HOPKINTON - Hilda M. Carlson, 96, of Hopkinton Road, died Sunday at the home of her niece. She was born in Auld's Cove, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of Peter and Eva (Crispo) Forrestall. She emigrated from Canada to Concord in the 1930s. She graduated from Concord Commercial College. Carlson worked as secretary to the treasurer of United Life and Accident Insurance Company in Concord. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Survivors include a nephew, John Forrestall of Concord; three nieces, Hildamarie Trott of East Andover, Kathyanne Garp of Loudon and Ruth Conwell of Canaan; and cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Her husband, Harry Carlson, died in 1976; and a brother, John Forrestall, died in 1972. Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 72 S. Main St., Concord. The Rev. Steven Montesanti will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord.

WINNISQUAM - The Rev. Conrad V. "Connie" LaForest, 63, of Hill Road, died Wednesday. He was born in Nashua, the son of Victor and Lillianne (Maynard) LaForest. He was an Eagle Scout. He served in the Navy. He was ordained in 1970, became pastor of Our Lady of the Mountains in North Conway in 1988 and served as a priest for the Diocese of Manchester throughout the state until retiring in 2002. LaForest was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree and assisted the reorganization of Council No. 7575 and the Father Belford Assembly in North Conway. He was active with the Boy Scouts in Penacook and served as a scout master in Hudson. Survivors include three brothers, Donald LaForest of Amherst, Leonard LaForest of Hixson, Tenn., and Raymond LaForest of Londonderry; four sisters, Priscilla Maynard of Nashua, Yvonne Leveque of Leesburg, Fla., Monique Russin of Hudson and Theresa LaForest of Sulphur Well, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will not be held. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 am. at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia. Bishop John McCormack and the Rev. Donald Gauthier will be celebrants. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Nashua. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Daniel Webster Council of Boy Scouts of America, 571 Holt Ave., Manchester 03109. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home in Laconia is in charge of the arrangements.

Colin M. Heath, CANTERBURY

CANTERBURY - Colin M. Heath, 84, of Old Tilton Road died Wednesday at Concord Hospital. He was born in Canterbury, the son of Chester and Mary (Kelley) Heath. He lived in the Canterbury area all of his life. He graduated from Concord High School in 1936. He worked for Scott & Williams in Laconia during World War II and later co-owned and operated a sawmill in Canterbury. He also worked for the State of New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economics Development from 1958 to 1981. Heath served as chairman on the Cemetery Committee and as church trustee. He was a founding member and lifetime member of the Sunset Mountain Fish and Game Club in Canterbury. He was a member of the original Canterbury Fire Department and was a local fire warden. He was also an active member of the Canterbury United Community Church, to which he donated lumber and other building supplies after the church burned in the 1940s. He was a lifelong carpenter and built five houses in addition to other carpentry work. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Survivors include two sons, Brian Heath of Penacook and David Heath of Canterbury; a daughter, Laurie Schiet of Naarden, Netherlands; a sister, Margery Reed of Boscawen; and five grandchildren. His wife of 22 years, Virginia (Bauer) Heath, died in 1981. Calling hours will be held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook. Pastor Melvin Burrowes will officiate. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Canterbury United Community Church, 5 Center Road, Canterbury. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Canterbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice Program, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302-1797.

George E. Liouzis, PENACOOK

PENACOOK - George E. Liouzis, 62, of Whitewater Drive died Sunday at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., the son of Elia and Olga (Savas) Liouzis. He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1958 and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire. He moved to Penacook in 1985. Liouzis served with the Army. He worked as a personnel manager and production supervisor for George Frost Co. in Shirley, Mass. and later as a human resource administrator for the New Hampshire State Liquor Commission. He was known as a professional 'remote man' by his family. Survivors include his mother of Pittsfield; his wife, Denise (Gendron) Liouzis of Penacook; two daughters, Erica Liouzis of Pembroke and Leah Liouzis of Penacook; a brother, Nick Liouzis of Pittsfield; a sister, Dorothy Baker of Derry; a grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord. A Trisagion service will be held during calling hours at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 68 N. State St., Concord. The Rev. Peter Chamberas will officiate. Burial will be held at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord.

William G. Carruth, BRISTOL

BRISTOL - William Glenn Carruth, 80, of Wellington Village Drive, died Monday at Bon Secour Hospital in Venice, Fla., after a period of failing health. He was born in Worcester, Mass., the son of Glenn and Miriam (Winchester) Carruth. He attended schools in Worcester, Mass. and earned two degrees from Clark University in Worcester in 1948. He lived in Bristol for most of his life and wintered in Venice, Fla., for more than 17 years. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre. Carruth worked for the International Packing Corporation in Bristol for more than 38 years, retiring as plant manager. He attended the Bristol Federated Church. He was a Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 79 F&AM in Bristol, the American Legion Post No. 159 in Venice, Fla., and many other organizations. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Dorothy (Boyce) Carruth of Bristol; three sons, Ronald Carruth of Pittsfield, Douglas Carruth of Woodsville and Russell Carruth of Groton; a daughter, Joan Prudhomme of East Greenwich, R.I.; three granddaughters; and three nieces and a nephew. Calling hours will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road, Tilton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the memorial home. The Rev. John Fischer of Hebron will officiate. Masonic services will be held during the funeral services. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hill. Memorial donations may be made to the Newfound Area Nursing Association, 214 Lake St., Bristol 03222. William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton is in charge of the arrangements.

Maurice L. Terrill Jr., Lynn, Mass.

Lynn, Mass. - Maurice L. Terrill Jr., 71, of Grover Street and formerly of Concord, died Sunday at his home after a short illness.
He was born in Concord, the son of Maurice and Rachael (DeJadan) Terrill.
He was raised in Concord and lived in Lynn, Mass., for 34 years. He was formerly of Hogan Pond Lane in Oxford, Maine.
He attended schools in Concord and graduated from St. John's High School.
Terrill served as a staff sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He worked as an accountant for Boston and Maine Railroad for 30 years before retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the VFW Post 2346 in Saugus, Maine, and the Fox Hill Yacht Club.
He enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, and walking on the beach.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Susan (Koelsch) Terrill; three sons, Michael Terrill of Lynn, Mass.; Mark Terrill of Canton, Maine, and Matt Terrill of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Dawn Terrill of Saugus, Maine, Valerie Terrill of Salem, Mass., and Morgan Terrill of Portland, Ore.; a brother, Vincent Terrill of Manchester, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Richard Terrill, and a brother, Raphael Terrill, died previously.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Solimine, Landergan and Rhodes Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Lynn, Mass.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Mass. 01923.

Harvey O. Connelly Jr., BRISTOL, Conn.

BRISTOL, Conn. - Harvey O. Connelly Jr., 71, of Janice Lane, died May 24 at New Britain General Hospital in Connecticut. He was born in Cambridge, Mass., the son of Harvey Sr. and Alice (Ross) Connelly. He lived in Bristol, Conn., for many years. He worked as a printer at Hildreth Press for 32 years before retiring. Connelly served in the Army during the Korean War, when he served in Germany. He was a member of the Bristol (Conn.) Fish and Game Club. Survivors include his wife, Lydia (Geitz) Connelly; two sons, Woodrow Connelly of Goshen, Conn., and Rick Connelly of Bristol, Conn.; two daughters, Judy Walsh of Barrington, R.I., and Mary Wight of Enfield, Conn.; two sisters, Florence McAllister of Concord and Dorothy Carson of Weymouth, Mass.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will not be held. A reception will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at his home, 28 Janice Lane in Bristol, Conn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, New England Division Inc., P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, Conn. 06450-1004. DuPont Funeral Home in Bristol, Conn., is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruth V. Hale, RAVENA, N.Y.

RAVENA, N.Y. - Ruth V. Hale, 87, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar, N.Y. She was born in Coxsackie, N.Y., the daughter of Claude and Ellena (Kennedy) Van Schaack. She worked for American Valve in Coxsackie, N.Y., and later for the New York State Youth Commission. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Coxsackie, N.Y. She was a former Green County Republican Election Inspector. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Hale of Henniker; a daughter, Judith Glasheen of Coxsackie, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, including Elizabeth Hale-Campoli of Concord; and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles Hale, died in 1984. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Sopris Funeral Home, 11877 Route 9-W, Coxsackie, N.Y. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial Mass will be celebrated June 8 at 9 a.m. at St. Theresa Parish in Henniker. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Theresa Parish Building Fund, P.O. Box 729, Henniker 03242.
