Dorothy A. Kelleher, PAXTON, Mass.
Saturday, August 5, 2000
PAXTON, Mass. - Dorothy A. Kelleher, 72, died July 24 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Willard and Louise (Morse) French.
She graduated from Westbrook College in Maine.
She was an artist, interior designer and gardener.
She was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Cameron.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Robert Kelleher Sr., of Paxton, Mass.; three daughters, Robin Stamm of Epsom, Gail Burke and Lisa Farnham, both of Spencer, Mass.; three sons, Robert Kelleher Jr. of Fair Oaks, Calif., Sean Kelleher of San Lorenzo, Calif., and Brian Kelleher of Los Angeles; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Greeley of Swampscott, Mass.; a brother, Arthur French, of Sterling, Mass.; eight grandchildren; several sons and daughters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services were held July 27 at the Congregational Church of Paxton, Mass.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Program of Worcester, Mass., the American Cancer Society or an art museum.

George A. Ducharme, LACONIA

LACONIA - George A. Ducharme, 81, of Blueberry Lane, died yesterday at the Lakes Region General Hospital.
He was born in Worcester, Mass., the son of Albert and Rena (Gibeau) Ducharme.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed at the Scott & Williams Co. for many years. He later worked at the New Hampshire Ball Bearing Co.
He was a member of the Lakes Region Planning Board of Meredith. He was also a parishioner at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish and was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 876 and the Wilkins-Smith Post No. 1 of the American Legion.
He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes (Dockham) Ducharme.
Survivors include two sons, John Ducharme of Lakeport and George Ducharme of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Rita Giunta of Weathersfield, Conn.; his companion of the past 16 years, Roxanne Stanley of Wolfeboro; and nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 238 Union Ave., Laconia. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Gilford.
Memorial donations may be made to the Community Health and Hospice, 780 N. Main St., Laconia.

Edith I. Riley, MANCHESTER
Saturday, August 5, 2000
MANCHESTER - Edith I. (Emery) Riley, 90, of Manchester, died yesterday at the Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Chester, the daughter of Fred and Blanche (Maxwell) Emery. After her mother's death, she was raised by Addie Page.
She was an avid sports fan who accompanied her family to many ball games and Little League events. She was also a loyal Red Sox fan.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Riley, in 1973; a daughter, Irene Riley; and a son, Earl Riley Jr.
Survivors include five sons, Webster "Mike" Riley of Bedford, Reginald "Sip" Riley of Allenstown, and Guy Riley, Bruce Riley and Lester "Spike" Riley, all of Manchester; five daughters, Lena "Lee" Archambault of Nashua, and Patricia Comer, Rita Hamel, Bette Trombly and Frances "Fran" Philibotte, all of Manchester; 39 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., Manchester.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Pius X Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Armand W. St. Onge, FLORIDA
Saturday, August 5, 2000
FLORIDA - Armand W. St. Onge, 88, a former Concord resident, died Thursday in Tucson, Ariz.
He graduated from Concord High School in 1931.
He worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Hazel St. Onge; two children, Joan Flaby and James St. Onge; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held in Tucson, Ariz.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
The Adair Funeral Home of Tucson, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.

Brian M. Shanley, BRISTOL
Saturday, August 5, 2000
BRISTOL - Brian M. Shanley, 20, of Wellington Village Drive, died yesterday from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
He was born in Oceanside, Calif., the son of Keith and Linda (Small) Shanley. He had lived in Bristol since 1983, previously living in Laconia and Ashland.
He attended Newfound Memorial Middle School and Newfound Regional High School.
He was a former member of Cub Scout Pack No. 59 and had been active with Little League baseball and basketball programs at the Bristol Community Center. He also volunteered as an umpire for the baseball programs.
Survivors include his father; his mother, of Bristol; his brother, Eric Shanley of Bristol; his paternal grandparents, Donald and Inez Shanley of Bristol; his maternal great-grandmother, Mary Small of Ashland; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be held tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Emmons Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bristol.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Homeland Cemetery in Bristol. The Rev. Robert Farah will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bristol Community Center, P.O. Box 172, Bristol 03222.

Louis P. Plante, ALLENSTOWN
Saturday, August 5, 2000
ALLENSTOWN - Louis P. "Phil" Plante, 84, of Pinewood Road, died yesterday at home after a period of failing health.
He was born in Laurierville, Quebec, Canada, the son of Joseph and Celina (Caron) Plante. He moved to the United States in 1926 and spent most of his life in the Pembroke-Allenstown area.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a maintenance foreman for the state of New Hampshire and at the New Hampshire National Guard Armory in Concord. He also worked at Virney Mills, Leighton Machine and was a self-employed carpenter.
He was a member of the St. Theresa Rosebush Society and the Suncook Happy Singers. He was also a former member of the Franco-American Credit Union.
He was an accomplished violinist.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Cecilia (Racine) Plante of Allenstown; three daughters, Therese Fortin and Lucille Fortin, both of Allenstown, and Henriette Schwab of Concord; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Marie Auger of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke. The members of the St. Theresa Rosebush Society will meet at 3 p.m. for a prayer service.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Church. The Rev. C. Peter Dumont, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at the old St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Allenstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. John the Baptist Old Cemetery Trust Fund, P.O. Box 220, Suncook 03275.

Norman H. Royle, WOLFEBORO
Sunday, August 6, 2000
WOLFEBORO - Norman H. Royle, 94, of Sugar Hill and formerly of Brookfield, died yesterday at home.
He was born in Waltham, Mass., the son of Harold and Ethel (Haron) Royle.
He graduated from Newton (Mass.) High School and Northeastern University.
He was employed at N.E. Power Co. for more than 40 years, retiring at the age of 65.
Following his retirement, he moved to Brookfield, where he served the town as an Auditor, a member of the Planning Board, a Selectman, a Tax Assessor and a Selectman's Assistant. He also served as a representative at the Lakes Region Planning Commission from 1972 to 1991.
He was a member of the Wakefield Church of Christ and delivered meals with the Meals On Wheels programs until the age of 92. He was also a member of the Men's Club and the Belfrey Club. He served as Grand Marshal and Grand Secretary of the Simon Robinson Masonic Temple in Lexington.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine (Moore) Royle, in 1972.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Margaret (Thompson) Royle; two sons, Norman Royle of Wakefield and David Royle of New London; two stepdaughters, Sheila Russell of Brownsville, Texas and Alice Rose of Wolfeboro; a stepson, Brian Thompson of Alexandria, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Wakefield United Church of Christ. The Rev. John Tamilio, pastor, will officiate.
A reception will be held in the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norman Royle Scholarship Fund, Profile Bank, 65 Meadow St., Sanbornville 03872.
The C.E. Peaslee & Son Funeral Home of Wakefield is in charge of arrangements.

Jane C. Canning, ANDOVER
Sunday, August 6, 2000
ANDOVER - Jane C. Canning, 51, died Thursday due to complications of Lupus Erethematosis.
She was a graduate of the School for Social Research in New York City and Rutgers University.
She worked as a member of the faculty of the University of Merida in Venezuela, South America. She later became director of special education services in the Fall Mountain Regional School District in Langdon and later in Hopkinton. She had recently been writing textbooks on Latin American art. In addition, she had written Latinos in Film and the Salvadore Allende Reader, and had worked on a review of Sports and Culture in Latin America.
Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Canning of Langdon; a daughter, Doyle Canning of Andover; a sister, Carol Canning of Philadelphia; and a brother, Jay Canning of Burlington, Vt.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held in Andover at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation, New Hampshire Chapter, 18 Herrick St., Merrimack 03054.
The Chadwick Funeral Service of New London is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys E. Kinne, MEREDITH
Sunday, August 6, 2000
MEREDITH - Gladys E. Kinne, 95, of Golden View Health Care Center and formerly of Rumney and Littleton, died Thursday at home after a period of failing health.
She was born in West Milan, the daughter of Arthur and Georgia (Ramsdell) Farr. She lived in Littleton for 79 years.
She was employed by the A.N. Farr Co., the Ellingwood Truck Co., the MacLeod's Store and also assisted her husband in his poultry and egg business for many years.
She was a member of the White Mountain Senior Citizen's Club, the Women's Farm and Home League, the Ladies Society of the First Congregational Church and the Rebekahs. She was also a leader of the Jolly Workers Girls 4-H club.
She was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed embroidery, quilting, braiding and taking care of her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Kinne, in 1982.
Survivors include a son, Nelson Kinne of Manchester; two daughters, Carolyn Grass of Rumney and Verna James of Barnstead; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ross Funeral Home, 282 W. Main St., Littleton. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Littleton. Burial will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery in Littleton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Norman Kinne Fund, Littleton Public Library, 109 Main St., Littleton 03561.

Lawrence S. Scovill, GILMANTON IRON WORKS
Monday, August 7, 2000
GILMANTON IRON WORKS - Lawrence S. Scovill, 85, of Mountain Road, died Wednesday at the St. Francis Home in Laconia.
He was born in Clinton, Mass., the son of Sorensen and Lenna (Crosby) Scovill. He had lived in Gilmanton for more than 60 years.
He worked as a poultry farmer and was employed by the state of New Hampshire as a carpenter and locksmith.
He served the town of Gilmanton Iron Works as a selectman and fire chief for the town's volunteer fire department.
He was a member of the Winnipesaukee Lodge No. 75 for more than 50 years, serving as chaplain and master.
He was predeceased by a son, Paul Scovill, in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Prescott) Scovill of Gilmanton Iron Works; a son, Judson Scovill of Seattle; two daughters, Winifred Young of Northwood and Mildred Parks of Dover; a daughter-in-law, Karen Scovill of Gilmanton Iron Works; and eight grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Home, 406 Court St., Laconia 03246.
The Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home of Laconia is in charge of arrangements.
