavlin, Lincoln; sisters, Sonia Tavlinsky, Firth, Ida Stone, Omaha; nieces, Linda Tavlin, Chicago, Deborah Tavlin, Long Beach, Calif.; nephew, Otis Tavlin, Long Beach; special friend, Ruth Ronning, Lincoln; thousands of other cherished friends.
