Normand E. Baron, ALLENSTOWN

ALLENSTOWN - Normand E. Baron, 74, of Letendre Avenue, died Monday at Concord Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Manchester, the son of Edgar and Marie-Ange (Lacroix) Baron. He was raised in Allenstown and lived in Manchester before returning to Allenstown 20 years ago. He graduated from St. Francis High School in Biddeford, Maine. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and served during the Korean conflict. Baron worked as a detailer for Dobles Chevrolet in Manchester for many years before retiring. He later worked part time for the Tri-Town Ice Arena in Hooksett. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Routhier Council No. 4666 in Suncook. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Baron of Salem; a daughter, Patricia Guimond of Port Charlotte, Fla.; his mother of Allenstown; two sisters, Jeannine Legendre of Laconia and Anita Doucette of Rollingsford; six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. His wife, Laurette (Richard) Baron, died in 1981. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. The Rev. Donald Clinton, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Allenstown. Memorial donations may be made to the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester 03104.

Gregg Storey, TILTON

TILTON - Gregg Storey, 56, died Monday at home after a long illness. He was born and raised in the Tilton area, the son of Clayton and Ellen (Beaupre) Storey. He graduated from Tilton-Northfield High School in 1965. He took spiritual initiation instructions with Sant Kirpal Singh, an Indian saint associated with Sant Bani Ashram in Sanbornton in 1971. He earned a degree in industrial arts from the University of Colorado at Pueblo in 1976. He worked as a builder and restorer of antique homes and considered his greatest accomplishment the construction of the home for Sant Ajaib Singh at Sant Bani Ashram in 1996. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Stephanie (Gekas) Storey; a son, Ethan Storey of Tilton; three daughters, Leah Storey of Tilton, Lisa Stevens and Healther Cygan; a brother, Clayton Storey of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Shirley Daigneault of Concord; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Louise Joscelyn, died in 2002. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Sant Bani Ashram in Sanbornton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gregory J. Storey Medical Fund, c/o Franklin Savings Bank, 933 Central St., Franklin 03235. Thibault-Neun Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of the arrangements.

Altha B. Emerson, CENTER BARNSTEAD

CENTER BARNSTEAD - Altha Blanche Emerson, 85, died yesterday at her home. She was born in Barnstead, the daughter of Fred and Gladys (Brady) Kenison. She was a lifelong resident of Barnstead. She worked in the bundling department at Globe Manufacturing Co. in Pittsfield for 25 years. She attended Center Barnstead Christian Church. Emerson enjoyed shopping and spending time at the beach. Survivors include a son, Keith Emerson of Manchester; a daughter, Linda Fitzmorris of Center Barnstead; a sister, Erlma Davis of Barnstead; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband of more than 60 years, Woodrow Emerson, died in 1996; two brothers, Harry Kenison and Donald Otis, and two sisters, Doris Martin and Shirley Berry, also died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Center Barnstead Christian Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Barnstead Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 117, Barnstead 03218; or to Lakes Region Community Health and Hospice Inc., 780 N. Main St., Laconia 03246. Steve Cruikshank, DEERFIELD

DEERFIELD - Steve Cruikshank, 51, died Monday. He was the son of Charles and Helen Cruikshank. He was raised in Rye. He graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1969 and attended Plymouth State College. He worked as a carpenter and joiner for more than 30 years. He loved sea kayaking, mountain biking and hiking year-round in the White Mountains. Survivors include his father of Rye; his wife, Irene (Koski) Cruikshank of Deerfield; and a son, Zeb Cruikshank of Minneapolis. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Church (South Church) on State Street in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seacoast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 4428, Portsmouth 03802-4428.

Pricilla M. Holman

Pricilla M. Holman, 90, of Christian Avenue died at home. She was born in North Stratford, the daughter of Orin and Edna (Brown) Holman. She was raised in Littleton and lived in Boston before moving to Concord in 2000. She graduated from Littleton High School and, in 1934, New England Deaconess School of Nursing, where she helped open the Baker Building at the Deaconess Hospital. She later completed a business procedure and typing program at Hickox School and earned a bachelor's degree from Boston College School for Education in 1962. Holman worked as a private office and surgical nurse for Dr. William Beetham from 1940 until 1973. She then worked for Dr. Lloyd Aiello, retiring in 1979. She was an active member of the United Parish Church in Brookline, Mass., and later the South Congregational Church in Concord. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, Massachusetts Nurses Association District 5, American Operating Nurses Association, Massachusetts Operating Nurses Association District 1, and the New England Deaconess Alumnae Association, for which she served as president from 1946 to 1952. She was a 50-year supporting member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Morton of Enfield, Conn.; and nieces and nephews. A sister, Ruby Tracey of Circleville, Ohio, and a brother, Orin Holman, died previously. Donations may be made to Saturday at 3 p.m. in South Congregational Church in Concord. Burial will be held in the spring in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery in South Paris, Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Merrimack St., Ste. 1, Manchester 03101-2244. Waters Funeral Home in Concord is in charge of the arrangements.

Marjorie B. Putnam

Marjorie B. Putnam, 99, of Concord died Friday at Pleasant View Center in Concord. She was born in Lander, Pa., the daughter of Charles and Clara (Ludwick) Burgett. She graduated from Edinboro Normal School. She was formerly of West 30th Street in Erie, Pa. Putnam taught in North Warren, Pa., Warren, Pa., and Erie, Pa., schools. She was a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church in Erie, Pa., where she was a member of the Women's Group. She enjoyed handicrafts and making Raggedy Ann dolls. Survivors include a son, Charles Putnam of Pembroke; two daughters, Nancy Wright of Sterling, Va., and Joyce Helm of Coppell, Texas; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Philip Putnam, died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th St., Erie, Pa. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Cascade United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Clark Walz will officiate. Burial will be held in Foster Cemetery in Farmington Township, Warren County, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to the Cascade United Methodist Church, 1001 West 21st St., Erie, Pa. 16502; or the charity of one's choice.

Edith I. Hersey, HILLSBORO

HILLSBORO - Edith I. Hersey, 85, died yesterday at Concord Hospital. She was born in Hillsboro, the daughter of Albert and Bertha (Stowell) Swett. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1934. Hersey worked for the Hillsboro Hosiery Mill in Hillsboro and for Osram Sylvania for 25 years before retiring. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hersey of Hillsboro and Jeannette Walsh of Washington; a brother, Ernest Swett of Hillsboro; a sister, Mabel Holt of Antrim; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband, Charles Hersey Jr., died in 1999. Graveside services will be held in the spring in Maple Avenue Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorial donations may be made to the Hillsboro Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 350, Hillsboro 03244. Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation in Hillsboro is in charge of the arrangements.

Phebe R. Whittemore, BENNINGTON

BENNINGTON - Phebe R. Whittemore, 81, died Tuesday at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. She was born in Penacook, the daughter of Louis and Laura (Moore) Champney. She lived in Penacook before moving to Bennington. Survivors include three sons, Brian Whittemore, George Whittemore Jr. and Barry Whittemore, all of Bennington; four brothers, George Champney of Concord, Allie Champney of Candia, Robert Champney of Taylorsville, Utah, and Stanley Champney of North Carolina; five sisters, Laura Auston of Goffstown, Winnie Hoyt of Francestown, Florence Dodge of Oxford, Kan., Ella McLeod of Florida and Penny Haines of Ohio; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, George Whittemore, died in 1994. Services will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 32 School St., Hillsboro. Burial will be in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery in Bennington.

Aline A. Luneau, MEREDITH

MEREDITH - Aline A. Luneau, 97, of Route 104 died yesterday at the Golden View Health Care Center. She was born in St. Remi, Canada, the daughter of Luc and Zerilda (Provencher) Luneau. She moved to Laconia in 1970 and to Meredith in 1996. Luneau worked operating Miss Luneau Fashions in Dover with her sister and as a private duty nurse traveling aboard cruise ships before World War II. She worked with returning veterans in Philadelphia during World War II. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. Six sisters and five brothers died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Graveside services will be held in the spring in the family lot in St. John's Cemetery in Tilton. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home of Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.

J. Armand Sinotte

J. Armand Sinotte, 80, of Iron Works Road died Tuesday at home. He was born in Lyndonville, Vt., the son of Joseph and Victoria (Jacques) Sinotte. He attended schools in Concord. He worked as a salesman for Carlson Motors for more than 38 years. Sinotte was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, where he was active with the Bereavement Committee. He was a member of VFW Post No. 1631 for 50 years. He was an avid horseshoe player. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Albetine (Devenger) Sinotte of Concord; two daughters, Cynthia Magahan of Concord and Pamela Sinotte of Roslindale, Mass.; a brother, Lorenzo Sinotte of Florida; a sister, Lorraine Fleming of Port Richey, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Aurore Crane, and a brother, Hector Sinotte, died previously. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 72 S. Main St., Concord. Trevor R. Barrett, BELMONT

BELMONT - Trevor R. Barrett, 28, of Plummer Hill Road died Tuesday at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia. He was born in Laconia, the son of Kenneth and Gail (Clement) Barrett. He lived in Laconia before moving to Belmont in 1981. He graduated from Belmont High School. Barrett worked for Seaman's Supply Co. Inc. in Laconia for seven years. He loved fishing, camping and sports. Survivors include his parents of Belmont; a sister, Tiffany Drouin of Laconia; grandparents, Virginia Barrett of Belmont and Norman Clement of Laconia; many aunts and uncles; a nephew and two nieces; and cousins. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. George Hankins-Hull, spiritual care coordinator at the Lakes Region General Hospital, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, P.O. Box 572, Laconia 03247.
